I looked at this Emily but I can't get into it either now. I'm sure it wasn't Bruce, as The Dogmother says, white chest markings were different. Also thought that white on feet didn't match but better if the owner looks as they can tell straight away if there's a chance it's their dog. Why don't you contact admin off that site admin@rescuehelpersunite.co.uk and send them the link below. Explain that you need to look at that particular thread to see if this is your dog. The thread may have been archived etc but should still be accessible to admin.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Bruces owner, I've just had a look at the DDB Welfare website and noticed you already have Bruce advertised on there, I don't want to speak out of turn but the ad reads that he has minimal white JUST to his toes but your pic on here shows he has the common white markings on his chest, I was just thinking that the other ad might be slightly misleading as anyone reading it will get the impression he doesn't have the white chest (as some DDB's don't) maybe you could alter the ad or send the pic thats on this site?, I really hope you don't think I'm speaking out of turn, I just want to see you get your boy back. I looked at Ballou on pets 4 home up for stud, he did look the same as Bruce but the website was so professional www.wrightsbee.com that I felt that it must be genuine. I really do hope that you find him soon, he is chipped, so if he gets poorly you may get lucky.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I not the one to give any advice, just concerned for you and your dog Bruce. Why don't you PM your area co-ordinator for advice she may be able to put you onto the person that dealt with the recent case of the DDB put up for stud in Croydon. The owner made an appointment to take a bitch along, met the police there and got her dog back, she was 99 percent sure that this was her dog. I have seen your ads and look out for ads selling ddb's or ddb up for stud. I wish you the very best of luck in finding Bruce, he can't just have disappeared off the face of the earth, such a handsome boy. Kind RegardsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi, still no news on bruce but looking for a little advice. ive posted adds all over the internet and am constantly looking for adverts selling male ddb or studs which sound like they could possibly be bruce. however, im struggling with finding out if its him or not. when i ring, i dont know what to say without scaring them off or offending them. ive even had people calling me quite angry for insinuating that they have my dog. dont want to give up the search but like i said, how can i do this without causing problems. thanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to let you all know. I checked with the rescue centre. The DDB in there was on holiday. He belongs to one of the helper / fundraisers there. I hadn't realised it was the same BIG puppy I'd met at the christmas fayer early december. So it's not missing Bruce. I'll email his details to all teh people I know to jog memories though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw a dog de bordeaux in a bording kennel near Northampton at the weekend. I've just emailed the kennel to ask them to scan and check the microchip to make sure he's not your boy. It occurs to me that if you were to steal a dog to keep for yourself, then paying for a boarding kennel for a couplke of months would keep him out of sight until the dust settles. It's probably not him - but it's worth asking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please don't give up Bruce's owner, he's out there somewhere, I keep looking at my Bordeaux Harley and wondering how I'd feel if he went missing, all I can say is I know I'd be devastated, they (to me) are the most gorgeous and comical breed of dog and although not exactly rare, you don't see too many of them about, keep going, keep postering, keep badgering the police, don't give up on your boy. I am too far away to offer any help with posters but I am sending very positive thoughts your way and hope you get your boy back very soon. Do make sure you take all the advice given to poster as much as you can ! It really does raise public awareness and gets results ! Also try to get press coverage. I fell in love with this breed of dog when i was involved with the theft of 3 puppies locally. They are such a fantastic dog and true gentle giants. Such a striking dog that just cant go unoticed and you will make him too hot to handle with lots of posters! Good luck and i truly hope you gtet som e news of handsome Bruce very soon !
