- Thank you. I have given very similar advice and have checked with beddlington terrier rescue to ensure we are doing the right things. Rocky is clearly very scared and, hopefully, the techniques described will help reunite hm.

- An additional telephone number added to Rocky's page . There have been numerous sightings today in and around Berry Lane, the riverside and sheep field and Waterworks in Throop. He was last seen at sound 5.30 this evening in the sheep field but as yet has not been caught. He is running when being tempted with treats often towards the wooded area nearby.
Owners have laid a scent trail home which is about 1 mile away but would entail him crossing busy roads. They are aware to give Rocky time to assess the situation and take things slowly to regain his trust and are doing thisLast edited: 2016-04-15 20:15:40 by Gnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset - 2016-04-15 18:20 Gnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset
- When Rocky is seen please as Jenny says don't give chase as this will frighten him further. The way forward is to try and keep him in a safe area and gain his trust.
When in sight avoid direct eye contact and drop low to the ground turning slightly away from him. From what I've read here he is in flight mode and needs time to assess the situation so mustn't be rushed. He is unlikely to approach his owner or anyone else when called and calling his name will not help.
If close enough to gain his interest try tasty treats , tossing them in his direction to slowly encourage him near. If he shows interest but is hesitant slowly walk away casually and accidentally drop a few treats. This will help reinforce in his mind that he is not being chased. If he responds positively slowly crouch down and try again. Only when he is close enough to take treats from you should you calmly attempt to catch him.
A big thank you to everyone that have been able to help today xx - 2016-04-15 17:48 labradorloopy

- He has been spotted several times this morning including Redhill drive and Castle Lane. He is running scared and won't go to anyone not even his owner. I have suggested they start plotting sightings on a map and poster like mad in the triangle itcreates. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
