Merry Christmas to you Jasper - it was a good rant :)
DogLostJasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
Hi Bo, yes thanks for that and apologies for earlier rant! It is just a subject that I feel passionately about. I shall now pack away my soap box for Xmas! Best wishes to you up there.
Bo
Jasper - Leigh cats and dogs home are the contracted kennels to take responsibility for the unfortunate strays of West Lancs, Salford, St Helens, Wigan and Bolton councils.

Great to get an update that the Lurcher has found a new home if owner does not claim him and all goes well. :)

Not long posted and CROSS POSTED from fb:

Sarah Barrie Simpson - A lady has taken a fancy to the lurcher found in Winsford. I've given her acorn kennels number. Providing he gets along with her dogs and no one claims him. She's going g to adopt him. So one way or another the lurcher has a home xxx

Thanks jasper, for your comments. If you have any concerns re the Council kennels it would be best to contact them direct (number is in the details above). Myself and Bo are only sharing details of FOUND dogs to help them be REUNITED with their families.

Sorry Bo, thought this was in connection with the kennels that the council uses to re home it's strays which would appear to have some unfavourable reviews. If it is the same kennels mentioned in previous posts, according to their website they seem to re home without neutering and also breed and sell puppies. If this is true, the council should be insisting that all strays re homed through this kennels

NickyB, this is the FOUND group share for Cheshire West & Chester dogs I've done for a while and shared on fb. I've not put them on DogLost as with not being in direct contact with the kennels we do not know if they have been REUNITED or REHOMED.

I've also been doing a group one for NW MISSING dogs on DogLost and share that on fb as well.

Thanks Bo for answering jaspers comments. Not sure if you got the email I sent you via your registered email address.
Bo
Jasper - Cheshire and Cheshire West councils aren't a rescue. They received a gold standard award for not killing ANY of their stray dogs when they have served their 7 days. The supporting neutering comment was awarded as this council actively help people on lower incomes get their animals neutered.

Thanks for your input.
DogLostJasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
I would just say that instead of "supporting neutering" any responsible rescue will ensure that every dog or cat passing through their care will not be re homed until it has been neutered. I have never before heard of any rescue that does not do this as the animal cannot then be used for breeding purposes. It is just not good enough for a rescue to send a dog to a new home with a neutering voucher.
Bo
NickyB - Majorjet did this one but the app I use is called "Moldiv" and I think it's free but cant remember - they have various options for collages. It's really good :)
NickyB
bo I wish I knew how you do this montage of photos its brilliant. thankyou. this is my local council and all the 20 yrs I have been doing animal rescue they have always been so helpful.

Thanks Bo for copying it over from Council website. :)
Bo
I'm compelled to add this to applaud this council

"We retained the RSPCA gold footprint this year for our work with stray dogs within the borough. This is the third year we have been awarded the gold standard
The award relates to the handling and care of stray dogs as well as more long term issues such as supporting neutering and micro-chipping. It also recognises our anti-euthanasia stance in relation to our re-homing policy.

If only ALL councils made the effort like this council do. ✨✨✨✨ Gold star
