It was the anniversary yesterday of when Kobe went missing, still only seems like yesterday, he holds a special place in a lot of peoples hearts. Michelle has never given up looking for her handsome Kobe sending him a big hug wherever he is.

Thinking of you Michelle, Kobe and family, special hugs and kisses to all. xxx

Hi, you may remember me, my lovely old lurcher Tiger (no 9337) went missing around the same time as your little chap. I have never found Tiger either and still regularly search websites and the internet looking for her, even tho she would be 17 now so I know it is useless as she must surely be at Rainbow Bridge. The hardest part is the not knowing and not being able to put a closure on it. I do have two new lurchers who came about by my helpers searching for Tiger so I know that something good has come from something bad. I still miss her tho. Thinking of you. Louise xx

My heart goes out to you. I know how you feel as my dog "Teddy" was never found. That was 6 yrs next month and I have never stopped thinking about him. I got another dog a year later and it was the best thing I could have done, so dont dismess it.
I think shelties mums' idea is a good one. If you can afford it.

I've never stopped thinking about this one. He's so beautiful. If you know he's in that area, maybe it might be worth shelling out on a private detective whose evidence could steer the police to the right house.
Fingers still crossed for a reunion. xx

Three years on and we still yearn for his return. Life moves on but the hole is still there in our lives. We have not bought another dog as who could replace this special dog. Please contact us the people of Liverpool especially Huyton/Paige Moss as I know he is still there. The reward is still waiting for information leading to his recovery. The Edwards Family

Michelle cannot believe it is now 2 years to the day since your lovely boy went missing, it seems like only yesterday when we first met and I could not get over the wall but put Tillie my BC over and luckily she managed to jump back.   Thinking of you and your family today and waiting for the day when his Chip gets read or someone recognises him.  We know you have never given up looking for him.  Will meet up soon to carry on looking for him he is out there somewhere.  Don't forget the Rochdale Rescue Show in June.  Hugs and kisses to all of you.  Jan xxx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michelle sorry I missed your posts I recently relocated work premises, I've not been well and then went to Crufts from Thursday and got back Monday. Poster updated to include reward amount and I'll email schools asap.  Need to update the various size posters first and also resend to you.  Let me know if there is anything in particular you want on them Keep checking with the Chip Co and make sure no-one else tries to change his details.  If he was taken to a vets to get chipped they should hopefully scan him first, but this cannot be relied on.  I have just tried to ring you re the media coverage, a good quality photo is required. Yasa & Majorjet thank you for the wishes but I'm still waiting for my heart to come back. Couldn't stop crying through mass as it's been 7 months since I've set foot in Church. I've lit a candle for Kobe and for all those other missing dogs out there. It's so wrong that they've got good homes and people still take them. It amazes me that so many disappear into thin air (like the black hole). Let's hope more are home soon.Love Michelle.XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry Michelle I had confused this dog with another I'd posted on - it's all come back to me now... Next time there is a meeting at Aintree I'll try to remember to post to the horseracing forums to print off posters, if anyone is going, and hand them round. Suggest you also try leafleting the big football matches as people come and go - esp kids - is Liverpool or Everton nearest Huyton? Time to think laterally. If Kobe is being kept in a garden/indoors, then someone or their kids might have seen him when visiting. Can't think of anything else to help right now :^(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Trawelled round possible areas on outskirts of Huyton, some sorts of houses are more easy to trace but other types there are 100s of. Waiting to see if I can get any more specific information. Hi Mitch - just wanted to say that a friend of mine near here, lost her lurcher in May - he was on doglost - stolen and sold at a horse fair and ended up in Worcestershire - and was picked up by a dog warden, close to a certain type of site, who scanned him and lo and behold he is back home again. Nicole the media story sounds brilliant and thanks for thinking of Kobe. While at the Dogs Trust Open Day last Sunday with Mitch we asked stall holders to display a poster with pictures of North dogs on. One girl who we got talking to had a red and white BC she got the third degree at first (discreetly) on how long she had had her etc, turned out she works in a local kennels that take in strays and will be on the lookout, gave her a copy of the list. Nicre thank you so much I would love Kobe to be included on Tuesday. I'll be in touch over the weekend if you don't mind, I'm in Liverpool on Sunday. SPoken to the Klee Kai owners but they are not selling Kobe but was worth ckecking on anyway. Been in touch with the press and hoping they will run the ?500 reward follow up story, will chase on Monday. An old friend of mine has contats in the Huyton area and the lads working for him live around the Liverpool area. He rang this week (no news of Kobe) but he was shocked how many knew of him after passing on flyers. He said their ears definately pricked up at the reward offer and one even said is that the bird from wales or somewhere! Praying to God for that oe sighting as to who has him. Thanks for the supportive comments.XXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jacky-Uk thanks for that it was so heart warming to find Blue's story after 9 months of searching. Would like to thank Jan for spending all afternoon with me at the Dogs Trust in Huyton. Also to all the stall holders who let us put posters up of Kobe and the other North West dogs. We gave out over 250 flyers of Kobe and it was good that people remembered him, but we put the word out HE IS STILL MISSING. Thank you to all who took extras to put in their local shops and also to a tip off from Janette who had noticed 2 Klee Kai's for sale on a dog web site. will phone tomorrow to check it out but with 2 for sale don't think it will be Kobe.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch - still watching Kobe daily - a newspaper follow up would be good I think. I am always conscious on the one hand that I hope to be a support as much as I can, but on the other hand very aware that for some people there must come a point where they feel 'enough'. Probably most people would sway from one to the other - we were lucky that our missing dog was found after a week, had it gone on longer I am not sure how we would have dealt with it. I feel for everyone with missing dogs x x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jacky-uk and Louise we've decided to put out a ?500 reward to try and get some information as to his where abouts. My husband suggested it at the start but after speaking to people we just put down reward. Thanks for the support as feeling like a zombie going through the motions. Jan I'm wondering if the press would do a follow up story in that we have had to come back to Shropshire but still spend weekends searching in Liverpool, but more especially about the reward offer. I know it's going to bring all sorts but I've got nothing left to loose. We had a missed call yesterday from the pitbull source. They spoke to my husband and was asking if we had him back by now. I've left a voice mail. I'll be at the Dogs trust tomorrow so see some of you there.Mitch.XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't give up hope Michelle, if someone does have Kobe then they may not know he is missing and could be loving him like you do. One of my local helpers lost her dog for 4 months and he was only seen once yet she had him back - at least he is young and healthy. I had just about given up on Tiger thinking that she was dead as had heard nothing and she is old but then out of the blue got a call (albeit a few weeks ago now) but it was a sighting of her and I know she is surviving. We will find our babies, I'm sure of it, but it will take time and patience. You are doing everything possible and I know it breaks your heart every time you talk about it or look at a photo. Keep your chin up. Louise XXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jacky uk that is a good thought, it did cross my mind in the beginning. Currently sending letters with posters to all dog groomers in merseyside. Starting to loose hope as it's been 3 months and whoever has him is keeping a low profile. How do I get someone to rat on them? Jan, Jacky-UK and Tracy2306 thank you for your continued support. Took ages to get up to the pool yesterday so only had time to get to Smithdown Rd for printers and visited Halewood before closing. Also stopped off at Ultimatepooch on Smithdown Road and spoke to Ann. Passed on posters and leaflets for her to be on the look out, she has family in Southport so will pass them on and also to her doggie contacts. Also spoke to receptionist and vets at Crawford & Crawford in Aigburth. They haven't had Kobe in their surgery but do check for chips. they have taken poster and leaflets and the vetnurse will take them to the other surgery. Did all night vigil on Roby Road last night and the only thing I saw at 3.50am was a fox followed by another at 4.20am! They cross from the golf course over the road to the Plessy field. There's overhanging bushes so I thought there must be a hole in the wall hidden by the over hanging bracken but on investigation they must jump over the wall. Jan the gates are shut now at Plessy's so I jumped the wall at daylight. Luckily the security guards and dogs were no where to be seen! The posters are still up along Roby Road but I'm going to reposter further afield in Huyton next weekend and also Prescot shopping center. Poped poster into Paws and Claws on Hillcrest Parade in Huyton and drove around the Roby area, scouting round after 7am this morning. Put some new posters up along Archways Road for the waiting traffic. Will be up next Saturday and Sunday, as well attending the Dogs Trust.XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The area around Roby Station is very residential and some big houses. We have been reposting the houses and attaching a letter to ask people to check their gardens etc in case he has been sleeping there. The old Plessey Club field is a possible place for him to hole up (we cannot see any access but the gates have been opened on that last few visits) also the Golf Course opposite this field. The area has been well postered and a lot of people are aware of him missing. MITCH do not forget to get permission from land owner if staying overnight on the Plessey land as it is private. Hi Michelle - thanks for your messages on my sight - I know exactly what you are going through and it is heartbreaking. I go through excited highs when I get sightings (which are so few and far between) but then lows when Tiger is not found. I really hope you find your little dog, it sounds as tho you have been trying so hard - I only wish that I could go out every day searching for Tiger but when she is well over 100 miles away it makes it so difficult when I have to work, and I hate the fact that I have to rely on other people all the time and feel I'm doing nothing. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Louise xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met with Jan yesterday (thank you for your time) and we repostered up along Roby Road and also freshened up posters by the golf club and station itself. Got the updated posters/flyers so will get a load printed out this week. Jan, hubby and I have put flyers along with a letter to householders asking them to check their gardens and keep a look out. Also drove around area and put a load of flyers through Viv's door for the kids to flyer for me. Got the updated flyers and posters so will get them printed out for assult again next weekend. Will probably stake out Roby Rd as well. Jacky-Uk will def try the schools as pinched the yellow pages so have full list to ring around. Sat outside the plessey field again early this morning before meeting Mitch and hubby to repost along Roby Road posting smaller posters through doors. Ran out of posters so hoping to go back this Sunday evening to finish off the road. Mitch had to go back to Shropshire and may not be able to get back to Liverpool until next weekend. How very strange that the PDSA you mentioned does not check all new dogs! Did they say why they don't carry out this check. Is it they don't have a scanner? or do they not have the time?. I realise they are funded by donations and time costs money but it's hardly rocket science. They may find a lost/stolen dog whose owner can actually pay for required treatment. Even our very rural, very basic vets scan new dogs!. I suppose sometimes common sense just flys out of the window. Sorry I'm in a moaning mood today - . Come on Kobe your Dad is desperate to get you back home. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had busy 4 days in Liverpool last weekend. Drove around areas last seen. Covered most vets and will post out to the rest folowed up by phonecall. Have decided to ring them every 3 weeks to keep them on the ball. Ones I have spoken to do check for chips on all new dogs however PDSA in Anfield doesn't. Also spoken to Chris at Eaton Road Police she has got my poster and has faxed to all stations in Merseyside asking them to put it up in customer waiting rooms. Had call off Sharon who saw story in South Liverpool paper on Wed night. She's logged onto Doglost and is 99% sure she has seen Kobe at 12.30 along Roby Rd heading towards the Station. Currently trying to sort out time on Saturday to reposter along there and re leaflet houses with letter. Will also scent area and stake it out. Spent over 2.5 hrs in the Huyton area tonight. Drove around the sighted roads and parked up for 1.5 hrs by the old plessey land, which is on Roby Rd opposite the golf course. The gates to the plessey land were open wide and are normally closed and locked. When we checked the field the other week we could not find any obvious way Kobe could get in or out onto the Roby Rd side, but not sure about the side backing onto the railway. This part of Huyton is much quieter than Dinas Lane. Rang the lady who sighted a dog fitting Kobe's description yesterday and when looking on the site is 99% certain it was Kobe. Said she is going to register on DL and keep a look out for him. Also spoke to Viv who lives in Huyton for an update and there have been no sightings and she is still looking out in the area. Planning to meet up with Mitch on Saturday morning to put flyers through the houses along Roby Road and re poster lamposts etc. The search for Kobe goes on. xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call yesterday from Mitch just after 1830hrs there had been another reported sighting at approx 1500hrs yesterday. Some lads said they had seen him in Newby Grove (off Dinas Lane) and tried to catch him. Went straight away to area and spent just over 3 hours driving round and parked up near Val's house. While driving down Dinas Lane managed to see the dog again that could be mistaken for Kobe. Followed him around for a while and took photos on mobi. Dog seemed very confident as if it knew the area. Spoke to dog walkers everyone had seen the posters. Met Viv walking around the area with her grandchildren searching. She said one of the lads asked if Kobe's coat was shorter now so feel they may have seen the loose dog. At least that dog has a red collar on which has a long end piece hanging down so need to check this on any other reported sightings. At least this dog has been seen while with Viv and we know it is not the same dog she has seen. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met up with Viv earlier today we drove and also walked around the Huyton area. Did see one dog on Dina's Lane that could easily have been mistaken for Kobe, Val agreed and after having a good look is sure it is not the dog she has seen. Have let Mitch know about this dog and described the collar in case anyone else rings with a sighting. They said it is definitely Kobi they have been seeing in the Huyton area. Showed them more pictures of Kobi. Viv is still out looking for him and postering. Her grandchildren and their friends said they would poster leaflets to houses in the area. Thank you. Must also thank Vetnurse who turned up at car boot and helped hand out flyers, greatly appreciated. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch has had a phonecall today from young lad who has seen media coverage this week in the Huyton Roby Star. Said he seen Kobe about 3 weeks ago in Stanhope Drive L36, Huyton with Roby which is near where Vivien has seen him. The area borders with a few other postcodes. Just spoke to Vivien and she has been going out looking for Kobe and was in Stanhope Drive last night, just what we need a dog loving contact in the area on the look out THANK YOU Viv. Thank you all I can't believe how good you all are for Kobe, I can't stop crying at all your support. Just to update on latest calls. Claire phoned to say she saw an old man walking a dog at 6pm on Roby Rd but on description she said he had brown on his face and Kobe is black and white. Mavis rang and said her Yorkie ended up in Manchester dog home, that the police took him there so going sat afternoon. Have had a call off Angela an editor on the women's desk and she's looking to get it in the women's mags. Jeff works for DHL and suggested that I go to the Aintree and Speke depots with posters for the drivers as they cover all Liverpool. Jan's dog went missing for 16 days he was blind. Was seen round same area and found along the M62, think he was hanging out around the Golf course so will recheck there. Thanks to Debbie looking for Lucy a bearded collie missing, I'm taking her poster with me round the homes. Most promising is Vivian who lives in Elmswood Gr, her grandson saw Kobe 2 weeks ago but the children ran after him and scared him off. On Monday night her grandaughter saw him in their back garden as she has a springer. She followed him down Charnwood and Dina's Lane and has been looking for him. She is quite certain it's him since seeing the Echo. Going to visit her on Friday with a poster and take Cally round on Saturday if needs be. Will reposter this area as they have been ripped down in past weeks. I've marked my map with the latest sighting and if he is still loose it makes sense looking at the map. Lots to do over next few days so I'll update when I can access internet. Thanks to you all and KOBE GET HOME!!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks everyone. Corbiere welcome on board. Jacky-uk e-mailing the schools is greatly appreciated. There has been another sighting in the area he went missing. Have been waiting for Mitch to update at the moment she has dial up so does not log on until late. I rang the lady back and she says she has seen him twice over the past two weeks and he has actually been in her garden. If this is him her house is an ideal place to get him to go to, once in the garden she can close back door to keep him in. Discussed about leaving food to try and get him to go back on a regular basis if possible. Lady has been going out with her grandchildren looking for him. She is not on the internet so unable to send a poster for her to compare for when she next sees the dog. Mitch is sending one by post just in case I cannot get there, hopefully I will Drop one off tomorrow night and look around. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just thinking about the sighting, Ralph's Wife's Lane (funny name for a road!) is in the Banks area of Southport, had friends there years ago. I think it is quite a rural area from memory. Not the main tourist drag, so I would think the man spotted would probably be living locally to there. I wonder whether he was 'doing' the boot fair or a buyer. xx xx xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a lots of calls yesterday 2 said they saw him at RSPCA in Halewood on Sat but jan visited Sat and I on Sun. There was a cute dog similar size but not fluffy like Kobe, so I think they mean that one. Also George rang to say he saw a small grey and white dog outside the Asda in Aintree being patted by kids, will have a look on Friday to follow up. Some calls by kind people were to suggest things like schools and Manchester dogs home etc, so thanking the kind people taking time to ring. Most promising call was Elaine and Ron over the possible car boot sighting. Going to Southport on Saturday to follow up. Not sure if I did spot him whether to go through police or just kick him in the n_ts and take my dog back? What do you think? Fingers crossed for this to be the break we need. Thanks Jan and Keelah for all your hard work with the press. I spoke with Mike from the Echo this morning and Jeff the photographer came out tonight. Story still not in Daily Post but family are checking for the story. Most probably will be in Echo end of week and hopefully The merseymart this week. Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that we get some information off this pubilicity. I WANT HIM HOME NEXT WEEK FOR HIS BIRTHDAY! I've rode around Huyton all afternoon checking out all the places to no avail so here's hoping we get some calls soon. Thank you all for support you keep me going.Mitch.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keelah was on the phone to Mitch's Nan when you rang and the Echo are going there today to take photo's. Spoke to Mitch she has not got Cally with her so have asked her to ask Echo if they can see if they can get the photo that was taken on Saturday for the Daily Post of the children and Cally. Finally at last things seem to be moving on the media front. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch found this on http://www.dogworld.co.uk/node/170 ....... AN ALASKAN Klee Kai went missing from Huyton, Liverpool, on April 14. Kobe was last seen at Roby Station that day. He is black and white, microchipped and neutered, very timid and is described as looking like a miniature Siberian Husky. Phoned Petlog to check in but no calls. Spent Saturday & Sunday morning around Princess Drive but no joy, even had his sister Cally with me. Still patrolled round Roby Station area as usual. Put posters around Princess Drive, Paige Moss shops and some by ped way to Asda. I've put flyers through doors on most of Rupert Rd(until ran out), Larch Rd, Olive Gr, Grinton Court, Grinton Crescent, Kingsway and Maple Close. Also put in new posters to sorting office in Huyton with ?500 reward on them. The postie said it was funny I came in as he was in the vets with his dog and was asking if he'd been found, also he wouldn't want any money. That's comforting to know that people are still talking after 5 WEEKS! Took kids to King George V fields and passed flyers to other dog walkers most said they'd noticed my osters every where. Also had Cally with me so they have a good idea what to look for. They also took flyers to put in local shops but they think someone has him and is keeping a low profile. Photographer from Daily Post came and did photo's of the family, Cally and poster. Journalist is away on jollies so may be in Monday's Post. Really hope the Echo pick it up but also wanted to speak to Jess with more info. The guy who had Princess Dr sighting rang on Sat to see if any luck. He said it was a small black dog with lots of hair looking very tired and lost. Will keep an eye out for me. Visited RSPCA but no joy there, it breaks my heart seeing all those poor dogs. Spoke to people when doing flyers and stopped all dog walkers so using that personal touch for people to care about fINDING KOBE. Just waiting for calls now, printing out more posters and will hit the pool again on Tuesday and target Roby College. Thank you all for words of encouragement.Mitch.x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Keelah and Vetnurse for the suggestions. Now that our holidays are over we are going to refresh the search and postering. Suggested finding taxi offices, milk depots, asking shopkeepers if they will include a flyer in the echo's for delivery. Will try and find out the delivery people of the Star which is delivered in Huyton and is the equivalent to the Merseymart. Mitch is revisiting the post office depot's. Had call off nan that a guy has phoned saying he saw a dog like Kobe on Princess Drive by the shops at 6.45am, with lots of hair and looked lost. he phoned the dog warden but didn't leave number as work phone. Only rang this morn as came into Huyton and saw posters. This isn't all that far from last sightings if it is Kobe. Phoned Liv dog warden but they said a mess would be relayed to man in van and any stray picked up would go to Haleswood. Also phoned Knowsley dog warden but no joy! Phoned Petlog and no calls to them. Itching to get into action so wil drive up early in morn to hit Princess Drive round same time. Might not be Kobe but scavenging round shops early morn and not too far away makes sense to me! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No calls either off the posters or leaflets through doors. Thinking off putting a figure of cash down in the sorting room for the postmen as an incentative. What do you think? Want to get round vets again at weekend and pester them all in Liverpool area. Also will do more flyers round the area as in STILL MISSING please look for him. If someone has him they have to have neighbours as they can't keep him hidden inside forever. Back in Uk and drove round Friday night again before going home to Shropshire(no home whilst Kobe away). Lovely Ed rang me back to say checked out area but the strays were not Kobe. Call off Ray was appreciated but not Kobe as too big and old. The vets phonecall had my family looking in woods by Sugar lane or Rd in Knowsley Village but no luck. Thanks to Sue Tate who spent sat 5th driving around Huyton with Kasper searching the grounds of the station, park and golf club. Also thanks to Vicky who checked out RSPCA in Halewood and Leigh Cats & Dog Home last week, as well scenting by the station(as well as scenting herself with my refill bottle). Also phoned dog warden in Knowsley but off on hol till 18th and other off sick so no joy there! Today have repostered around Church rd, pilch lane, bluebell lane, merton crescent, roby road, archways rd. Also put fly leaflets through doors on Sandfield Rd, Windsor Rd, Merton Close, Merton Crescent, Wentworth Grove and Woodford Rd. Passed out leaflets in rain to dog walkers and was asked "Are you the lady in the blue car?" I've been spotted by her and other dog walkers as well as the milkman driving round in the last 3 weeks. Glad to know these people are looking out for him. Starting to feel that someone may have him now as no recent sightings. It's a month exactly tomorrow that he's been on walkabout but I still wih him home in time for his 6th Birthday on the 28th May! As hard as it is I am keeping focused on what I need to do as that Pommy guy who got his dog back after 2 years said it's up to us to find the dog. I'm back in Shropshire again now but will be back in Liverpool at weekend to carry on. really need the press to come on board especially the ECHO! HELP ME!!!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had three calls today and so frustrating not being to jump into action. Ray phoned to say he had seen a dog like Kobe walking along Park Hurst Dr in Huyton with a limp, my dad?s phoning him for more info, also says he?ll keep a look out(Waiting for more feedback off father). Lovely Ed from the RSPC phoned me again to ask if Kobe was home. Told him about the call I?d had earlier and he says he?ll look round for me as walks his dog round there. Would love to thank Ed as he is very supportive. He still thinks someone has taken Kobe in? Also had call off Springfield Vets to say a lady who walks her dog has seen Kobe?s poster and thinks that she has seen him in a woods in Knowsley Village. They are phoning my family with more info later. Please keep up your good work as it's killing me being away from him. Every dog I see I look at twice even though I know it can?t be him. The worst is when my three year old son tells me that we must carry on looking for Kobe and the poor little girl missing in Portugal, as they will be together. Got call last night saying they had seen the police raid on Freshfields and they saw a dog like a wolf there. Can't get in touch with Freshfileds but they do have a poster of him plus the chip? Tramped round since 4am this morning and scented again, no sightings, also had his sister with me . Had to leave and go back home so things are going to be difficult at moment. Can't stop crying being home without him, like I've left him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you all for your suggestions. Tramped round and scented last night till midnight with Jan again(wonderful mad woman). Went out 4 till 6am this morning but no sign. Spoke to ticket guy at station and pestered him. Sharon from railtrack rang me back(manchester number) she is alerting the maint guys for sightings and has my number. Will ring her again and pester before we go on Friday and soon as we get back. Spoke to Jill at RSPCA in Haleswood and took Cally(Kobe's sister) so that the staff know what to look out for. Spoke to carole a supervisor in Asda at Huyton(she saw Kobe on Rupert Rd the day he got out), she got into trouble putting a poster up in Asda so gave her more as she will hand out flyers to people in area. It's so frustrating knowing he is out there but cannot access area on rail tracks. Will be out looking at teatime and again at 4 in morn with his sister. Will have to go back home tomorrow so dreading it (husband has moved his stuff for the moment and I don't know wether it will be a good thing to see or a bad thing?). My friend is going to use my scent whilst we're away and I'm notifying petlog etc I'll be away for week. nan's number and my mobile will be diverted but problem is if seen who could catch the little basket! Lots of posters ripped down so will be putting them up again and re leafleting round doors when I get back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Gosh you are all doing a great job, this is dedication, something will result for all your hard work and efforts to get back your fluffy ball. Glad your scenting!!! works a treat. If you keep following the same path around the area of the sighting it will be picked up by your baby. Look at Tarot the sheltie lost, he found his way back, the owners scent trailed and walked in an area. So do not give up hope. You will win in the end. Just a suggestion, can you go early morning just as it gets light. If you follow a path, you can sometime get a clue from the tree or bush line, if you see the birds taking off, that has happened a few times and he presto a little stray is just waking!!!! the vey best of luck. Take some nice smelly sardines with you, incase you sopt your baby!! and your bottle. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Visited Leigh cats and dogs home as well as Animals in Need in Melling, no sign. Tramped round with Jan last night from 10pm to 12.30 round the roads and station but no sign. Hard to find a decent area to set up a nest for him, though did scent around the area(thats when my nan isn't washing it, filling it with water and popping it in the fridge!). Spoke to Roby Station and they won't let me watch the CCTV due to DPA. Did speak to signal guard to look out for him and will watch out for him! Rang the railtrack network number as they deal with the track maintenance, still waiting for call back. Really need to explore the railway line but going away on Friday so running out of time. Tramping about with Jan tonight.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met up again with Mitch last night at 10.00 p.m. Walked around the area for an hour and sat on train station platform for an hour. No luck he did not emerge. Bit difficult where to leave items as the possible undergrowth he may go to is near the tracks and behind wire fences that only Kobe can get to. Suggested to Mitch this morning to ask one of the houses nearby if something could be left in the front garden (big houses). Another possibility is a field which looks like it belongs to boarding kennels, but the gate is shut of a night. Mitch is going to follow these up today. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did say to Mitch this morning we should have camped out last night. May go and sit on the station platform late tonight when it is quiet. Field to the old Plessey does not have access and have to climb over a wall. This morning put Tillie (my BC over) then could not climb over myself, had nothing to step on, poor Tillie thought I had abandoned her, good job she could jump back after a bit of persuasion. The other possible field where it is safer away from the Railway station has a gate which is locked during the evening but a dog could get under. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch has been scenting the area, we looked at areas to target with items of clothing. Area around station is a lot quieter than some parts of Huyton and more what he is used to. Left Mitch about 9.00 a.m. this morning and I waited in the road by station entrance until 10.00 a.m. just in case he surfaced. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went out late last night and scented round by Roby station and also by some garages. Going to leaflet round Pilch Lane east, Merton Crescent, Merton Close and Wentworth Grove. Also will try some dog homes today with husband and kids. Tramped round since 6am round the Plessy field, roby station, golf course and playing fields by the Church. The breed is not yet recognised in the UK and Kobe's predigree has been registered out of the country. He could be mistaken for a Sheltie cross. Angelita mentioned in an earlier post he may be recorded as a Spitz or Finnish Lapphund. Mitch has been scenting the area just waiting for that lucky break when she can actually see him herself. Searched area this morning with owners. Old Plessey building has been demolished and builders are on the land. Plenty of hiding places for Kobe to lie low. Met the owner of the land and handed leaflets also to builders. Posted flyers in houses along Roby Road and roads off it. Left poster in Huyton Leisure, local pubs and Golf Course. Postered area and handed flyers to people. There have been a few sighting of Kobe late evening and early morning. Owners have been going out at these particular times of the day. Can put the other rumour to rest. Message left last night that A woman who lives on Roby Rd saw him on Wednesday night at the back of her garden, backing onto railway tracks. She thought it was a fox however saw picture of Kobe in echo and realised it was Kobe. She lives by where the old Plessey Club was. No number left so can't ring back. He seems to be staying round by green areas and the railway track at Roby. I'm wondering if he is using the railway tracks to move around due to the sightings. I've put flyers down, Church Rd, Twig Lane, Hawthorne Rd, Forest Drive, Stanhope Dr. Fresh hope TODAY its just a question of spotting him and catching him. He'll go to me so not sure about anyone else. Going to knock and flyleaflet down Roby today and find out where this Plessey Club was. Just a matter of time. I've got loads of flyers and leafets so if anyone wants to meet give us a shout!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SPoke to Dog Warden who won't look at place last seen, but suggested phoning vets and keeping on top of dogs homes especially as she has heard that some try to reregister some pedigrees? Put flyers through doors along Hawthorne Rd, bottom of Church Rd, and Twig Lane, Dinas Lane. Had phone call last night over tip off that someone close by had Kobe and that they have shaved him, been seen along Adswood Rd and in Huyton Village. Last 24hrs have been nightmare as not tooo sure of this tip off, still looking into it at moment. Kobe again in the Merseymart this week and in tonights echo. Had phonecall that had been seen in Broadway about 4pm so shot over there but couldn't see and they would not leave number for contact. Left message for Dog warden will ring again this morning. Spent most of yesterday around Church Rd and started putting flyers down Hawthorne Road. Spoke to people who had seen him the day he went missing nut nothing since. Postered with husband around area again as many have been ripped off. Got call from Tony who walks his dog round there, didn't realise Kobe was still missing thus only just phoned. Saw Kobe by Roby Station late Saturday 21st afternoon. Popped his head into the kennels at the top of the road. seemed okay and came back out, heading down Church Road. He will keep a look out and phone me if he sees him again. Postered around Twig Lane again, and Arnside Road behind Roby Church as large field there, also spoke to dog walkers. Looked at RSPCA in Halewood and went to Freshfields. Thank you vetnurse for your reassurances as was worried when they wouldn't let us view again. Have spoken to dog warders today but no sign and also to petlog. Have heard they can do a satelite chip but apparently not yet, this would be a major plus for the future being able to sat nav our dogs! Put posters up in Hammond Pet store and did Petcley & Assoc Vets on L'pool Rd in Maghull as well as the groomers. No more phone calls on sightings. Not sure to put out doglost posters with details he is chipped as relying on them taking him to a vets at some stage. What do you think? Still using own posters at moment until I make up my mind. Going round more vets tomorrow and getting more posters.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch please be assured that freshfields are totally honest, if kobe was there they would have told you, and you now would have him back. they are full at the mo, as everyone has been dumping staffies due to the mass hysteria on merseyside recently. they don't let people look down the kennels as they have had their own problems in the past. however if you do have regular sightings of kobe in a certain area and you think a dog trap might help i am sure they will be willing to oblige. keep checking IN PERSON leigh cats and dogs. good luck finding kobe will put up poster in my vets and get down to help look next weekend xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mitch - don't give details of your dog when people call - it's down to them to prove to you that they have your dog, not down to you to prove they do - if they are genuinely trying to reunite you both, they'll do anything to ID him and so will provide you with details - remember they can quite easily take him to a vet to be scanned and would find his name at that point so wouldn't need to know his name as they'd already have it... and they can easily get a photo on a mobile etc across to you these days. It could've been a hoax if at silly o'clock when the lads come out of pubs & clubs but you just don't know... if they have him though be sure they'll call back. Keep getting the posters up!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone asked if the station CCTV can be checked? There should be cameras outside the station and that would give a lead as to which way Kobe went - or if he went on a train with a passenger (not unheard of!) then it might be worth postering the stations up and down the line.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The postmen start about 5.00am but most are very helpfull. Just in case someone has rescued him and they havn't seen posters. If he's collapsed in an elderly persons garden they may have just taken pity and taken him in not knowing he is being searched for. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just contacted Network Rail 08457-114141 they have taken details and it will be passed onto relevant area office for Roby Station line and ring you back, but it would not be until Monday. If a dog was found they would check for a chip. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Done visual again this morning and found all posters around Twig Lane and Church Rd all gone, put them back up and spoken to early morning dog walkers. Phoned dog ambulance taxi number and left details with them, as they liase with the police and RSPCA, no pick ups of his discription. Chris from Eaton Rd police station phoned in follow up to my report last Sunday. She is going to email police stations with follow up and she lives around Archways Rd so will keep a look out and certainly pull up any owners with dogs fitting Kobes discription. Trying to get posters and hand outs printed out so can get them around tomorrow. I'm praying for his return. Still in Huyton haven't returned home yet as can't bare to leave area knowing he's out there. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Postered around Roby Road this morning and Huyton Lane, also harrassed all postmen I met as well and police. Put posters in Prescot and Huyton sorting offices as well. Posters also located in PDSA shop in Huyton village, the shopping mall and also the pet shop in there. Visited 2 vetinary clinics in Woolton with posters and they also check for chips. Visited Dogs Trust again with a poster in Whiston Lane and also the RSPCA in Halewood (gave them poster yesterday). Very impressed with Leigh Cats and Dogs Home, very professional, did visual check and left poster. Finally found Freshfields but they did not let me look they have a poster but spoke to kennel block who have said they are full and have had no dogs recently as no space. Not too sure about these at moment, friends are going to do a visual tomorrow. Spoke to Caroline at Animals in Need in Melling and she says they have overspill from RSPCA but have had nothing recently, they also check for chips. Tomorrow I'm going to visit more vets around and pet shops also will try to visit Manchester cat and dog home. Will be out later doing visual search around huyton again. Once again thanks for help and ideas.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kobe was staying at my nan's on Alt Lane. Got out when nan opened door, is familar with nans as we visit weekly with children from Shropshire. He ran over to salerno drive about 11am on Saturday. next was seen on Rupert Road between 12 and 1pm up Hawthorn close, where he was chased by a man in his garden, he ran down an alley way which leads to Church Road, Roby. Neighbours have seen him running down this road. Have had phonecalls off the posters confirming he has been seen along Rupert Road outside Roby College at this time. Last confirmed sighting 3pm crossing Archways Road and he could hardly walk. Caller left message but no number so cannot confirm whereabouts on road. Have done wild goosechasers yesterday to the Dingle and Netherton. Last night we've put up more posters in Huyton village, Roby Road, Tarbuck Road. Been out at 6am looking like every morning, will be going around more vets today and shelters. Kobe is my baby, he has only bonded with me in 5 years and pines when I'm not around. He is a bit bigger than a sheltie with a profuse black coat and prominant white mask face typical of the husky face. I live in Shropshire but will be staying in Huyton for as long as possible. Have limited internet access but thank you all for your help and I'm praying for his return.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie (visit sorting office), milkmen, binmen, schools, pubs, dog training clubs and deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Check Police stations and Dog Warden. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Kobe. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
