- I have read these comments but has anyone considered he may have been stolen and dumped in another county when they realised he was old. The kind owners could be searching. The thieves should be the ones prosecuted. Every one so quick to assume the owners. I know people are cruel but some owners search and search. There pets gone years.

- Long shot, but could this be Paddy 10710 lost June 2007. Paddy was lost only 30 miles south. There is no photo on Paddy's page, but owner describes him as "He is large for the breed, entire, 3/4 docked and his other flank (from the photo) is almost entirely white except for a small spot (3ish inch diam) on his fore shoulder. His tale is white but has a patch of liver at the base of it." Last edited: 2014-05-04 17:39:29 by Annie

- So many springers out there lost or stolen and this poor boy had a home and was discarded like rubbish, it beggars belief what low life do to their pets who are loyal to them. Hope he finds a home there is a wee smile in his face still xxx

- Terrible. Do hope this lovely boy finds his forever home when he is fully recovered. Many thanks to the finder and Vale Vets. Maybe this is a stolen, dumped springer?

- STROUD District Council is asking local residents to track down the owner of a springer spaniel which was found neglected and injured in woods in Dursley.
The elderly male spaniel, found near Bramble Drive had no identification tag or microchip however the council’s animal welfare officers are keen to trace the owner with a view to prosecuting them for animal cruelty.
SDC dog warden, Josie Oak said: “A concerned member of the public found the dog and took it to Vale Vets for treatment.
"It was a dry day but the dog was soaking wet.
"Its coat was severely matted and it looked like someone had attempted to cut out the matting in a very forceful manner causing cuts to its body.
"We want to track down the person responsible as this is clear case of neglect and cruelty.”
The dog is currently being cared for at the council’s holding kennels.
Josie added: “We would also like to thank the person who found the dog and Vale Vets for their help.”
Anyone who suspects that they may know the owner of the dog should call 01453 754490 or email info@stroud.gov.uk - 2014-04-29 15:35
