I'm sorry to say that poor Kizzy never made it home, family went to the vets this morning to find out that unfortunately she was hit by a car on Friday. They were able to bring her straight home so she can be laid to rest where she belongs. Thank you for all the shares even though it was not the outcome we hoped for :( RIP Kizzy xx

Yes local garages have been checked and hedges etc too, family have been out night and day to see if they can see her, 'Lost' posters have been put through doors and on trees/telegraph poles and in the local post office. Unfortunately the sound of can openers or shaking treat wont work as she is completely deaf :( I will pass on information about putting her scent on the gates etc and I believe a shelter has been made for her and she usually has some spaces outside that she hides in anyways (all have been checked) also thank you for that information we thought it was just as she was getting older but when we get her back it looks like a vet visit is needed as she does eat a lot! Thank you again :) Fingers crossed she is found today x

Kizzy has not lost weigt just because she is elderly. (I used to think that) My 17 year old cat had lost a lot of weight, so we took her for a vet check. She was found to have an overactive thyroid gland. After beinbg on meds, she is putting the weight back on:-) The vet said weight loss in cats is usually caused by an illness, but mainly treatable thankfully. Hope Kizzy is home soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2016-01-17 16:38:12

Presume all sheds, garages etc searched. Look behind hedges too. Sbhe will still have a good sense of smell. Put some tuna/sardines in her dish, and keep calling her; night or early morning is best; shake some treats too. Put sometbhing with her scent on such as her blanket/bedding, and place in a clean container, along wkith something with your scent on too. Leave in the gardren in a sheltered spot. Wipe her scent on all your garden fences (Inside, and out), and gates too. Put "Lost" posters through doors, and ask around. Try this; open a TIN of cat food as the sound of the opener, and smell of the food may help bring her back. There is a site online called Catchat, which gives many tips on how to find . your lost cat, it is very good. Just google Catchat lost cats Someone may be feeding her. Paws xd.

Thank you for all the shares and help, been out looking today with family and the dog to see if he could smell her but unfortunately no sign, postered the area and handed out small leaflets to dog walkers who are keeping an eyeout too. They are going to ring all local vets tomorrow and fingers crossed she comes home soon x
