Maggie
That's made my day.
I'll not tell my other half that she had already been found by the time we were driving back over Dumbleton common & I insisted we drove round looking again!
So happy for everyone involved, but particularly Aria.
Would love to see a re-united photo.
CarolineMurphy
Facebook now closed but left up to alert people in the group that she has been found, thanks to all members of that too, despite the minority who've done nothing but criticise everyone!! But then you can expect that from a load of women and dogs to find! hehe xxx
B30
Everyone's efforts to find Aria has been amazing.

Thanks to the great Dog Lost Helpers, the police, the lorry driver and of course our wonderful Mollychops!!Last edited: 2011-05-23 21:01:16 by B30

Aria has been sighted on the south side of the Strensham services please can someone get there asap to identify her xx
CarolineMurphy
Thanks Jayne, will add to the facebook for people not on here to read xxx
smurffski
Hi Just let us know where you want us to search.
Beaglemum
I have been to our homeopathic vet's today who lives on Kempsey Common and right alongside the M5, not too far away from Strensham. She has friends that live at Dunstall Farm on Dunstall Common so if they are not yet aware they soon will be! Have also left a poster with her. On the way home left a poster with Three Counties Equine vets'(again) who cover most of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Glos and beyond.
They will be very helpful as they were quite concerned when I left a poster re Spencer the Sheltie who only a couple of weeks ago went missing from the very same services area.
Air Ambulance Base is also right next to Strensham Services so if there is a way to let them know that would be a good idea.
I will be going across the Strensham area on Thursday along the back roads and lanes so will scout around. I will be travelling M5 North on Friday too so will keep a look out. Keep safe little girl.X.
Spindle
Please tread softly with this little girl. Lots of people, unfamiliar dogs, or toys will push her further away. Quietly spread out and watching from a distance best idea, if seen please follow what Jayne has put on here.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Have spoken to the breeder who is going down with some friends tonight to search and also taking Arias mother. have explained the importance of scenting as this will be the way to coax her in....If there are any sightings its essential to scent...so if anyone does sight her please call HQ so we can get the scent down and keep her in the area. call me on 0844 800 3220 or 07734 759154 and i can contact her. Thanks everyone for helping here...I am sure if we all work together we will get a result.
CarolineMurphy
She is very food orientated so volunteers take food, although imagine you already are doing xxx
CarolineMurphy
I would say the person that Aria is most likely to come to is Sue after being with her for four years, so hopefully people can patrol and we can contact Sue to come out. If this isn't possible then we need to organise another way of luring her in, whether this be with food or toys. Will contact Sue to see how she is orientated

I think the best plan really would be for people to patrol the area and not try to attempt to catch her but stay within a safe distance of her and contact Sue as I would say she has the best chance of getting Aria to come to her. xxxLast edited: 2011-05-23 16:14:45 by CarolineMurphy
CarolineMurphy
We need to sort out the volunteers tonight and a plan of attack for if there is a sighting, if volunteers could leave a way of contacting for tonight. I'm not able to be there due to lack of transport but we need to get a bit of organisation somehow for co-ordinating people together tonight xxx
jessthecat
Easily confused Caroline when you said about the noise of the wind and traffic just reminded me of a motorway, but still it is a valid point if people do use them don't use them near a motorway or in areas with high volumes of traffic... Anyway wouldn't you get more success with a timid dog by throwing/ dropping something near her and then walking away? Like using some chicken as it is tasty and would invoke curiosity...? My dog doesn't always come when you call his name but walk away and he is by your side.Last edited: 2011-05-23 16:07:05 by jessthecat
CarolineMurphy
I was meaning if there was another siting at the lady's house she had previously been at Jessthecat, obviously not on the motorway! xxx
jessthecat
I suggest we refrain from using megaphones near the motorway. After all the last thing we want is for Aria is to get run over when she responds to a familiar voice calling for her. However I do hope she is found swiftly and promptly x
ibisco
Request from those currently searching:
theyn think Aria is right on the border so instead of being hereford and worcestern and west mercia police she is neary gloucestershire so a new set of authorities???? the searchers want to know if those new authorities have been contacted. Someone is going to the Bedon area at half siz toight and others are looking later tonight.
CarolineMurphy
I have just had a thought, does anyone locally own a megaphone? A little intrusive perhaps but people are talking about recordings of Sue calling Aria and we need something to overcome the noise of wind and traffic, perhaps it would help her come to a voice she recognises? xxx
CarolineMurphy
From the facebook (NUMBER FOR SUE IS THE SECOND ONE ON POSTER) Georgina Kathleen French:
If anyone who knows Sue then please if you are going to help-- go to Sue,s house and collect Arias crate ,blankets etc and a blanket off Sue,s bed plus Aias usual food and water bowls.Sue, Viv and the kids need to record a tape of them calling her individually and together plus any other sounds she would recognise like your dogs barking.Take all these up to a safe place near where she escaped at the services as she seems to be returning there by instinct. If you ask the services they may put the tape over the loud speaker and play it regularly, she naturally has acute sensory instinct so use it to bring her home!!!!!!!!!!
Mollychops
I read it to be that Maggie, but i think it means south towards the services, not below them. If she does come into Glos, everyone has been alerted there too! Thanks Smurfski and lola for the offer, Anyone willing to go search would be more than welcome !Thanks again Caroline for your help postering XLast edited: 2011-05-23 14:34:37 by Mollychops
Maggie
Have I understood the comments correctly, was the last sighting 2 miles SOUTH of services? If so she could be heading towards Bredon, Northway or Tewkesbury area (Bredon & Northway are just off south bound side of motorway, Tewkesbury is other side of motorway. These are all GL postcodes, do helpers in this area need to be made aware?
Poor Aria, I do hope she goes to someone soon.
lola
just a suggestion, i was thinking of travelling up for about 10pm tonight and looking through the night, im thinking maybe she may come out under the cover of darkenss ???
smurffski
Hi I live in Cheltenham if you need helpers for a search this evening let me know my daughter in law and I are available.
CarolineMurphy
No posters up in Northbound services apparently but boyfriend is going to grab some paper from the shop and handmake and make sure the people there are aware of it too just in case, I'm sure they are xxx

Edit: Sam has just spoken to the RAC at the services and they are now aware tooLast edited: 2011-05-23 11:53:47 by CarolineMurphy

I have spoken to police, reports were she was spotted heading southbound at 7.30pm about 2 miles from services. I am at services now, no sign but as mentioned the lady who spotted her this morning on the camera is working tonight, so will let me know if she is spotted tonight. I have asked coach and hgv drivers but they haven't seen anything.
Mollychops
Jenners has just rung me to say she was at the Southbound services and she got chatting to the breakdown recovery guys who have an office and videos of the motorway 24/7 She went in and the lady who manned the monitors said a camera went off at 4am today, looking dirctly at the shed where the guys wait for breakdowns She thought it was a fox. She is now convinced it was Aria. Jenney is laying some food down and see what happensLast edited: 2011-05-22 22:30:20 by Mollychops

I am the person who saw Aria first thing this morning outside my house on Dunstall Common. I called her gently and she stopped and turned to look at me before hurtling off up the road. I immediately phoned my Mum, who is president of the I.G. Club UK, and she came down to help me look for her. We have spent all day looking but have not had any sitings since 10.15am, when Mum and I were within 30 yards or so of her sitting on the floor with food in our hands and coaxing her gently. She is extremely timid (abnormally so in my 35 years experience of IGs). Mum will be back first thing tomorrow, but unfortunately I have to be at work for 8am.
Lots of people on the common have helped today and will continue to look for her which is brilliant. Her exowners have also been out with us.
I have put food out in a dog crate and the house where we believe she ate cat food have put more out for her tonight.
I have tried to download a poster to put some around this area but I can't seem to access it. If anyone is coming to search here tomorrow can they bring some posters?
Mollychops
Thanks for putting this on Caroline Murphy.

Can we have the address of this sighting as my friends are out searching, I can give them this information and they can move to this area
Mollychops
There has been a breakthrough. A lady who lives in Dunstall common had a positive sighting of Aria earlier today outside her house, She had been eating the cats food too as well it would seem. Her mother breeds Italian Greyhounds and she came over with a couple of other dogs, to helpwith the search, and maybe try and coax Aria out with others of her breed. Aria was called, but whilst turning around, carried on walking off. They did try to a pincer movement to try and contain her into an area, but Aria, although this wasnt done in any way to scare her, disapeared into a hedge. The last sighting was 10.15 This ladies daughter, is going to leave feed out for Aria, and hope that she will come back for some more, when she is hungry, and will contact me if any more sightings.
CarolineMurphy

There is also Red deer farm which sells herbs, who im trying to get hold . Neareby is a boarding kennels too which I will contact. Will check out Croome park too

Oh dear, she's moved quite a way. She's still in a very rural area and nearly on to Croome Park. I'm still new to this, will she go back to where she was first lost the same as Spencer?
I'll try and get someone to take me out postering, still not mobile myself so very restricted. I know someone who lives on Dunstall Common & will let her know.
