The dog sitter is presumably licenced by the council, so a complaint should be made to them. Also possibly worth contacting www.doglaw.co.uk who may advise on legal options open.

Jainwp thank you so much - that dog looks SOOOO much like Ruby but it isn't as both her legs are white and she hasn't got the two black markings on her nose. Thank you so much though - that poor dog defo looks like her. I hope he's ok xx

Finding tonight really difficult as it's a week ago since the phone call when I was told Roo had died of a stroke at the vets (TOTAL LIE!). The following day the lies unfolded and this nightmare began. 7 days of frantically finding Ruby and she is still missing! Dreading the very worse; that she did something to her and did, as she said to me, put her in the rubbish...

Thank you to everyone on here - I cannot believe this page as had 967 views already and 157 shares - I'm totally and utterly blown away and am taking some comfort from the kindness of people out there all hoping that I find Ruby and get her back. Have never felt so anxious in my life x

I paid in the first instance for her food but when the care became more long term then she did not want any money so I gave money to a dog charity each month. She appeared to be a genuinely great person who was dedicated to the welfare of dogs (I wouldn't have had anyone lesser looking after Ruby). Clearly I was wrong and have to live with that and the implications right now. Thanks for the advice though Skywalker99 - I appreciate any comment or viewing.

Police aware? Were you paying the dog walker to look after her, if she was taking money and had 'disposed' of the dog isn't that fraud?

• If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
• A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (94504)
• Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
• You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
• Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
• If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
• If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
