- Hello!
Do you know if Ruby's owner is a member of Doglost Oxfordshire?
If she is, I can put Ruby Dog forward to appear in our 'Advent Calender' campaign.
love from Lisa. x - 2017-10-13 07:03 Andrea ORegan

- Found female terrier cross in Banbury area 120462 looks very similar to Ruby although it says the found dog not microchipped but I think as chips can move it is worth looking into this one? Will text owner to suggest checking out.

- Mav has the CRN been sent to stolen@doglost.co.uk?
- 2017-09-18 01:34 T
- Ruby has been reported to the police
- 2017-09-17 09:26 Mary
- Andrea. It would seem to me that Ruby should be reported to the police as stolen and obtain a CRN. Send the CRN to stolen@doglost.co.uk. This can then be updated to stolen.
- 2017-09-17 08:33 Andrea ORegan
- Ruby, missing for 4 months, time we had a phone call to say you are safe.
- 2017-07-27 19:54 Ellie
- I can't help thinking that if she has passed away then why has her body not been found? Still seems very strange to me!
- 2017-07-26 13:53 Andrea ORegan
- I will never give up on Ruby, she's like a boomerang, been missing for much longer periods in past having been stolen, found and not reported to the authorities,
- 2017-07-25 07:50 LindaT
- I live in Chinnor and sadly the posters here for missing dogs often get taken down either by folk who think they make the village untidy or a parish council worker. Same thing in Bledlow village and Bradenham village, I`ve actually witnessed this happen and spoken to the people doing it. It`s a great pity if this is the same thing happening in Copcourt area in that case :-( I do hope that at some point Ruby`s family find out what has happened to Ruby and at the very least get closure.

- email from owner..There have been two mentions about the lack of postering around the area Ruby went missing. We have put posters up once and someone took them all down!! Everyone that lives in the area that she was living in knows of her disappearance. Our gut tells us that she must have passed away. The lack of sightings and the circumstances in which she just 'vanished' together with the length of time lead us to this conclusion. Although we will always keep our fingers crossed :(
- 2017-07-24 10:05 Ellie
- Any more news on Ruby Yet?
- 2017-07-10 20:02 LindaT
- I passed by on the Tetsworth/Postcombe Road at the weekend and still haven`t seen any posters out for Ruby. Have you been to Attington Stud just before you get into Tetsworth? They may have seen or heard someone mention seeing Ruby, assuming she simply wandered away of her own accord? It`s been such a while now for nothing to have been reported back.
- 2017-07-10 10:21 Ellie
- So Andrea who do you think has taken her? As you say, she is too old for the usual thieves to take her, which leaves two options. The first is that something untoward has happened to her ie. she's fallen in the moat. Or secondly, someone that knows and wants her has taken her! It's a process of elimination really!
- 2017-06-27 09:33 Andrea ORegan
- Rubes has been missing for 6 weeks now, where is she? She's to old for the usual thieves to have taken her.
- 2017-06-11 16:17 LindaT
- I drove from Chinnor to Oxford via Aston Rowant, Postcombe and Tetsworth this morning and back an hour ago and turned off at Postcombe onto the Thame Rd so I could do a loop past the Copcourt turning. I didn't see a single poster put up for Ruby, even though there is a handy wooden telegraph pole on the Copcourt turning entrance. Postering can be so important ... can anyone in your family do some and get them on poles on the verges? Last edited: 2017-06-11 16:18:10 by LindaT

- I do hope you get her back soon. Do keep us posted if possible.
- 2017-06-07 02:23 T
- There is definitely a moat. As I am at the house daily, I search everywhere, as does the two farmers, wives, children, the 6 other people that live in the hamlet are also continually looking out for her. The game keepers are out and about again so more eyes on the ground.
We all believe that she has been stolen. The next step will be the police. - 2017-06-06 14:10 Ellie
- There doesn't seem to be a moat if you look at the more recent photos of it, but that doesn't exclude any other form of water ie pond.
- 2017-06-06 07:45 LindaT
- I spoke to a friend yesterday who worked at Copcourt quite a few years ago who says there was a deep moat around the house with swans and a huge amount of land and outbuildings. Would it be possible that Ruby ended up in the water? Could a search party help you?

Ellie..... my gut has told me something for a while now.

- You are spot on there!Dogs don't just disappear into thin air. No sightings, no body, very suspect indeed. I don't want to start a feud but as your partners ex didn't want to give the chip number, I found that straight away suspicious. If she had been involved with Ruby even for just a small time she should have been up for helping out. However if she already has the dog then she wouldn't want you to have the number would she?
Is it possible that she has 'kidnapped' Ruby or somebody she knows has? - 2017-06-01 13:35 T
- Can't be any more explicit than she disappeared from our feet infront of our front door and have stated the place already.
Hedgerows are checked all the time.
The way in which she disappeared is almost ridiculous! The fact that there have been no sightings or even a body turn up is even more ridiculous. There is a big piece missing in this puzzle.
And someone out there knows something and not letting on ! - 2017-06-01 06:33 LindaT
- As Ruby was tagged is it possible she has gone off suddenly after a bird/animal and got caught up in the hedgerow by the collar? Have you re-checked any area like this again in case she wasn`t stuck previously but perhaps has got caught up trying to make her way back to you? Can you make it clearer about where the actual place Ruby has gone missing from?
- 2017-05-31 10:00 Ellie
- Is it possible that your partners Ex knows more about this situation than she's letting on???
- 2017-05-29 21:31 T
- She was at my mothers feet infront of our front door. There one minute and vanished the next. No cellars, all farmers in area are aware. Many don't use social media so I contacted them directly. Lewknor rehoming centre a mile down road are aware. All barns and garages and out buildings checked daily. She was well aware of her surroundings as she lived there. Liked to chase wildlife..... but there was no noise when she vanished.
Still no sightings or news. :( Last edited: 2017-05-30 20:30:28 by T - 2017-05-24 11:33 Ellie
- Is there anymore advice you can give us on where Ruby disappeared from? Without knowing the details it will be difficult to pick a starting point?
- 2017-05-22 11:59 Andrea ORegan
- More detailed description of Ruby
Docked Tail, no tattoo
Facial scars - lip partially missing on right hand side and scars on rear end
White patch on chest
2 white toes on both hind feet although greying so no so obvious - 2017-05-21 18:46 LindaT
- I`m sorry to read that Ruby is not reunited yet. Did she go missing from Copcourt itself or near Copcourt area? I guess you have checked all the verges and nearby hedgerows, the road there is so fast and very rural. I do hope there is some news soon for you.
- 2017-05-21 18:02 T
- Still not home :(
- 2017-05-20 09:52 Ellie
- Sorry, might be obvious but have you checked all out houses, barns, sheds etc? I don't know how she went missing , so not sure where to start. Did she disappear from the house or on a walk, or the garden? I don't think she would have been stolen because thieves tend to go for younger dogs often of breeding age or where they can make a quick buck! Is there a cellar?

Will add it asap.

- Your partners ex obviously doesn't care about Ruby's welfare. Would your vet practice have a note of the microchip, my dog's number was written on her vaccination record and in their computer records I think. May be worth asking them to help?
- 2017-05-18 14:14 T
- Ruby is still missing ,
We have searched our area, phoned dog warden, blue cross and a few other places/ people.
We cannot obtain her Microchip My parents are distraught as she was with them at the time.
Keeping our fingers crossed. Thank you for helping by sharing our post . Last edited: 2017-06-09 01:43:03 by T - 2017-05-18 08:15 Lisa P - Regional Co-ordinator, Central

- Have sent message to someone I know who has house on the windy road between Postcombe and Thame which I think is the road past Copcourt. I do hope this old girl finds her way back across the fields and doesn`t stray onto the very busy roads around there. Blue Cross is just down the road as already suggested, also Stokenchurch dog rescue centre.

- Sorry to see that RUBY is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (115042)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.

- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
