There is a found Rottweiler in the found section. SK3 probably with the dog warden. 127289. SK3 isn't that far from the motorway exit. Fingers crossed as no photo xx

Tweeting DL link with the two photos on here and tagging in others. Someone must recognise these two women- they can call 101 or doglost in confidence and we will pass on the names of the thieves- also they can always phone crime stoppers anonymously.

I don't think I've ever made a negative comment on doglost but I really do hate to see judgmental comments directed at owners who are already upset. No doubt they'll be looking at this entry at some point. Doglost is here to be helpful not make people feel worse. Judging owners for not knowing how rife dog theft is is wrong. Not everybody knows and that's a fact. We all bleat on about how there isn't enough media coverage about this problem so it's obvious isn't it that not everyone knows. The person who left her outside the post office is 84 YEARS OLD. I'm very sorry for the owner and I hope this baby is found safe. I'll share poster to Facebook.

despite all warnings about smoking drink driving on phone when driving and leaving your dog outside shops very, very sadly its happening all the time everywhere. heaven knows why a very large and obviously older adult dog would interest thieves............. do wonder if dog thieves are known to owner???? do hope this has a happy ending

What a gorgeous girl. I know this isn't a helpful comment and may be deleted but when will people believe that dogs are regularly stolen from outside shops. Could DogLost make a warning headline on their website. So many times I wait outside shops to safeguard dogs tied up and all I get from owners is abuse for "sticking my nose in." I hope this lovely girl is home soon. A lesson needs to be learned from this sad scenario.

I saw a similar dog near Cambridge CB24 this morning. I thought it was a much younger dog but can send you a picture. I've registered it on here 126941. Emailed pic to them so hope it will be uploaded soon. Went back with a lead but no sign of dog...

***Crossposted *** Update on CCTV

Due to Data Protection we cannot show the footage.

However, the pictures show 2 individuals passing the gentleman with the dog and then loitering near bushes until he enters the shop. They then quickly cut the collar, put on their own slip lead and walked back in the direction they had come.

-1st person is likely a lady of large build, wearing a green Parker style coat and black tracksuit pants and trainers with a black beanie hat with a logo on the front.

-2nd person is of smaller build wearing a black Superdry coat, lightwash blue denim jeans and a pale coloured baseball cap.
