So sorry to hear that Pepper is still missing :( Hope the new possible area reveals her. x
hkenyon
Despite the brilliant efforts of the tracking lady and Wispa the dog, we did not find Pepper yesterday. However we covered new ground which was very worth doing and has given us a possible area where she might be. Everyone is really grateful for her visit.

Other than the above there has been no sightings or anything of Pepper.
hkenyon
Thank you Angie and Janiejewel. The terrier man came yesterday and despite his good efforts could not locate her. Everyone was very grateful for his visit though. Staying over tonight is a lovely lady who has come 200 miles away with her tracking dog , bless her, to track Pepper. We are out in the morning and keeping everything crossed.
angi
hoping the terrier man can locate Pepper x

Just wanted to point out that the farmland she is lost on abutts her house. She would not be more than 400m away from her home when she disappeared. It is land she has walked on for all of her life.
hkenyon
twoDs thank you for cross posting.

Well we have all been out all day until dark and nothing. Widened the search area. Had loads of dogs. Checked all holes we came across. Tried the piping for noise. No sight or sound of her :-(

There are so many posters up now and everyone locally seems to know already.

I hope you're right Spindle, in that she has gone to ground and will reappear soon. She is a thin little dog as it is. Hard to imagine her getting stuck.

Anything else we can do/try?
twoDs
Have posted her on BT World and on my FaceBook as well,do hope she's home soon
Spindle
If she has gone to ground chances are in few days she will drop weight and get out. Difficult to pinpoint exact area if you dont know where she disappeared from sight.
hkenyon
Spindle she was spotted running off at speed to one of the may woods on the farm. Have had the dogs out yesterday and all this morning. A group of us were out all morning today. We checked all the badger holes with the dogs etc that we could find. Nothing :-( Posters are currently being put up everywhere now. Everyone contacted that we can think of including local radio.

Good Luck.x

Was Pepper actually seen running off to an area? Other dog on lead could possibly find her if she has gone to ground.
hkenyon
Still MISSING.
Thanks Shereen we checked all the holes we could yesterday but with our own ears and our dogs. Will try your pipe idea this morning. A group of us are meeting up in 30mins time. Fingers crossed.
Shereen
hkenyon....just a thought...do you think she could of gone to ground(Down a hole)it may be worth it if you have a rough idea of searching any holes by sticking a long tube/pipe (bit like a plumbers pipe) down any holes and put your ear to the end and listen out for any noises.
hkenyon
Thank you Karen :-) and thank you Shereen for sending out the alerts.

We have all been out with friends, the farmer etc until it got dark. Due to losing two border terriers 12 yrs ago (ran off after deer on a walk) and not ever finding them after a long campaign, Pepper and her border terrier housemate Fudge were never let off the lead, that was until very recently and this was only the third time offlead.

Owner (my dear friend) is calling vets, dog warden etc first thing tomorrow morning.Last edited: 2011-04-04 21:52:32 by hkenyon

Sorry to see that PEPPER is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28983)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
