Calamity Jane if a chip is cut out then there would be a scar!
Alipali what was the end result when you made enquiries? I am sure that you would be allowed to go and see this dog!Last edited: 2016-02-04 06:09:57 by ClaireC

Alipali, just because they can't find a chip on the found labradoodle please don't rule out that it may yet be Tessa. The found labradoodle was found opposite a travellers site and was running scared. Microchips can be cut out by those who steal dogs; they can also stop working/migrate.
alipali
Thanks for links to the lost and found doodles FB page. I've contacted the animal rescue centre and sent pictures of Tessa so they can compare with the dog that's been found. It could be her, but her fur is so matted it is hard to compare. Also, they cannot find a microchip. I will call them again on Monday. Thanks everyone for continued help, Ali

The one found near Beddington park a listed below by S does look a lot like Tessa - Fingers crossed

A blonde female labradoodle - heavily matted - has been picked up near Beddington Park in Croydon, Surrey. Here's a link to Lost and Found Doodles where you'll find her photo. She's being looked after by the Wildlife and Animal Rescue centre in Beddington Park, Croydon.https://www.facebook.com/groups/lostandfounddoodlesuk/

Oh, yes, please ask the finder if you can, she may have been "picked up" and kept and managed to get out. If she is yours I'm sure we can help with transport. Please check even though I think they can't find a chip - sometimes chips fail to register for one reason or another

Please take a look at this dog on Facebook link - a distance away, but just in case:

We had several more calls on Weds 2 Dec from people living in and around North Curry, including someone who thought they had our dog and handed in to St. Giles animal rescue that day. Unfortunately, it turned out that these sightings were of a male labradoodle called Harry who looks very similar to Tessa and often goes wandering away from home in Knapp locally.

What this means (since we think the much earlier sightings around that area are likely to been of him too) is that Tessa has not been since since the morning she disappeared.

So we are a bit at a loss now with no further sightings to follow up. We have posted on several local Facebook groups, put posters up and leafleted house in the local area. I have now realised how to 'follow' Tessa on here, sorry that's why I wasn't responding straight away before, so will keep you posted if there's any more news.

Thanks again for everyone's help, it does mean a lot. To be honest, I have got to the stage where I am finding it hard to look at pics of her now and we've had so many red herrings to follow up it's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster. 6 weeks ago I had open heart surgery, which is why Bob and I have not been able to be as present or involved with her as we'd like recently, and most likely contributed to her wandering off in the first place. Do appreciate your help xx

Anymore news or sighting since Knapp? Would she perhaps be trying to get somewhere? Would it make sense to walk any particular area now?Last edited: 2015-12-04 23:13:18 by MacIntosh

Had a good drive around the area this afternoon. Saw lots of posters up and added few more for good measure. Just need some more sightings.
alipali
Myself and my partner Bob are going to look in Knapp tomorrow and will poster the area. Just hope she can hang in there with all this terrible weather! xx

Hello everyone, sorry once again only just seen all the latest posts on here, you've been amazing, thank you. I wanted to update on Tessa. We have now had a recent sighting (Thurs 26 Nov) in Knapp, near the Rising Sun pub (TA3 6BG). That would fit with other sightings of a dog on its own matching her description in North Curry the previous week. So please continue to keep an eye out if you are around that way. Really appreciate everyone's help and kindness so far xx

Just back from postering. Managed to get them in good prominent spots I think and covered a fair area. Does anyone know who owns/ shoots, the areas of woodland around there? Would be worth a call if so? Did lots of calling her name on my way round but nothing I'm afraid. Gave a poster to environment agency so they are aware. Hope for some positive news.

There has been a similar looking dog found in Norfolk (id 95175) but there are no more details posted yet. It could be worth having a look to see if it is Tessa. If not, I do hope you find her soon x

I'm sorry there are no sightings yet, owner doing all the right things.

Please help if you can be putting up posters or searching in the Langport/Curry Rival area. Is there someone who can drop a poster into Living Pretty please before lunchtime?
alipali
Thanks very much to everyone from Dog Lost in trying to locate Tessa. Sadly no more sightings and I'm unable to look for her as recovering from recent open heart surgery! My partner Bob has walked the local fields, although it's a large rural area, and she could be anywhere on the moors between Langport, Curry Rivel, Aller and Burrowbridge. He has also knocked on the doors of local houses and we are in the process of putting posters up. I've also contacted the local vets and rescue centres and the British Transport Police as a railway line runs through the area. Please do get in touch if you are local and can help Bob in looking or putting up posters. Thanks again, I think this service is amazing considering everyone is a volunteer!

Sorry to see that TESSA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (94948)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
