Hi Michelle, I've messaged a couple of times on Facebook (I don't have the owners details but the lady that saw the dog and posted). I know its awful poor pooch, its possible the owners did go back to try and catch her (they may have caught her and we don't know about it?) I haven't seen any posters up or anything have you? I've not heard of any more sightings. At least its not been cold these past few nights if shes still out there. Fingers crossed we hear more soon x

Dottiesmum is there any way of finding out if was the person from Facebooks dog, can't bear to think he/she might still be out there with no one looking for him/her :(

Just a thought, there is another posting for this dog ID92464 which has a phone no. don't know if it's somebody that is monitoring this page. Thanks for keeping your eyes open for this pooch.
dottiesmum
Thank you for looking Michelle, no more sightings that I'm aware of x

Have there been anymore sightings?

Just back from walking around Nightingale Lane and London Rod cemetery - unfortunately saw nothing

Saluki cross whippet or greyhound is my guess, but that will be apparent when she/he is safely caught, hopefully soon !

I'm not clever on this machine but she looks lurcherish from the photo. Sounds like the lady in contact with owners would be a good ally. It's good she has stayed in an area, helps if you can find out what times of day she is being sighted. Unless you "trawl" round these sites people that lose their dogs are unaware of what help there is available. Shelagh who posted 3/10 is relentless in her efforts to reunite dogs with owners as are other people on here. I'm really just "queen of the postcodes", self appointed title. All cogs in a wheel.
dottiesmum
Me n my girl she could be a large whippet I suppose? x
dottiesmum
Thank you everyone, I'll try and find her today or find out if she's been spotted in the area. I've not had contact with the owners as it was the lady on fb who was in contact with them. I'll keep you all posted, thank you for all the advice and offers of help x
JulieH
Good luck to all involved in securing this dog.Stay safe lovely lurcher x

Hi dottiesmum. It might be worth checking the cemetery as a lot like them as a base. Also it is great she took treats you put down so she associates you with food. You will need high value food to catch her. Some cooked hot meat is best if not you can you canned hot dogs but you will need a lot and best to have a variety of different foods. I know you haven't seen her regularly but it would be great if you carry with you . If you can her sit down with your body side on to her, throw food in an arc starting close to where she is and going to the side of you. Then you wait. It can take a good few hours and she may run off ,but she will come back, she will be watching you.. Once she start to eat food she should follow trail and be to the side of you. Throw more food closer to you but do not look at her or speak. Wait until she is close to you and raise head slightly to get a sneaky look. Try feeding her by hand. A large piece of meat will be required. If not just wait ,putting food around you until she close enough to hold collar or put slip lead on.

Dottiesmum is there any more news from the owners?

What can we do to help?

Perhaps the people that lost her chased her when they saw her, but I doubt if they would have had chance to bond with her. I've never been involved in capturing a lost dog, traps have to be manned 24/7. sometimes a regular visit at regular times with food helps. If the losers register her as lost on here (free) I think they'll get sent info to help them catch her. If she came from a rescue she may have formed an attachment to someone at the kennels, or even previous owners may help. Do you think she's a lurcher she certainly looks like some sort of sighthound to me.Last edited: 2015-10-03 19:54:33 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Dottiesmum thanks for the info I am glad someone is concerned for her .I dare not say anymore .Hope she caught soon x
dottiesmum
Thanks everyone. Me n my girl I'm waiting to hear back from the fb lady to see if anythings happened. Someone contacted her last night via facebook and said it was their dog, they lost her the day they got her 3 weeks ago. They came but the dog ran away, it doesn't know them well. I'm not sure if the people in the apartment block have set up a feeding station but I'll try and find out. Definately think a trap will be the only way to catch her though. What's the best thing to do in terms of catching her?

Shared. To get help. Hope this girl/boy is caught soon and brought to safety x

Are we sure this is a Lurcher and not a very thin dog of some other breed. Its been out there quite a while

Has a feeding station been set up so that a trap can then be placed?

I'm fairly local if you need help looking.

If you add "help needed" to "sighted" some other people might come forward to help. X

Dog warden won't come unless it's been caught, I'll email admin for advice on catching her x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Has dog warden been contacted? Sounds as if dog is staying local, could it be a local farm dog that's allowed to wander or one off a local traveller site. Be good if it could be caught before it's involved in an accident. If anyone is interested in catching dog I'm sure admin would send info regarding this. Thanks for updates.

Spotted near Highfield Park this evening, a lady has posted on fb. I've added the photo she took as you can see the dog more clearly x

Dotties Mum best if you send phone no. to Doglost as phone is manned (or ladied ) all the time X I'm not local and have mobility probs so can't help you but think there is a good Dog Warden in some AL areas but due to age can't remember which one.( bad memory too)
dottiesmum
Thank you, changed the number to doglost number and I'll email you mine. I'll try and find the dog today and get a better picture if I can't catch it x

Don't know if these dogs are too light in colour, Suki ID 82645 from RM4 22miles away or Larkspur ID 88909 from SM6 28miles away, both wearing leather collars and both Saluki crosses and have fuller tails (not greyhound whippy type). A414 road runs fairly close to where Suki went missing from. Dotties Mum there isn't a contactable phone no. I think you can leave yours with Admin and add Doglost one, if that makes sense. Thanks for posting this lost soul X
