- Some cats that have gone missi ng are not all that far away from home, especially if they are neutered /spayed. It may be that some has been feeding him Stay safe now Gus:-)xxx

- From owner: Hi... I just want to let you know that against all odds, Gus has found his way home. He's skinny and has a head full of ticks but otherwise OK. Thanks for all your help

- Thanks janiejewel1649, Candlemaker's Park is the street we live on. We've put flyers through every letter box on the street and posters on light posts. We've left a warm bed on the front porch and put his litter tray out there as well to help him catch his scent. I hadn't thought about wiping his and our scents on trees, scrubs and fence posts so he could follow it home. This is his 3rd night out however and because he's a kitten he hasn't got a winter coat and he's a skinny wee lad so I'm afraid, if he's outside still, that he may be in a bad way and wouldn't be able to get home even if he caught his scent. I'm going back out tomorrow to ask people to check in their gardens, sheds and garages again. Thanks for your comments, they're really appreciated

- even though only 4 months old, Gus will have a very strong sence of smell. (About 15 times more than humans). Go the the park where he was lost, and take something with his scent on, such as his blanket/bedding, and some treats, and tuna if you can. Take something with your scent on too. Visit the woodzs with the same items; continue rattling the treats. Wipe his scent on as many things as possible from the park/woods to your house, such as lamposts , fences etc. Also wipe his scent o n your garden fences too (Inside, and out), and gates too. Leave his scent also in the garden in a sheltered spot. Cats rely so much on scent. When you go to the park/woods keep on calling his name of course. Put "LOST" poosters through doors, and ask around Ask as many people as possible to put him on Fb, and share. Someone may have picked him up. Presume not neutered yet? If not good idea when you find him, then he wont stray far. Paws xd..Last edited: 2015-12-31 17:23:49
