Ellie had been fending for herself. She still had her collar and tag on when found so that helped re-unite her with her owners quickly.

Yipee, so pleased Ellie has been found safe. Had a feeling she would have a little snug den somewhere. Hope she is ok at the vets tomorrow. Sending a gentle hug for this girl. Welcome home Ellie x

Great news. Had she been fending for herself, or had someone taken her in?
debdobbs

Oreo's mum - as I have posted on Lostdogs-Scotland after this information was given -
I, personally do not this this dog at the market was Ellie, as she is so nervous now that I do not see her going into a busy Sunday market situation with all the people milling around. She has been running from anyone else on a one to one situation so it is very doubtful it would have been her.

We have no confimation that the dog seen was Ellie. However, there should be another sighting before long and this will confirm it is not Ellie, and she is still out there. If someone has picked her up, I feel it would be unlikely they would be showing her off at a public market so soon - BUT - YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.Last edited: 2011-11-29 11:12:47 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

This is the latest FB update by another friend
ATTENTION REFERENCE MISSING DOG ELLIE. she was seen at the carboot bit at the market by a lot of people, , however even calling her wouldnt bring her over, so a woman was seen chasing her, she caught the black dog with a white flas, put the dog in her car and drove off, now, if anyone was there and saw this, would you know who this lady was, it might have been her dog, but one doesnt know, any imformation would be great as the owners are not desperate for her, pls pls pls

Is it possible to ask this person if she can maybe leave some smelly food and water out in her garden, not too much. Ellie may come and take it and if so keep putting a bit more out so possibly she will come back again, then she will be able to gain her trust, or once Ellie is in the garden close her gate to keep her in. Its worth a try x

A friend has just messaged me the following :
'Was at my friends in Haddington last sunday and a black cocker spaniel was hanging about her house, Gourly Bank. Did think it looked lost and tried to get it but ran away, seen it at lunch time and again about 6. Not sure this helps but my friend is going to keep an eye out and ask neighbours.'
This would have been Sunday 20th, have asked people to check their sheds etc.

If she is going in a line, try and walk that line back and forth carrying some really smelly food, sardines, cheesy or fishy treats. Keep checking any buildings used or unused on that route. Good luck, hope you see her and she is back home safe sonn xx

will put poster in Merryhatton today, pet shop in North Berwick and anywhere i can. Will have a drive and walk in areas she has been sighted. We all want her home and safe with her owners.
BBKM
You may already know this..a dog tends to form a triangle when lost. If you can start pin pointing on a map any sightings and the point she was lost from, see if a triangle starts to form. Make a note of the times she is sighted too. Get posters up where the sighting of this dog was. Ask the farmer to keep checking his outbuildings etc Ellie will cover a wide area and may be drawn towards places where she can smell food, pubs, B&B etc or hear other animals. Good luck, hope she is home soon x

Just had an email from a club member to say that a black dog was seen running past Prora farm (nr Drem)on Friday, heading towards Merryhatton so sounds like you are on the right track. Seems she covering a lot of ground in a short time so she could be anywhere. I've asked members in Dunbar, Gladsmuir & down as far as Houndwood to pass the word. Hope she's found safe soon.
louise83
will put posters in East Linton shops, library and post office, also will go over the fields between East Linton and Monksmuir/Markle. Will also look down Phantassie and Preston Mills. Hope Ellie is home soon, our little pup went missing 2 weeks ago and we got her back safe and sound, think positively xx
patm
Will take posters to the 2 nearest Post Offices- Gullane and Aberlady. tomorrow morning - I am sure they will display them. Good point tre checking farm buildings sheds, etc - plenty of them round here.
BBKM
Check all outbuildings, unused sheds, barns etc. She may have made a safe den in one. Posters are vital to let people know she is a missing/lost dog. Good luck. Hope Ellie is back home soon xx
debdobbs
will get some posters printed off asap and start putting them in area...might be worth checking farmland around that area.
