- Yes I also saw the three of you on the Beeb , Benjy looked none the worse for his adventures (but what goes on in that gorgeous head who knows) and I agree seemed to love all the attention.
The Evening Advertiser our local Swindon newspaper and all the posters really did save the day and of course the fab lady that reported him in her garden,,,,,indeed Benjy did seem to be making for home and the sightings in the area were correct,,,however the ones at S Marston probably were not so I am wondering which dog that was, could it be BEAU 27540?
NB: Another sighting of Katy 27681 to-day.

- Think they had to be careful what they said re. Advertising as it was on the BBC. The name of the search company wasn't mentioned and neither was our business name.

- So pleased this boy is back home. Stay safe now xx

- Well just seen Benjy on the news he looks good and not a bit worried about it all in fact was loving the attention. So pleased this boy is home well done all who help to get him home. I think posters do work and it kept this boy in the public eye. Welcome home you little star Benjy stay safe now. Would just like to add I was a bit sad that dog lost was not mentioned but we all know how much this sight dose to get the amount of dogs home and safe. and dose not always get the credit for what they do. But still pleased this dog is back Last edited: 2011-02-05 10:11:37 by doglady

- Thank you for your concerns for benjy. He was actually given the all clear by the vet this afternoon and is in very good shape. I am sure the tight security at television centre will not allow anything to happen to him and I'm sure it is a great opportunity for publicity for the rep for the national dog charity who are accompanying him.

- Fantstic news , sorry not been able to post before now, but did know Benjy was safe, as I have been looking for Katy 27681 as there was a sighting last night. Well done owners for pulling out all the stops to get your boy back,,,take care now Benjy xxx

- Welcome Home Benji, back where you belong at last!,I must say I have to agree with the last three posts ,Benji will be feeling a bit unsettled for a while and also extremely tired after living on his wits for the last couple of weeks and probably has not had alot of sleep in this time...as soon as I saw hes going to London the first thing that popped into my head is What if he gets spooked in London?? he may well be quite jumpy at the moment and is quite likely to be that way for a while. Please please give him time to rest and settle.
- 2011-02-04 18:55 Angus
- I am over the moon that Benjy is home safe BUT I have to say that I agree totally with the last two posts - Benjy has been on the run close to home for the last two and a bit weeks and will still adjusting back to his life as a pet rather than a dog having to fend for himself - what if the unthinkable happens and he goes missing in London it just does not bear thinking of - please give him a bit of time to recover before getting the camera crews in.
- 2011-02-04 18:39 Mollychops
- Im so pleased at last this little monkey is home, but I absolutley agree with Father Ted, any dog in this situation, needs rest and quiet at home to recover from what was for Benjy an horrific experience, he DOES NOT need a media circus, I hope his owners will respect this, and do waht is right for BenjyLast edited: 2011-02-04 18:47:00 by Mollychops
- 2011-02-04 18:31 Father Ted
- I am so pleased that Benjy is home but I am very worried that taking him to London for TV interview so soon after his ordeal is just such a bad idea - after 2 1/2 weeks on the run he should really be allowed to catch up on his rest as he will not have slept much over the last couple of weeks, this 'repair' time is essential for his recovery and well being.
How was he actually captured ? - 2011-02-04 18:20 doglover1
- Great news, Welcome home Benjy xxx

- So pleased to see this one is back home safe and sound. No doubt he got fed up being chased around by hi viz jackets and decided home was a better option.
If only they could talk no doubt he would have a few tails to tell!! - 2011-02-04 15:58 Unknown

- Here's a website with directions and a map of Nightingale Wood. Really hope that is useful, fingers crossed:

- Not sure if they've checked there. (he's my mother in laws dog) No sightings since Sunday. I'll ask. Thank you for looking in on us!
- 2011-02-03 15:59 Divadon
- Keep checking to see if Benjy has been found yet and I look out for him when out and about in Swindon. Just wondered about Nightingale Wood (I think that is what its called), which is just outside of South Marston village. There are lots of fields and places around there that Benjy might find to hideout. Keeping everything crossed that Benjy will be home soon.
- 2011-02-01 08:05 Reynard
- GREAT!!!!!
- 2011-01-31 22:20 Shez13
- Further sightings in south marston. Posters going up in the village this evening.
- 2011-01-30 21:50 Shez13
- No sightings today. None since Friday.
- 2011-01-29 21:32 Reynard
- Thats sad Shez13 seems Benjy is disorientated and not sure which way to go,,,Just to remind you that scenting & feeding can work well as it can keep a dog to one area so do scent where he was last seen and surrounding area and if there is outbuildings he may feel comfortable there for the time being & do be careful when searching as loud voices & calling his name etc can scare a dog that has been on the run and living on his wits, another dog as you say may be good as can gain his confidence, so fingers crossed hope you have better luck tomorrow xxxLast edited: 2011-01-30 12:19:29 by Reynard

- No sightings of benjy today after lots during the week. Pet detectives out today with newspaper and radio coverage too. Thinking maybe he's outside urban Swindon now as the last sighting was close to south marston which is a long way out :-/
- 2011-01-28 22:55 Unknown
- Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Liz xx
- 2011-01-28 22:37 Reynard
- Brilliant ! seems this sighting could be the one Good Luck!
- 2011-01-28 20:06 Shez13
- Sighting today near south marston. So far away from every other sighting :-/ pet detectives here tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
- 2011-01-28 06:23 Shez13
- Still getting sightings all over Swindon every day! Doesn't seem to be any pattern. By the time we get to the sighting spot, he's gone again. Have passed scenting info on to mother in law (he's her dog). Got pet detectives here again at the weekend with newspaper and radio coverage too. They're bringing their sniffer dog
- 2011-01-26 20:48 Nina
- Shez13 have you been given scenting intructions. If you havent I am sure if you ask on here or contact admin@doglost.co.uk they can get some to you.
- 2011-01-25 23:25 Unknown
- Hope you catch him soon. All the best Liz xx

- Great there is a full body photo of him, I've grouped together and uploaded, also updated the details to show up on the DL poster. Jan x
- 2011-01-25 19:17 Reynard
- I have found another photo of Benjy and as you can see he looks like a GSD with short legs, & therefore very distinctive!
Glad you have another sighting Shez13, Frobisher Drive is Walcot and down from there is the (Famous) Magic Roundabout so it seems to me this poor lad is on his way home to Rushey Platt as this is in the general direction,,,,,,would you normaly take this route by car as I think he is traveling the way he knows & sees from the Car Window, so perhaps the next point to be looking out for him would be Park Lane/ Westcott place sort of area or the Bus Station/Town Centre/Old Town,,, which ever route you normaly take and get a head of him if that makes sense Good Luck!

- it might be worth scenting now some smells of you and if your poster is saying jack Russel this should be changed and put as German Shepherd. Thanks Majorjet for pointing that GSD dose stand for German Shepherd.
- 2011-01-25 18:16 Shez13
- Sighting on Frobisher drive today so assuming he has moved on from where he was lost and there have also been sightings near magic roundabout and old town. He's been gone a whole week this evening :-/

- Shez13 yes a GSD is a German Shepherd Dog. Have you got any more photo/s of him ideally a full body shot? Great he is in the paper and there has also been more sightings of him. Keeping everything crossed he is back home with you soon. Good luck. Jan x
BUMPED due to article in paper and SIGHTINGS. - 2011-01-24 20:47 Shez13
- Several sightings reported today but over a huge area - including drove road near magic roundabout and broome manor! Add in the haydon sighting and the ones close to the place he was lost and he could be anywhere!
- 2011-01-24 20:45 Shez13
- Is gsd a german shep? If so, yes, that's his colouring but he's no where near the size of one - more the size of a jack russell
- 2011-01-24 20:33 doglady
- It may be me but the dog in the photo looks more like a GSD, just saying as it is saying Breed Jack Russell cross.
- 2011-01-24 16:06 Goldenfrodo
- Good luck. Hope Benjy is safely home very soon x

- I am cross posting this from BEAU'S page as both dogs are missing from Swindon
" Sighting of a Beagle in the miniature railway at Coate water on thursday,(20th) then ran off along the top footpath by the sand park. Rode around Coate, back of the golf course and up by nationwide to have a look around. Where are you Beau? x "
Will do the same (crossposting) for BENJY) Last edited: 2011-01-22 15:26:05 by Reynard - 2011-01-22 08:04 Reynard

- Thanks again Reynard and divadon! We really appreciate you help. Have done a lot of searching last few days - been to crematorium, caravan park yesterday and also driven large section of a419 (thank goodness no sighting there if you know what I mean!) struggled to gain accress to the b and q site (def an eyesore) but no joy. Large organised search party venturing out today for the whole day. Fingers crossed. Will update later and have told them to keep an eye out for beau.
- 2011-01-21 16:28 Reynard
- Thanks Divadon for you help , can you please also look out for Beau 27540 as a dog like her was sighted in Hyaydon Wick area last night!
Could be either Benjy or Beau as similair colurings , thats why I always say owners should help each other whilts looking and Postering for one it can also help the other. - 2011-01-20 22:52 Divadon
- Posted Moulden Hill country park today whilst out walking and have given posters to a friend who works in the Dorcan mail sorting office, asked him to pass a poster to the postperson who covers Stratton.

- Thanks Reynard. Got your e mail. Will pop up to the b and q site tomorrow am - my son will be impressed at least! Benjy lives in rushey platt, which is quite a hike from where he was lost.

- Shez13 sent email again but do check your Spam folder as may be there.
Just had a thought have you contacted the builders putting up the new B&Q Warehouse (fippin eyesaw!) opposite the Crematorian, that building is megga high they may have seen something and also contact the Crem as many peeps are up there and is open countryside.
Also perhaps add a mobile number ( unless someone is at the end of the land line 24 7) , in case there is a sightingLast edited: 2011-01-20 19:27:47 by Reynard - 2011-01-20 13:14 Shez13
