We received a message from Oldham Council.
Hi it is Tracey from
Oldham Council Highways, I received a call on New Years Day about a dog that had been run over near Federick Street in Oldham. The dog was a small Yorkshire terrier and there was a red collar in the road where it lay.

I saw your appeal on Facebook and wanted to put your mind at rest if it was your dog that we had picked up.

If it is your dog then I am sorry to say it didn't survive and we took it to Moorhey Street Depot. If you would like to come to the depot on Monday I will show you the dog and if you would like you can take it home to bury it properly.

I am truly sorry if it turns out to be your dog but i thought you would like to know as soon as possible that it could be. Thank you Tracey

I'll be there at 10. I hope this is not our friend :(

Leigh Parvez Me and Tamara Lee Howard was trying to catch him but he was so timid and running scared, we last saw him heading towards Chamber Road right at the top of cash gate court xx

My dog also escaped last night, luckily I found him sat outside my friends house half an hour later but whilst out looking I saw this dog and tried to catch him, me and my friend saw him running scared up Hollins Road and then down Millgate at the side of Oasis School and onto Cashgate Court, he was way too fast and scared, we last saw him heading onto Chamber Road x
