If this is a new home for him it would be safer to keep him in for a couple of weeks, so he gets used to it, sounds as though he is running scared

From owner: Ice the Tibetan mastiff found this morning in a front garden two miles away. He was identified by his collar tag, has been checked by his new vet and is now on his way back home with us - so search over. Many thanks for all your help.
