Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
I may be grounded with a hand/arm in plaster but when a beagle has to be found - I couldn't resist. Tiga found Bella lying in a wooded area in the bluebells. I am sure she will soon be back fighting fit after a good rest with her injured leg, I guess from when she fell/jumped out of the moving horsebox. Stay safe now Bella - I am also off to rest my hand. Tiga is proud of his toy.
As always the local team are fab! Last edited: 2016-04-18 15:53:35 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

Saw the poster on Woodland Way Gina and kept a look out on our walk this afternoon. Have shared with friends in Rushlake Green area. If little Jimmy is anything to go by dogs are very clever when it comes to their own survival. I hope you have Bella home soon x
Gina and Timi
Rose if you need me my mob number is 07482373727 just call me i am fairly free all of next week
Gina and Timi
She is out there somewhere little Jimmy the yorkshire terrier was out the most awfully cold conditions and rain he turned up 10 days later bless him so dogs are very resourceful and they revert to their instincts she will be holding up somewhere dry and warm and now we are getting the word out someone will see her xx
Rose
Gina thats brilliant. We are just about to go down through Dallington forest to Glaziers forge where I rode this morning to put up posters.
Rosemary
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
That's brilliant Gina and Timi!
Rose said to me that she and her friends were going to ride through the area today (from different sides) in the hope of spotting Bella.
Where Rose rides may also leave a scent trail that Bella's Beagle nose could pick up on and guide her back to her home. Let's hope so.
Thanks again Gina and Timi .. great job done :)
Gina and Timi
Been out and postered in following area Street End/Swife Lane, Broad oak. I saw a couple of posters had already been put up. Then crossed over to `Punnetts Town In and out of back streets round Three Cups Corner, the lovely owner of the Dallington PO took a leaflet to put up in his Post Office. I then turned Left onto Brightling Road .. stopped walked in a forest on that road left a poster, then carried onto cross roads and turned Left onto Willingford Lane postered the lane up to Thw Wheel at Burwash Weald. So have covered a massive circle round the area Bella was sighted and Dallington Forest. I came across to sets of horse riders both knew about Bella and were looking for her.. also a couple of people i met already knew about her so she has lots of people looking out for her, lets hope she gets sighted soon fingers crossed xx
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Well done team Bella!
Rose
From Punetts Town she could get imto dallington forest, our house backs onto the forest so she could get into familiar territory of she moves towards Brightling so I think that may be far enough over. I will ride the forest this morning from Dallington and a friend is riding from 3 cups end.
She may be the dog seen in Brad oak as that sighting is earlier than Holbans.

Well done Rose, Zoe and Caro DP. A really good days work. Glad you got further info re the sighting Holbans Lane as it sounded very positive.
I agree that the dog found at Waitrose is more likely to be the one seen in Broad Oak and Heathfield.
The behaviour of the dog seen in Holbans Lane is definitely how I would have expected Bella to behave when first lost. Hopefully she is in the woods staying out of sight and that is why no other recent sightings.
Great to have posters up around the area where Bella is thought to be. Local farms are also aware. Hope your Greyhound and you recover form all the mud you were walking in today Rose!
Best of luck with the search tomorrow.
Gina and Timi
I will walk that area tomorrow morning and poster a little further afield, should i poster as far out as Roberstbridge/Brightling or go more towards Broad Oak?
Caro DP
Just finished Mill Lane/Blackwater/forest Lane at the back of Punnetts town. Spoke to a few people, they had seen the posters. Sadly, nothing...yet! We can come out tomorrow late afternoon/evening. Keep me posted. Doing a great job Rosemary, we'll help any way we can x
Rose
re Longview Heathfield sighting 2 people have now said a stray yellow lab. was found by Waitrose very near the sighting.
Rosemary
Rose
We have also just returned we may have been on different paths we went right down to the farmhouse at the end of upper greenwood and the path beside their house VERY slippery I got almost to the stream but the greyhound couldnt get over the last stile but at least she could pick up our scent. The woman at the farm phoned several locals noone had seen her but they all walk there daily so well worth going and I met some dog walkers.
Thank you for braving the mud!
Rosemary

Just got back....no sign I'm afraid and again, saw no one to mention Bella to:-( I parked in upper greenwood lane and walked the byway between there and Broad Oak. Unfortunately, we're going out tonight so was a bit pushed for time so didn't go as far as I wanted. Walked as far as the footbridge over the river at the bottom then retraced my steps. I quickly realised that I should have worn wellies rather than walking boots!! There were a couple of outbuildings which would have been ideal shelter for Bella....I did peer over the fence and called quietly but no sign. Couldn't directly access them. I am sure she's probably found some shelter somewhere. Hopefully there will be a sighting tonight or tomorrow to give us a more accurate area to focus on. Well done Rose , you're doing a great job, and as always the Heathfield team are pulling together too. X
Caro DP
We can head up there too from 6.30pm Rose if you can get the Greyhound up, we'll see you there! We'll come in from the bottom of Hugletts lane area, or shout for Greenwoods lane x
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Just looked at map. I'm going to head out for a walk through footpaths between Broad Oak & Punnets Town then.
Rose
I have just spoken to Sarah who reported the sighting at Graffiti at 12.50 Thursday. The next sighting 1pm Old Holbans Burwash coomon, heading for Punnetts town. Sarah walked her dog yesterday in that area and unusually it disappeared and was gone a while, she thought it had found another dog but was puzzled that no dog came back with it, Bella would keep well away from people so that could make sense. sarah and I feel she may have made her way down the footpath that comes out near Punnets town school and leads up to Holbans Lane. That area seems well worth targeting I hope to get up there with the (very tired) greyhound if I can get him off the settee! I hope we are right but it seems to make senseand that she would be hiding in the wood. Many thanks Rosemary
Caro DP
Rose- where would you like us to search this evening from 6.30pm...Thanks Caro & Inca
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Thanks for the update Rose. Do you think the Longview sighting is a bit of a red herring? I guess it's always possible that she crossed the Punnets Town road and went Cade Street then went right towards Sandy Cross which would have brought her out at Longview eventually though? So hard without a more current sighting. If she'd made her way onto the turf fields then she could make her way over to Vines Cross.....Ill go out with Roxie again shortly and perhaps focus on the turf fields/Sapperton Woods although you'd like to think that she may have found shelter somewhere ( which doesn't help the people searching of course!).
Rose
Saturday update. I have spoken to the woman who saw Bella in Burwash Common. It was at 1pm Thursday and she was running scared off the main road (by Pevensey plant nursery. She ran up Holbans Lane past her at high speed, she is 99% sure it was her having later seen the poster. She ran right which had she carried on would bring her out near Punnets town and near home. . I have walked the woods behind Graffiti with my greyhound and talked to dog walkers, postman and postered. I also did some posters and more dog walkers in Old Heathfield and around Hailsham rd.
A friend has put posters up in the Horam area. I pkan to poster Dallington forest later today.
Again many thanks for so much help and suport.
Rosemary

Caro DP The sighting was of Bella when she first was lost on Thurs (prob just after she escaped horse box) not recent. So please just carry on doing what youhave been! You have been a great help searching area around your home. I'm hoping Bella is in that area rather than back in Heathfield but so hard to tell without a new sighting.
Caro DP
Any more information would be great, (which direction along Burwash road) we'll head out again this eve after work. Should be a 4 of us or so in the Old Heathfield area..or elsewhere if we have a new recent sighting.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Another sighting reported to Rose of Bella running scared on the Burwash Rd (on Thurs) Sounds like it was when she first escaped the horse box. So that confirms that the dog who had been seen twice later that day is definitely Bella. Rose has asked caller to ring back so that we can find out approx what time of day that was. I'm sure Rose will update us with details later.

Have suggested Rose extends the postering when Heathfield area has them. Perhaps towards Horam, Vines Cross etc as I was thinking the same as Gina and Timi. If anyone is able to help poster these areas or anywhere imbetween it would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your continuing support. Hopefully now that it is drier Bella will be seen out and about somewhere.
Just need to have a recent sighting so we know where she has moved to.

PS Also sent some Tweets out today. If you use Twitter pls retweet them. I'm
clarkey @mivvidog on there. Last edited: 2016-04-16 13:37:48 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Thanks for the update Rose. You are doing everything right and have done a great job today.
Thanks Laura. Any posters you wld be able to put up in the area would be great and passing the word to anyone and everyone too!

The more posters we have the better so that there's more chance of getting sightings of Bella. If everyone would put one in their car window that wld be really helpful.
Best places to poster are where lots of people will see them .. shops, bus stops, post office, entrances to footpaths at woods and in their car parks, outside schools, farm shops, pet shops etc. Also good to give posters to people who deliver and drive around area locally like postmen, taxi drivers.
Great to see all the support being given to Rose .. it makes all the difference when you are looking for your dog.
Will be keeping everything crossed that another sighting or 2 come in very soon. Last edited: 2016-04-15 22:49:09 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

PS so glad we have the old site back ;)
Gina and Timi
I am just behind Churchill Road i have posted on Green Lanes estate community page and been keeping an eye out while driving locally wondering if Bella may travel on down to Horam :( or out to Vines Cross!
Rose
Thank you Laura. Posters on the main road from Dallington towards 3 cups would be great I have been concentrating more on the Heathfield/ Broad oak end, its a big area to cover. Many thanks
Rosemary
Laura
Hello, I'm really sorry to hear that your dog has gone missing... I live in Dallington and would be more than happy to put posters up and ask other people in the village to keep a look out... lots of us own dogs and walk through the woods and fields frequently everyday. If there is anything else that I can do, please let me know. I really hope that you find her. Best wishes, Laura.
Rose
Thank you to everyone for their help and support in searching for my beagle. So far we are working on the sitings in Broad oak and on the Hailsham road in Heathfield. Tomorrow morning I will walk the Broad oak woods and the put up some more posters.

Many thanks Zoe and Caro DP. Not nice weather to go searching and probably means Bella will be hiding up somewhere. Well done!
Owners say they have been searching and postering today and putting posters up.
I can't stress how important it is to get as many posters up as possible.
This is the way to get sightings of Bella so we know where she is going to/from. We know that posters work and that there can never be enough of them.
If anyone in the area is able to print some and put them up to help Rosemary it would really be appreciated.
Come on Bella .. we need to know where you are now.

Caro DP
Sadly nothing round Old Heathfield area currently, been round the woods, through the barns with Inca & Molly. It's a waiting game for a new/next sighting. Come on Bella, pop up soon!
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Well done everyone....hopefully there will be a sighting soon. Roxie and I have just walked the Longview area. We've walked from the High Street, down the Cukoo Trail, along Sandy Cross Lane and took the footpath that cuts up pretty much behind Longview. It takes you onto Green Lane Estate and I walked back through Longview. There are a few garages she could shelter in. I actually didn't realise how many houses there are in that little area....I've run through it so many times but must have had my head down!! Sadly, there was no sighting, although the weather is pretty grim so don't think anyone is really venturing out, so didn't even see anyone to speak to about Bella! The sighting in Broad Oak would have made more sense, but I think the lady who saw the dog in Longview was pretty sure it was her too so I guess, unless we get another confirmed sighting it's worth focus ing in these two areas.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Wow the shares and page views are going bolistic...everyone routing for Bella! tx everyone....with out the shares we would not have these possible sightings.
Owner does say she is having trouble registering but as Clarkey is in contact we will have regular updates..tx Clarkey.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for the updates/comments everyone. That's brilliant!
So latest sighting was in Longview, Churchill Road, Heathfield. Hopefully that means she did not injure herself when leaping out of the horse box.
Update from owner:
"I have been to the old garden Centre, now offices so no food around. I spoke to Sarah Hater. She confirmed a dog was seen running from the main road into the entrance of the cemtre.Staff there saw a dog running round the car park for a while in the afternoon but thought it belonged to workmen.

I leafleted them and a workman who hadn't seen the dog. Behind the place is a vast area of very rough woodland and lots of rabbits running around so maybe she is hiding up there I couldn't get access to this but will look on a map. I leafleted the surrounding houses and spoke to a man who walks his dog . I left a sock and will go up later with the greyhound and walk around. Rosemary"
Other info is that Bella is lighteer than she seems in the photo and as quite a large & stocky Beagle it does sound like the dog seen may be her.
Best of luck and let's hope more sightings come in that R can follow up. Last edited: 2016-04-15 13:22:20 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

update from owner...Latest sighting. Graffitti, the old garden centre, broadoak, Heathfield. Big woods behind need searching..tx everyone.
Caro DP
Any update on Bella? I can head out this evening with my Beag to look, just tell me where you'd like me to start, as I am based in Old Heathfield, so very near.
Gina and Timi
Just seen a message someone left on Heathfield Lost and Found .. Sarah Clare Saw Bella near Longview:Churchill Rd Thursday can't remember what time probably about 1.30! on yr post Clarkey
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I drove through Broad Oak/Burwash Common this morning to get to work....no sign and was looking out. Could Bella be making her way back home maybe? Although the graffiti place would be heading the wrong side of the road:-( I picked up a lab a few years ago on that main road which lived next to the graffiti place so dog could have been that one, but definitely worth following up the sighting. I'm trying to establish whether that dog still strays onto the road, would be good to eliminate it if possible. The direction that the sighted dog headed, would take it into the woods behind broad Oak and over to Mayfield or Witherenden way as I walked this a lot when we were searching for the dog that went missing in Broad Oak last year.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Just to confirm route: Left Dallington on A2096 to Heathfield and on A265 to Burwash. Continued to A21 up to Risebridge, Goudhurst.

There has been a comment on my post on Fbk saying that a labrador type dog was seen yesterday at about 12.50pm between Priory nursing home and running towards Heathfield - it went down to the graffiti sign place (was Broad oak garden centre)
This may or may not be Bella but definitely worth checking out as the time would fit and Bella is described as a big Beagle and stocky.
Fingers crossed we get some more information about this today.
Owner has been out early this morning searching along the route taken and has postered too. She will go to Broad Oak/Heathfield to poster.
Come on Bella .. show us where you are!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I have spoken to Bella's owner and have advised to go out and drive the route again at first light. It's possible that she may be wandering around then.
Also said to get as many posters out on route as well so people are aware that Bella is missing.

Owner has already let Dog Wardens know and I have sent out our Doglost email advice so hopefully local vets will be alerted as well.
Bella is very nervous of people so may not come to anyone who sees her. She managed to get the jockey door on the horsebox open at some time during a journey from Dallington to Risebridge, Goudhurst between 12 - 1pm Thursday. There was another dog with her but only Bella got out. The route taken was fm Dallington (stopping for train at Etchingham) on to Burwash Road (A265) to Hurst Green & on A21 to Risebridge, Goudhurst.
Let's hope Bella has not been hurt when she got out of the horsebox and that she will show herself very soon. Last edited: 2016-04-15 00:48:50 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
