- Other Info Found around midday, very wet but happyish. I took him to the local vets who passed him on to the dog warden, 01843 577000. I was on my way to a meeting and it was pouring down so I didn't have time to check for distinguishing marks. He was wearing a collar but no tag. If he is claimed from the dog warden I would like to know that he is safe and sound at home so please contact me on the mobile phone number

- I've had an email from the dog warden - "I fear it is very unlikely that this dog will be claimed as due to its breed and the condition it is likely a that has been used for Hare coursing which is an illegal pastime of the travelling community, we have a lot of problems in the Birchington/St Nicholas areas at this time of year and these dogs rarely get reported missing as the people responsible know they could face prosecution, the dog in question has been kept in our care overnight and will be transported to our contract kennels later today, if the dog is unclaimed after seven days it will go up for re-homing"

Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
