Is there a new "Kid on the block" where you live (New cat) as sometimes a dominant cat will chase a cat out of it`s own territory. However the cat will come home eventually Presumne you have tried Cat protection? Although microchipped, I believe they can move sometimes. Dont give up
Tasmyn
Cday4 Thank you, Earls hall had no charity appointments at that time on Friday they did however have an appointment for an owned black and white cat around that time so guessing that's who you saw.
I've contacted every vets from Shoebury out to benfleet, hullbridge and rayleigh inc the 24 PDSA at Basildon and none of them have Oreo or a cat that has been brought in following an RTA.

I'm posting on behalf of my daughter Tasmyn who Oreo belongs to.
When she phoned Anibase on Thursday to tell them Oreo was lost, she found out that her vets had never put her details on the chip, two years previous!!
She has had a message tonight from a someone who was following a white car which hit a cat on Stornoway Rd on Wednesday about midnight. The middle aged lady driver got out and said she was going to et hold of her husband and they would take the cat to a local vets. The person who messaged saw the cat and feels it was Oreo.
If Oreo was taken to a rescue or vets on Wednesday night and scanned his chip would have had no details on it.
Tas is going to phone all the vets in the whole area again tomorrow.
Thanks Cday4. Its possible that this is Oreo if he had been passed to a rescue by then, with them thinking his chip was blank!!! She will phone Earls Hall vets tomorrow.
If anyone out there can share this around vets, rescues and people they know living in the SS2 area she would be very very grateful.
Thanks for all your help.
Cday4
This may be a wild goose chase, but you never know. I was at Earls hall vets in westcliff at midday on Friday and there was a cat that looked just like this in the vets. The carry case had a label on it that made me think it was from a charity. May be worth calling them, they are open tomorrow.

Ok great, I'll put some of my jumpers on the washing line he loves to sit on them!!
There's so many cats round here, that I don't think the food will last long but worth a try. We know a lot of the gardens that he visits (along with his brother) and he goes into about 5 gardens but across three rows of houses, so our 5 in a line, then the five whose gardens back onto our and the houses across the street from us have a grass alley between them and around the back of their gardens and he visits a few in a line over there so I think his territory is quite big.

Neutered male cats only have a teritory of about four garden spaces according to where you live. It`s two for a spayed female cat. Paws xd, Early days yet, and someone may be feedibg him. A cvat on Doglost had been missing for eight weeks; now reunited

Hi Tasymn. No worries you can put something with your scent on if you are the person who usually feeds him; like an old jumper perhaps. Hoover contents are a good idea too Still leave sone food outside I would
Tasmyn
I wish he had a blanket or something like that that would have his strong scent on it!!
:(

My daughters cat was missing and we hung her blanket on the washing line and it worked .Sounds like you are doing everything possible, fingers crossed x
Tasmyn
Yes and have knocked on everyone in our road and neighbouring streets with posters asking them to keep a look out and check their sheds etc. He doesn't really have anything that he sleeps on - he likes our bed, the sofa and the sky box so can't put anything outside. Have tried shaking cat treats outside whilst calling. Emptied Hoover bag contents out front and back. Thanks for suggestions x

Early days yet. Presume all outbuildings checked, in case he has been locked in? As Oreo is neutered possibly not far away. Put some tuna/sardines in his dish, and keep calling him; night or early morning is best; shake some treats too. Put something with Oreo`s scent on such as his blanket/bedding, and place i a clean container, along with something with your scent on too. Leave in the garden i na sheltered spot. Wkipe his scent on all your garden fences (Inside, and out), and gates too. Put "Lost" posters through doors, and ask around Try this too. Open the door, and open a TIN of cat food, as the sound of the opener, and smell of the food mat help bring him back. I know he is wary of strangers, but even so someone may be feeding him. He is a mirror image of my cat Lucy:-)xxx Paws xd.Last edited: 2015-12-18 15:27:45
