I too was looking and in Medway News, but nothing so far. Posters seem to be holding up okay at Capstone, Motney deep past Sharp's Green, Riverside and people are looking at them. It's just that one phone call and everything's crossed for another sighting. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well at least they cant take the one down in my shop window haha! also the trick of taking the others down and putting bullet in the middle of window seems to be working lots of people coming over to window to read it TraceyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The effort the owner is putting in there's a really good chance Bullet will surface with that one phone call. I've postered more deep into Sharp's Green today and at Capstone at the weekend stating recently sighted on the poster. That will make people look twice. Come on Bullet I want that hug although the owner says he never stays still long enough. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Didnt we have this happen in this area before, our posters being torn down and replaced by others. If this is the case........SHAME ON THAT PERSON OR PERSONS! That sort of idiotic and childish behaviour does nothing to get dogs back home. Oh I almost forgot, some are only in it for the glory and dont give a damn about the dogs that are missing. Sorry for sidetracking Bullets page, but some things have to be said. Heres hoping to some positive news on Bullet soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes I'm sure I saw the boy being walked a few weeks back at a spot I couldn't stop as I was in crazy fast traffic, but it's all tying in. Bullet's mum and I have kept postering at Riverside, Motney, all around Cuxton and Capstone. It's those single telephone calls that count. Am renewing posters at Motney this weekend and going deeper into Sharp's Green towards the Strand. love Sylv Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just had a call to say that another Lady has sighted who she believes is Bullet being walked with a man near the Gas works, near the Strand. This ties in with the previous sightings as Sharps Green is just down the road. Sylv also thinks she may have seen him a few weeks back near the cross road just a little further down. Please please let this be our boy and please please keep showing yourself Bullet, we will find you. The area is postered. Please can anyone that knows anyone down there help me xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I work in a large office about 10 minutes drive from Sharps Green so fortunately their are people in my office that are local to that area. Today I have heard that someone else has seen this dog in the Sharps Green area a few weeks back and they are sure it is Bullet. They are of course hoping to see him again and are helping to spread the word. I am going there almost daily but clearly at the wrong time! Please if anyone knows anyone that walks in this area I need their help. The area is well postered and I intend to hand out flyer's to people tomorrow on my way home from work. I need to find this dog and confirm either way whether he is our boy. Please Bullet show yourself again, we need you home xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No I haven't seen her either or her doggie friend, but maybe she's on holiday. You tend to find those who walk via Sharp's Green are predictable with their times, so if the lady with the new dog was seen at 3pm it's likely she'll appear again around that time. Hi Bullet's dad Cracker is a lady who walks her dog each day at the Sharp's Green end at the meadow along with another lady, usually 4pm ish. The dogs are a spaniel and collie with stand up ears. If you go on to Misty's message board in the reunited section you will see Cracker's messages as she postered Sharp's Green and you could PM her through that. I noticed Bullet's poster's telephone number in red ink had run with the rain at Motney car park so will renew. The one at the Diggerland entrance had gone last night when I passed by. Fingers crossed for a happy ending for Bullet and his family very soon. One of my Dobies loves to chase squirrels too, so I purchased her a interactive squirrel toy recently. It's a tree log with three cute squirrels inside for the dogs to pull out and play with. Not sure it will stop her chasing the little furries though.... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Chris phoned John with the details. Thank you Chris and Horsemart. I have just phoned the lady (Wendy) that contacted you. The dog she saw was being walked on Monday at 3pm @ Sharps Green off the Lower Road, Rainham. Wendy thinks the lady must be local as she said it would be an unusual place to have been walking. She spoke to the lady and the lady said she had just picked the dog up from a Rescue centre that morning. Wendy was out riding and she didn't read the article in Horsemart until after seeing this lady. Wendy has Merle Border Collies herself so she knows the breed and knew that this dog was not a pure collie, she said it looked young and was nervous of the traffic. One thing she didn't notice was whether the dog was a dog or a bitch. John is going to go that way home from work tonight to have a look & poster. Please let this be our boy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unless he followed something down its hole. got stuck then freed himself and has perhaps been taken in by someone as a stray near the woods. A friendly dog is always attractive, but then you have postered very well. They are still up and about. In Capstone there was a bloke living in the woods, but with your searches I would imagine you'd have found a tent by now. It's amazing how many dogs on this site turn up after a very long time and my eyes are still very open for him and I'm through that area a lot. Sylv xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We can only assume Bullet chased a squirrel as that is what he had been doing. I wasn't with him, John didn't actually see what he chased. I walked him everyday and he never chased a rabbit or a fox that I know of just squirrels. And yes as you say squirrels go up the trees, Bullet would then bark from the bottom and then come when called. It is so strange but we have covered all that area again and again and nothing. For someone to have been walking up there at that precise time and caught him would also be strange as Bullets natural walking pace is so quick that if someone caught him then they would have had to have had a lead on them and surely a doggie person wouldn't be putting us through this? Bullet is a baby but I think he has a good recall and I don't think he would have just followed someone.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What puzzles me in the first instance is squirrels usually go up the nearest tree and don't run for miles, yet Bulet vanished. Is there no way he could be trapped by falling down some hole? I know you're combing the area with a fine comb. Have you scented as well? Shelock is an expert on advising on these matters. Everything is crossed for his return. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

They have been quite helpful but have made it quite clear that we lost Bullet and it is our responsibility to contact them. I have given a poster to the kennels at Cuxton and we have postered outside as well!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

have given the poster to my kennel/grooming lady at Burnt House Farm, Hoo and it's up on the noticeboard . She says there are kennels in Cuxton. Have you tried there as well? Sylv xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm in and through Cuxton tonight and tomorrow and will keep searching for Bullet. I never give up. Jasper, Buster, Tigger, Bullet I'm always on the lookout for them. After the problems/confusion with finding Misty I take it you're contacting Viking Oak kennels regularly. It's good to make actual visits in case they're there. Sylv xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I finally plucked up the courage to ring network rail yesterday - Nothing thank god. I couldn't help but notice the tremendous support given in the search for Misty, and wanted to say thank you to Chris for reminding others of our baby boy. Its such a shame that their aren't as many helpers in this area, I have done my best in promoting what a wonderful job this sight does locally so maybe more will come forward. Shelties Mum thanks for your support I know you are thinking of us.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There are a lot of posters still around but I found that Blues posters were taken down around that area . just replace and if you want some laminated ones let me know and I can do some for you , Still looking but do remember to call Viking Oak at least every other day, we visit every wednesday Jasmil and viking Oak, anything that happens eg sightings, or information let me know so we can move Bullet back to front page, its early days yet and he is so unusual that he will get spotted if someone has decided to keep him for themselves. He has to be somewhere around there I suggest. Have you looked at the railway line where there's rabbits etc. Someitimes posters are taken down by people holding a dog or maybe in this case it's just badness. I am still actively looking. any help let me know Sylv Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, nothing really to say. I am feeling very disheartened. Spent today replacing posters people have taken down. Why do they do this? Km followed through their promise to include a follow up article for us, but nothing has come of it. How can someone so precious just disappear without a trace?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

From the car it honestly looked like a big golden dog. I wouldn't worry about the number of posters. Blitzing there is a great idea. There were dog walkers passing them and that's got to be good.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so sorry! Just driven down to look at these posters and they are all Bullet. Looks like one of our friends has gone a bit to far for my liking. I suppose at least they catch your eye. We decided to try using a different picture (same wording) as this one shows his colouring a little better. Both pictures we have are old and as I've said before to us he's more collie looking now. We never meant to confuse, we only hoped it would help bring our boy back. Also just to update you, we have already postered the areas suggested by Chris. Thanks though for everything everyone is doing. Bullet was in Friday's KM, I phoned them today to see if they would follow it up this week to include a thank you for those that are looking and to highlight the fact that he is still missing and that we haven't had one confirmed sighting yet. They have kindly agreed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Driving through Cuxton today I noticed wall to wall posters on the main road for another missing dog. Looked like a Retriever from my car. Maybe it would be an idea to put Bullet's poster alongside and link up with that owner? regards Sylv xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lets hope that it may be Bullet and good news soon. ChrisxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We didn't make the rspca at leybourne today but it was well postered. We will be at the boot fair tomorrow. Its the north downs run tomorrow so there will be alot of people about, we have postered a fair amount of the route. We have been up to Battersea today - nothing. We had a message when we got back that a collie had been sighted opposite the village hall at meopham at about 10am.Unfortunately the man didn't try the mobile. We've been over there this afternoon and spoken to the man that rang. He thinks it was a possible. Spoke to a few people including a few that were about to go off shooting. The area is well postered.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Opposite the tip is the nature reserve , they will let you put one there for a while , lots of dog walkers. come on Bullet , time to come home. ChrisxlLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

they are not very helpful at the lakes and take posters down, you may find that it would be better to hand out flyers to walkers there instead, please make sure you keep checking in with Viking oak and battersea, any sightings do let me know as can be there within minutes, Chris x you should have my number .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I took a poster down to the lakes last Friday, the park ranger said they would put it up for a week. I went down there on Wednesday and nothing! I walked the lake and postered where I could. Bullet hates the car and will try everything not to go in it, it makes him feel sick. Someone would have had to catch him and pick him up if a car is involved. There are 2 lots of horsey fields the ones you mention and the ones that back onto bush road. I have spoken to 2 ladies (1 from each) and have postered there too. Bullets walk took us past these fields daily. Johns sister emailed us 2 photos of bullet yesterday that she took on her mobile phone, unfortunately they are not good enough to print but are far more up to date than the ones we have, in our mind he is more collie looking. Also need to mention he is 4 colours not 3 (black/grey/ white and a little bit of tan) Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I met someone tonight who is friendly with a woman who owns a field with horses near the Cuxton church and she's going to phone her about Bullet. This field owner also has a collie. Might be an idea to meet up with her being so close to the spot as she's mad about dogs etc Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm wondering then if he's found a temporary home somewhere being so friendly. I picked up a collie on the road near Canterbury today who was fortunately tagged and nearly knocked down by idiots and she let me put her in the car no problem to take her home. Sat like a lady on the front seat. I'll try and get down this weekend for a dog walk your way. Have you postede the leybourne park with the lake? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks to everyone for what they are doing. Ranscombe farm has already been postered. I have spoken to a lot of people over the last week so Bullet is well known around this area. Anyone that can walk the woods behind the church at Cuxton may have the best chance of helping us.I really cant believe that he could still be in the woods, I am convinced that he knows his way back from there. He is such a friendly boy (he always thinks everyone wants to say hello to him and that they couldn't possibly be just out walking minding their own business) that I am sure someone would have seen him by now.But who knows!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I regularly walk in the woods you mention with my dogs. I also walk around Meopham, Cobham, Luddesdown, Harvel etc. Have been keeping an eye out and have alerted other dog owners who are regularly in the area. Have you alerted the Ranscombe Farm people and local farmers as they might have or could see him in their area. Hope there is some positive news about Bullet soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is where Bullet went missing Tonbridge & Malling council area because Brian Milligan the dog warden there is very good indeed. I can't help with legwork until the weekend because of work committments all over the county this week. Today I'm in Canterbury. I suspect you're putting fresh food out every day at the missing spot anyway? I'd almost pitch a tent for a night spooky though it might feel. let me know if there's a specific area you'd like me to cover at the weekend. Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you for these suggestions. We have already done everything you have mentioned. We have been back to the spot he disappeared every day searching and calling, even took his squeaky toy, its not to far from the blue lake. We are taking Bullets buddy Bobby up there today to see if he could sniff him out, if he is hiding. We just need a little bit of luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Would it be worth scenting and putting food down in the spot he ran off from. I suspect he'd have tried to backtrack to it as the squirell would have gone up a tree not too far away. Collies are so intelligent. Are these woods near the vibrant coloured Blue Circle quarry lake? Would be worth handing posters into the workers there. Would also be worth contacting Sandhole Vets near Snodland just in case someone took him in there. Even poster the leybourne park where the lakes are. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Today I have contacted our local papers and 3 have agreed to include a section on our boy. Everyone we have met has been wonderful and supportive & so have friends and family. It just so hard not knowing what has happened to bullet. We have had calls but no sightings of our dog, not one! We feel totally helpless, although we have done everything possible. The collie sighted at Meopham was seen at approx 3 in the afternoon and Bullet was lost in the evening later so does not appear to have been Bullet. Also the person who saw it says it was in matted condition and looked poorly ,wouldnt be caught, this means that Bullet likely to be around the woods somehwere unless found and taken home by someone of course. Person who saw collie in Meopham cannot be certain either way as she only saw the back of the dog , will try to find out if times match up. POsters have been put up by owners everywhere , very good job and hope this brings Bullet home. Just received the email for this, what a gorgeous young lad! I hope the lead on the Collie in Meopham is sound. My partner is more often in that area than me so I will arm him with posters. He has family in Meopham so I'll make sure he lets them know too. If I can get over Cuxton way early in the week I will do some postering if he hasn't already been found.
