Hi Max's family - just to let you know that I plan to put posters up around the Heads of the Valley road area just in case he has been taken and is on the move! Hope the lovely old man is back with you soon - don't give up - miracles do happen (I speak from experience!) Good luck to Max and you all! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just a thought, if Max isn't able to walk very far but seemed to disappear, are there any sheds/outhouses etc. close by that he could be locked in? xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Max's Mum & Dad..........no need to thank me at all........just wished we could have had a better outcome the other night. Did you contact the Evening Post as I suggested ?? And it would be worthwhile postering as much as possible. Maybe a thought, but you could also poster Margam Park and inform the wardens there, just in case. I will continue to keep my eyes open.....if you need any help, just get in touch. Best wishes, Nina.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Myself and my family would like to thank all of you especially the sheltie lady for your help and support at this tragic time. Max came to us nearly a year ago vastly overweight and full of matted fur.He fitted in with our other two dogs and three cats extremely well and has never been aggressive or ill tempered he is a real sweetie . We cannot believe Max has gone as he is so clingy and never looks to go anywhere without us. We live in a semi rural area with only one neighbour .I had come from work to allow tradesmen into the house at which time I let Max and one of our other dogs into the garden. The tradesmen were only there for around 10mins before I noticed Max was missing, one of our gates were open and one of our other dogs was outside. If Max had gone outside, the ground he would have covered I would easily have made up because of his slow pace,so we can only assume someone has taken him. Why, we have no idea as Max is extremely difficult to get into a vehicle and the only value he has is his value to us.The other pets miss him so much and are constantly pining for him. Please please help us find him and once again thank you for all your help and support. Got to agree with Downey on this one. Why dont you ask for the vets e mail address and send poster to them? If you put e mail address on send to a freind just below photo of Max the poster can be e mailed to them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I may be speaking out of turn here but if I was the owners I would go to the Vets and just to check for peace of mind. Sheltie Lady you saw a dog similar to Max, OLD ARTHRITIC !!! he may of been stolen and let go once they saw how old he was etc etc. I WOULD NOT rely on just a phone conversation with the Vet I am afraid I would have to go and check. How many times do Dog Homes say they have not got a dog matching the description and it is sitting there looking at them. Please advise them to go and check. I am too far away otherwise I would be up there. Hope for good news soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dont beat yourself up Sheltie Lady this wasn't your fault, far too many people just look the other way when they see a dog out alone, how many lost dogs have been reunited with overjoyed owners because us Dog Lost people did take the time to look and care. Please do not stop looking and caring.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BAD NEWS I'M AFRAID........THE OWNERS PHONED ME LATE LAST NIGHT FROM THEIR MOBILE, THEY WERE IN MORRISTON LOOKING TO CATCH SIGHT OF THE COLLIE I HAD SEEN. TWO POLICE MEN WERE THERE AND TOLD OWNERS THAT A DOG OF THE SAME DESCRIPTION HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN RTA AT 7 OCLOCK LAST NIGHT AND TAKEN TO A VETS IN SWANSEA. AFTER RINGING AROUND A BIT, THE OWNERS SPOKE TO THE VET AND CONFIRMED THAT IT DID NOT APPEAR TO BE THEIR MAX. SO, THE DOG I HAD SEEN WAS NOT MAX, OWNERS BELIEVE HIM TO HAVE BEEN STOLEN ( FROM GARDEN, IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE THE ONLY POSSIBILITY ), I HAVE ADVISED OWNERS TO CONTACT LOCAL PAPER TO HAVE A FEATURE DONE. I FEEL DEVASTATED FOR THE COLLIE WHICH WAS INVOLVED IN THE RTA....I BLAME MYSELF FOR HIS ACCIDENT..HAD I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HAVE STOPPED AND CAUGHT HIM, HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HIT BY A CAR.... I HAVE JUST CONTACTED THE OWNER BY PHONE - EARLIER THIS EVENING I SAW A DOG VERY SIMILAR TO THIS ONE AT MORRISTON CROSS, OUTSIDE THE POST OFFICE, HE HAD A VERY STRANGE WALK ( I COULD SEE HE WAS OLD AND ARTHRITIC ), I WAS DRIVING SO COULDN'T STOP AT THE LIGHTS, THERE WAS A POLICE WOMAN AND A COMMUNITY POLICE OFFICER CHATTING TO SOMEONE NERA BY. MAY BE WORTH CALLING IN TO THE POLICE STATION IN CASE THEY SAW THE DOG AND MAYBE PICKED HIM UP. OWNER WILL TRY TO GO TO MORRISTON AND TAKE A LOOK. IT IS ABOUT 8 MILES FROM WHERE HE LIVES, BUT, IT DID LOOK LIKE HIM. I DESCRIBED THE WAY THE DOG I SAW WAS WALKING AND OWNER CONFIRMED. ANYONE IN MORRISTON AREA WHO COULD HELP ? I WILL DRIVE THRU THERE TOMORROW. FINGERS CROSSED. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
