TWIGGY IS STILL MISSING and has NOT BEEN FOUND. Thanks Rainycali for your local help, as you know owner lives miles away and really appreciates your assistance. There have been many cases when dogs have been found and finder has not reported them to the DW, even though it is a Legal requirement of a found dog.  The finder has looked after them and it is not until they have seen a poster they have contacted the owner.  This has been just the case on a local dog to me (BEN ID 18321) and he was Chipped still in the area and finder seen a poster. There was also another reunited which finder did not see a poster until five weeks later, again not reported to DW and Chipped but was being looked after.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We've had a phone call this morning from a 'dog owner' in the area asking us to take the posters down, as they 'have been up for some time now' and 'this is a very nice area which we like to keep tidy' also he said 'let's be honest, she's probably been stolen or is down a hole' Why is there aways one?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Twiggy is advertised in 7 local newspapers until 9th May. We have exhausted all local contacts, including Bradwall Horse Trials. All fellow eventing competitors are aware that she is missing. Yesterday I saw Twiggy's mothers Mum,(Twiggy is most like her mum) all are missing her and supporting us. I think not knowing is the worst thing. Thanks to all who have helped and supported us so far.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner's relative tonight, they have been doing a brilliant job spreading the word, but do need local help due to the distance they live.  They feel helpless with being so far away from where she went missing, it a good few hours drive. The Fell & Moorland WTC have helped in the search checking out a wooded area and family are full of praise for the work they have done.  Have discussed media coverage and passed some numbers on for papers to try.  Owner will update us a.s.a.p. on where they have postered in the area.  They need that one poster to get in the right area and get the sightings or someone who knows where Twiggy is.  Good luck with the media coverage, will put her forward for CMW.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner - So sorry Twiggy has gone missing. Your poster can be printed from her page by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 on the left hand side above the dogs details box. Please get as many posters up as you can, immediately, and inform all authorities, Dog Warden, Rescues, Police, and vets  in case she has been picked up. It is important that you check with your local pounds every day. Its best if you visit in person as dogs can be rehomed after seven days if not claimed. Good luck and hope she's back home soon.
