My sister Linda will be attending and as an added mobile advert will be putting posters on her motobilty scooter to advertise as she goes around. Thanks Sis . CJ xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not known
Ive spoken to the person reporting the sighting. Have now corrected the information received. A dog similar to Jasper was sighted on Saturday 7th July around 9-10am running around frantic on A289 Gads Hill/Dial Rd corner. Cars stopped and drivers attempted to catch him but he bolted. One driver said that she had seen this dog several times in the area last week. The person reporting the sighting, is going to see if he can obtain any local knowledge on the dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ok we now have the information... Jayne can poster be resent - it's totally wrong! It was saturday am - was running Gads Hill, A289 corner of Dial Road and Gads Hill, very nervous running all over the road, lady of asian origin stopped right next to the dog and he ran off, she said that she had seen these dog several times that week - so its lower rainham road, must be near the Ship and the Four Brothers pubs... Not sure that would be called near the docks? (are we talking chatham docks or gillingham docks too??!)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a beagle walked in this area that i sometimes see on the way to work, via Mill Road. Can't for the life of me remember the owner, but it is a tricolour beagle. I'm not actually sure of the road mentioned here - I don't know any lower road unless it's a local name and anyway the "lower" road doesn't have a speed bump does it, assuming we're talking about Medway Road where the Prince of Guinea is? The only speed bump is on Mill Road... or are we talking Pier Road - which is the road leading to the docks but has no speed bumps!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have recd information of a dog matching Jasper along Lower road Gillingham heading towards the dock area. He was being followed by an elderly man- who may have taken him in. Looked well fed and good condition. Therefore need to popster this area ASAP. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No sightings at all of Jasper. there was another beagle running loose in area without a collar which was not jasper. All the bitches in the area are no longer on heat. Riders from cobham are still on the lookout. We need a sighting to plot which area he is roaming in. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There have been 3 sightings but it was thought they were the bitch in the area- now knowing it could not be her it could mean Jasper has been in this area all along. There is a second bitch- also in heat not far from the one at Cobham so no doubt his doggie hormones are racing between the two places. Advised owner to re scent this area- and if we get the predicted heavy rain it will need to be done again. the trap is set exreemly close to these sightings and is being freshly baited with new familiar smells. Advised owner to ask around for any one known to have a westie. It maybe this dog gets out and pals up with Jasper. This area is not heavily built up with houses - most is a few farms. there is a B & b not far away and I have emailed them with link to the poster- asking for them to display- especially over the bank holiday. ANYONE going to events near here over the bank holiday- especially the Kent County Garden show at Detling- please plaster your car with posters of this dog- have info to hand and keep a look out. Thanks . CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SIGHTED at 8pm last night at top of Water Lane leading on to Pilgrims Way, outside Cobham Manor. Jasper was mated with a bitch in Cobham Manor and, at first, it was believed the dog sited was this bitch. However, the bitch is in season and has been in a cage for the last week so this siting of a beagle is a possible for Jasper. Been hanging out outside Cobham Manor with a West Highland!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well done louise and excellent that you made the connection straight away and are now on site. don't forget while walking the streets to also pop leaflets through peoples' front doors as well. It increases the pup-search army and also gets people talking. Good luck on this one and well done once again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lousie have sent you a pm re this sighting.Have a few contacts in this area so have alerted them. I think there is a big kids play area called- where 'em out -near by- that would be worth postering inside if they would (maybe by the food area & even on the doors). there are also a lot of local scholls around- Holy Family RC primary plus another ooff wallis avenue ( ?name ) This would be worth attending at coming out time maybe have some smaller posters info to hand out- kids have eagle eyes. If the school would give out the info- esp with a reward that would be even better!CJ Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Since the KM article there have been a few sightings but not sure how reliable. A little girl thought she saw Jasper lying under a bush in Bearsted- she said he looked tired. Another sighting has been in Tovil on a dirt track that leads to a farm plus the one mandy has mentioned at Ditton. All leads are being followed by the owner as much as possible. Owners are now in the precess of moving and will be gone from the pub on Monday. The son is staying behind at the pub in case Jasper makes his way back home. the trap is still set in the garden near the earlier sighting. In this area we now have Jasper and Mutley the JR so if putting up posters for one then do both to spread the word. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks rocky but that is one we are aware of. Owner has already checked it out and not either of the two current missing beagles. they are also aware of these two at the sanctuary so would be on the lookout. But please keep looking as this sort of thing is just what is needed to try and track Jasper down. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A dog was spotted by a fellow dog walker at Leybourne lakes. He was with 3 men ages around 20 plus. Thet called him Jasper and he was a tri coloured beagle. If any one walks in this area please be on the lookout not only at the lakes but any of the surrounding areas- . Owner has posted this area and informed the ranger. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jasper does wander around the area every day and is well known to the locals. Often they will get a call to say Jasper is with us- Ok ? The train he borded was at Harriet station and he went down to Ashford where he was caught and returned by train. He also likes going in cars as well. He has never stayed away this long and its very unlikely that he has got him self lost.He also visits a bitch at Cobham manor riding stables- they are aware he is missing. Owner has notified Maidstone dog warden viking oaks all councils- maidstone medway swale plus RSPCA. The dog is a very good looking dog for breeding and show purposes- from a line of crufts winners. I think it would be worth any locals making sure that their vets are aware of this dog plus any kennels you can think of. As he is an entire dog he may well be searching out a bitch especially around the cobham manor area where he was used as a stud. When locals have posted or notified kennels etc- perhaps they would list areas covered. Thank you C. J.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A dog like this appeared for the first time on a very long lead with a stranger in Jackson's Fields Rochester yesterday morning. The guy was small late 40s wearing a raincoat. New to the dog walks. In the school hols you do see different people from normal, but I'm now going to keep a very sharp eye out and try and engage some casual conversation as we doggie walkers do if I see him againLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
