"Dog spotted crossing railway line at berryden within last 30mins.
Similar colour and features to Memphis. Could be anyone's dog - but anyone close to this area, appreciate if you can take a look if you have visibility of the railway line.
Potentially heading north on the line.
Couple of searchers heading out now to look.
Networkrailscot and drivers have been alerted, no sign on initial search from vantage points.
*PLEASE if searching do not go near the line itself or Anywhere close - I know it is common sense - but even if you spot the dog , do not under any circumstances try to retrieve it yourself - Network Rail Scot would need to be contacted*
Sighting timeline:
19/07/2021 - Aberdeen berryden crossing railway line."

"The summer holidays are here and we should be taking our Memphis out for lots of adventures, 9 weeks have passed already and he's still out there somewhere possibly having adventures on his own.
As the schools are out, we are all more likely to be out and about in the countryside enjoying the good weather, so please keep Memphis in mind and let us know immediately if you think you spot a lone dog that could be a match. We would rather get a call and check it out for it not to be him, than get no calls at all. You can call us any time of day or night: 07766467626 or 07950604720 - that invitation does not extend to scammers, extorters or people wishing to send us abuse, we've had enough of those thanks.
No sightings in the last couple of weeks but we remain positive, hopefuly and always greatful for your support. Through this horrible time, the positive that has arisen has been meeting so many new and amazing people in and around the village - despite us being here for 10yrs, plus all the compassion and support from everyone near and far.
As any dog(or cat etc.) owner will testify, Memphis isn't just a pet he's one of our family and we look forward to the day when we find him.

Latest info from Memphis's FB page.....
"Hi all,

There are no new sightings since last weekends potential spot in Leask, south of Hatton. It is our strongest lead that we have, that it was him at the Moss Croft Country Kennels. Having visitied there several times now, it is clear that it is not a place that you pass through or go to take your dog for a walk... so the fact that a golden coloured working cocker spaniel was spotted there alone is encouraging for us. To our knowledge, no other golden working cockers have been reported missing in the area.

We did multiple visits/searches of the area, including leaving night cameras, food, scenting stations etc. but there was no sign of him there again. Thank you to Moss Croft Country Kennels for their support and assistance - it's a great place, kennels look fantastic.

We know that there can be only 3 possibilities for Memphis:

1) He is still on the move.
2) He is injured, stuck or incapacitated.
3) He has been stolen.

If it is 1) then we expect at some point, someone somewhere will spot him again. We ask that people keep an eye out in the Ellon areas including: Mintlaw, Maud, Newdeer, Methlick and all the smaller villages and places around about. Also North to Hatton and East to Cruden Bay.

If it is 2) then we are not going to find him, unless we stumble across him. We appreciate everyone who is still looking for him on their walks around Newtonhill, Chapleton and all surrounding areas. Don't give up and maybe try new places if you are out walking your own dogs. It is possible that he could have found his way into a badger sett and become stuck, but Memphis was unusually big and strong for a working cocker, so hopefully not the case.

If it is 3) then we hope he was taken to sell and the buyers would obviously take him to a Vet where we would then be alerted. If someone has bought him, we would obviously give the buyer their money back

Keep Memphis in mind, it can only be one of the above 3 scenarios.

Thanks for your time.

"Hi folks, another long shot .. but a "golden spaniel" was seen running free In the Leask area just south of Hatton near the Moss Croft Country Kennels.
Anyone in that area(or anyone you know), Hatton, Leask, Cruden Bay, collieston - please keep an eye out and take a photo if you spot it - this is so important. Then let us know asap. 🙏🏻
If it's not our Memphis, then it will be someone else's family member.
Thank you guys.

Owner post from MEMPHIS is missing
"**Latest potential sighting**

Hi folks, after a quiet spell of no sightings we recieved a message today that one of the builders at Chapleton of Elsick had seen a dog matching memphis description behind Brio / Retirement homes on Wednesday 12th May running free without owner.

It is of course possible that he has found a comfortable base nearby and is dipping in and out of Chapleton, potentially looping around the area. It's another sighting of him and gives us hope he is still close by.

Can we ask that if you think you spot Memphis or someone tells you they have, please take a photo or a video so we can rule it in/out. Even if you are very unsure, please give us a call as soon as possible after the sighting day or night as it increases our chances of locating him.

I'm sure you know by now, but if you spot him don't run towards him or shout his name - just keep him in view and call us asap.
07766467626 or 07950604720

We are humbled by the support and help we are receiving from the Newtonhill community and the people of Chapleton and further afield. We can't thank you enough.
