chelzea if the park warden came along in this park, do you think that he may have got the registration number of the van, would it be possible for someone in that area to contact the park warden and enquire if he had, i assume that any kind of van that shouldnt be there should be noted.....just a thoughtLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

About 2 weeks ago travellers parked at racetrack & a white Acorn van was with them working as gardners-i saw them them in some silly persons garden then my boyf saw them up racetrack later! A Brindle lurcher pup went missing from a scrap yard while they were here. If knew earlier would have got reg but they mite be back other travellers still here-unfortunatly! PS Anyone collecting old clothes for charity should have ID and a number you can ring. Check them out if they come to your house.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you for all that info Chelzea. Acorn Landscape Gardening should be aware of this van as Jazzi spoke to them last time it was active. The problem is that when firms sell off their old vans, buyers don't always remove logos (which by law they should) and then they sometimes represent themselves as members of the firm. Always check the ID of people from firms, and call the firm if you are doubtful. Bona fide contractors should not object to this. Another thing to remember is that genuine Acorn people will not be going from door to door asking if you have any gardening jobs! I have a report that a van with green lettering and logo is being sought in connection with dog thefts in N Shropshire and also Tewkesbury. Police are aware and involved. Hi all i been looking on your site and it scares me to think that so many dogs get stollen. we have 2 dogs 8 and 9 month old dogs and we get so many youths round our area checking them out when we go out im affraid i would get robbed for them when i go out alone as we have 2 popular dogs. we recenly noticied someone has removed our harris rail from the bottom of the post at the end of our garden creating enough room the push it wide enough open to be able to get our dogs out. the main reason i have now joined tho is cause this van you are on about we had one that was like PETCH said with two shaved head guys in who were collecting old clothes the sort that leave you with the bag thu your door on the monday and asking you to leave any old clothes you may have out for collection on the thursday. well this van had gone up our road and i was taking our dogs up our local park when i see the guy gettin a bag from a house putting it into the van, when the guy see me coming from a distance as he was going to get into his van he stopped and ran toward me i wraped the the dogs leads round my hands tight worried he was going to dgar them off me case the van started reversing, as he got up to me he started putting his hand out puffing out of breath saying "how olds ur english love" i shouted at him and if he was innocent i am sorry but i was swearing at him tellin him not to try touching her he kept coming with his hand out and i kicked my leg toward him scream to get the f***away or he would be a sorry man, he backed off when the driver by this time was next to me double parked with someone in a car waiting to pass him beebing told him to leave it, this could be innocent or a coicenedce but this was around 3/ or 4 months ago and a little while after that an english was stolen from he's garden in se16 and days before this a woman was approched by 2 men in a white van within southwark park itself in se16 area. they drove into the park where public aint meant to drive Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Should have said, I'm not insinuating that this is not a bona fide company. If the police have previously been involved maybe they are already aware of this business.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The dreaded White Transit van with Acorn logo has been sighted in the Midlands twice this week. First alert is from the Walsall area, they tried to drive the van through the kennel gates and pass the security. Luckily staff stood in front of vehicle to stop it. 3 White Male occupants all had shaven heads. They drove off empty handed thankfullyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh no! This lot have been responsible for so many dog thefts in the past-If anyone sees them please try and get number plate. They have already attempted to snatch from 2 rescues in the West Midlands today-update us with movements so we can warn everyone to take extra special care with their dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
