This has been such a tragic few days for Lucia and all her helpers particularly her foster mum from Spain and her foster mum in UK. It was a freak accident that she went missing and so sad her sightings were not enough to save her from straying onto the busy road. My humble thanks to each and every one who cared.

After having a call from a friend I was told that a dog matching Lucia's description was seen deceased on the A27.I'm on the phone to the Council and msging the search team.
pointers'r'us
so sorry to report, lucia indeed ran on to the A27 at some point, and was unfortunately killed . both of her foster-mums have joined together to pick her up themselves , we're just grateful for everyone's help . devastated that it isnt a better outcome.

Cross posted from fb "Lucia was loose running up the A27 sainsburys turn off last night at around 10.30pm going towards the golf course. She either went left towards A27 Westbound or up the West hove golf course. We tried to catch her but unfortunately she was too frightened and chasing her was actually more dangerous as she was running towards the busy A27. Really hope you find her xxxx" Foster mum made aware by the person who made the sighting.

This beautiful little Pointer, Spaniel size, is very tentative she will watch quietly and then gauge the situation. Noises seem a bit scary to me. However as the days go by we will need all the help we can get! Does anybody have contacts with the local radio or paper even?

Was wondering if anyone in the area has a spy in the sky drone machine that they would use to help find your dog. I know that they often get bad publicity and the noise might be frightening for a dog but it might cut down the hours searching.

Just back from another look around the Southwick Park/Recreation Area. Plenty of posters put up and the foster mum will be putting flyers through people's doors especially those whose garden back onto this park. The council workers said that they would keep an eye out. Strangely the bins were rummaged through in the night and we asked if this was normal (foxes) but he thought not as he said that it would be a nightly thing and that being the case, the council would have had to change the bin design. Lucia's foster mum was found unconscious with her own two dogs but without the foster dog. She must have panicked and bolted. All efforts are being targeted to this park area as per the only 2 sightings, which has a closed down school and many gardens backing onto the land. If anyone does have a sighting, please call...do not try to catch her. Her lead and collar may or may not be still attached: all we know is that she was seen fleeing the accident with it still on.

Hope lovely Lucia in soon back home, safe and well. Bit worrying that she still had her lead on xxx

I have just spoken to Lucia's owner who is thankfully feeling better now and has been out searching (with her son) as have a group of friends and helpers. Many thanks to them.
I'm told that Lucia is very street savvy and is likely to hide herself really well as she has been living that way in Spain.
So far the only sightings have been in the Southwick Park area but no sign of her today.
Posters are up and owner has been out in the early hours to look for Lucia so everything is being done that should be done. Hopefully someone will spot Lucia again soon so that there is a sighting to work from.

If anyone sees Lucia please DO NOT TRY TO CATCH her but ring the telephone number above so that owner can go to the area.

I have forwarded our Doglost advice to her owner although I think she knows most of what is in it already!
Keeping everything crossed that Lucia stays safe and is found very soon.

Hope Lucia will be fpound safe, and well. Stay safe Lucia, until you are found.

Well done and thanks Pointerlady. That's one of the pieces of advice in the email I sent. Network Rail are usually quite good in the area so hopefully they will let their drivers know.
Stay safe Lucia.
Pointerlady
I have advised network rail too as the line from Southwick to Fishersagate is closeby to the first sighting in Southwick rec. Posters have been printed by a helper of the Pointer Rescue Service to display. I hope that she stays safe and is found very soon.

I'm so sorry to see that Lucia has gone missing. Thank you for the updates and I'm pleased to hear that her foster mum is home now.
I have sent you our Doglost email advice which may help you find Lucia. I have shared to Doglost South East, Doglost East Sussex and my pages.
Good to see that she is already on Brighton Dogwatch page as they are a great help when dogs have been lost in the area.
Best of luck and here's hoping Lucia is found very soon.

Foster mum is home from hospital, says Lucia is very tentative, will sit and weigh things up, she does respond to a Gundog whistle, but has been a stray in Spain. Lucia has an orange collar and leather lead on.
Unknown
hope she gets home soon.......stay safe Lucia xx
Pointerlady
Comments picked up from Brighton Dogwatch this morning on FB say that she was seen in the Croft Avenue, Southwick Recreation Ground area. Any locals please be vigilant. This is a rescue dog in foster and only recently arrived from Spain and therefore, lost, frightened and likely to run when approached.
