Saw this article in the paper, I hope you get some news soon. ~Family distraught after dog is stolen~ September 9, 2004 15:03~ A MOTHER today warned all dog owners in Norwich to be on their guard after her beloved family pet was stolen from outside a shop. Linda and her four-year-old son Kyle, from Hellesdon, have been left heartbroken at the loss of two year old Tia. Tia was stolen on Monday at about 3pm, when Linda's sister Margaret was out with Kyle, Tia and her own dog Barleykevin, a Shar Pei, Labrador cross. They had gone to the Wendene Shopping Centre in Bowthorpe and Kyle had popped into a shop to get a drink. After a few minutes his aunt thought she had best check on Kyle and tied up the dogs outside the Roys store before popping in. It was at this point that a man in one of the other shops spotted a youth with Tia and Barleykevin. Linda said: "He untied both dogs and left the leads. He put Tia under his arm and was whistling to the other dog. "The man thought they were his dogs until my sister and son came out and all the resulting commotion ensued, with my son asking where the dog had gone." Barleykevin had stood his ground and not gone with the youth, but as Tia was so small, she was easily picked up. Linda has reported the theft to the police and has also put up posters in local shops and given them to the local postmen in a bid to track Tia down. Kristina Raines, spokeswoman for Norfolk police, said a witness had seen a "young lad" walking up the road with the dog. She added: "The dog's lead was left behind. The dog was wearing a collar with a name tag on it." While the search continues for Tia, Linda has had to put Tia's basket and toys away in the conservatory and try and comfort Kyle, who has been inconsolable at the loss of his pet. "It's upset him tremendously. He's started full time-school this week so this couldn't have happened at a worse time. He's just crying and that's nLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
