So pleased Cuckoo has been reunited with Anna. I have had many a sleepless night wondering where the little girl was and hoping she was safe. I bet if she could talk she would have an interesting tale to tell!
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Yay.. fantastic news, am so so pleased she has been found, was so worried about her...
Am sure she is going to be spoilt rotten ! x

Just the best news:-) There have been so many people that have cared enough to help search, share & support Anna and family for the past few days - it really does restore my faith in people. Hopefully little Cuckoo can enjoy her new home now with the care and love that she deserves. Well done everyone - brilliant result .

Thank you Very much everyone who has helped us. We are delighted to Have Cuckoo back. She is a bit stinky and very thin.. But safe and sound. She was eventually caught in a Fox trap in Burwash would you believe!! Off to the vet now.... Thanks Again
Anna xx

I had just been chatting to Zoe when I got a call back from her to say that Anna has got Cuckoo!!
She will no doubt, update the page when she has the chance with all the details, but basically she was caught in the trap that had been set.
I can't thank those people enough for their help. You have been brilliant and thanks to you Cuckoo is now safely home with her family.
So glad this has been a happy ending!
Special thanks to our Doglost volunteers Zoe and TK for your invaluable help.
Thanks once again to all who have commmented, helped, searched, postered and supported Anna whilst she has been looking for Cuckoo.
That's what Doglost is about.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks TK, Zoe and Anna for the updates. Again, well done searching and postering for Cuckoo.
Brilliant to hear that Cuckoo is being seen again.
Anna: Hopefully you have managed to get even more posters up in the area too so that others are aware that she is around.

I believe the area of Spring Lane where she was sighted first is near to the Rose and Crown pub and in the fields and woods close by.
As Zoe says it is very important that if she is seen she should not be scared off by too many people.
So I respectfully ask that if you see Cuckoo you call Anna straight away and then she can let Zoe and myself know so that we can go and help if needed. If you can try and watch Cuckoo to see exactly where she goes to and if possible drop some food in the place seen then that should help to keep her there until Anna or one of us arrives.
Having said that .. special thanks to the lady in Spring Lane who left her stables open with food to attract Cuckoo.

Again, thank you to all the other people who have given information, commented on this page and who are supporting Anna in her search. We can't find dogs without people like you! Last edited: 2015-08-22 10:46:55 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

TK - that is fantastic.....thank you so much. I think the postering will be invaluable. Let's hope there is a sighting today, it would be great if she stayed in the area. There are some fantastic people offering to help.....I think we are all willing Cuckoo to be caught now, but still important that the area is not flooded with people so she is not scared away.
Anna
Hi One and all thank you sooo much for all your help and support... it is definitely the right dog as the gentleman who saw her yesterday described her so well. She let his sons stroke her and the said she had a red collar with a bone shaped tag on it. No further sightings today, but he did say she looked thin and has obviously slowed down. Hopefully she is still in the area. The food has been spead further and the fox trap still out. Fingers crossed. Just need some more news.... Thank you all again you are all amazing x
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
"I saw a terrier yesterday in the field behind our house, tried to encourage it over to us but seemed very timid. We are also in spring lane and it wasn't close enough to see a collar"
I have just been accepted onto Burwash fb page, there is already a post about Cuckoo, someone has responded yesterday eve with the above comment .. x

Have been thinking of Cuckoo and so worried fod her. This evening we had a drive up the A21, through Etchingham, postered Etchingham Station Car Park, Post Office notice board & outside Etchingham Club on main road...
Carried on into Burwash, postered 3 in the Car Park by the Bear Pub, Bottom of Spring Lane on main rd, main rd by turning to Batemans...
Gave a poster to the nice chap in the BP garage and spoke to him about recent sighting nearby in Spring Lane, he was very kind and said he would spread the word..
Drove down Spring Lane & put up a few posters along the lane, as we got nearly to the end of Spring Lane we saw something in a field, stopped car, but it turned out to be a cat, whilst there met a lovely lady who lived there, gave her a poster and she said she would keep eyes open..she was just heading out gor a night horse ride around the area....
She also suggested posting on Burwash village fb page, which I will try and do now... she seemed to know alot if people so hopefully she will help spread the word ..
Put a poster up by Pont Farm on Rd towards Heathfield, the chap who lives there also rides all around the local area..
Drove back down Spring Lane, back thro Burwash, Etchingham, Hurst Green, down A21 up thro into Battle & home..
So so hope there is another sighting, some good news very soon, stay safe little Cuckoo.. x
kjane85
Just a thought...when we were looking for Jimmy the Yorkie in nearby Broad Oak earlier this year we wasted time because we were told he was sighted in a different area but he ended up being found not far from where he ran off weeks later. It is a long way from Bewl to Burwash not impossible but she is only little....does owner still go to reservoir just in case and are there posters there. Fingers and paws crossed in this house for Cuckoo's adventure to be over soon. 🐶
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I have walked some of the area again is afternoon. I picked up the footpath from the bottome of Witherendem Hill and headed across the fields to Franchise Manor. Unfortunately, there were no obvious footpath signs once I got there so had to turn round and retrace my steps:-( I also had a drive along Spring Lane - again, nothing to report I'm afraid:-( I think we need to get some posters up in the area to raise awareness. I've got quite a busy weekend but am happy to give ideas. We just need another sighting so we know which way she's heading.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I went out at 6.30 this morning - walked as much of Spring Lane (from the Stonegate end) as I could but I only had an hour before work so didn't do as much as I wanted. No sign but I did bump into a guy who I see walking to the station every day so I left Annas number with him as he is probably more like to see Cuckoo than anyone. I will liase with Anna today but could stop on my way home if there is any sightings. Lets hope today is the day that she is found. xx
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks Jen and Zoe.
Yes, I'm surprised too and all I can think of is that she has had a bad scare from something and just run and run. However, from the description of her collar Anna does believe it was her.
I'm also working tomorrow and not too easy to get away but if you need help Anna please ring me as I may be able to get to you.
Hopefully Anna will give us an update and let us know exactly what she was told tomorrow.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I'm sorry, but we've had friends for dinner tonight. Just seen the latest sighting. I drive past Spring Lane every day for work - will stop off there early doors tomorrow and walk Roxie there. I have to admit that I'm really surprised that she's made it this far over but am so glad there's been another sighting and will definitely follow up tomorrow. Anna - I live in heathfield so this is obviously a lot closer for me - if you get a sighting and I can get there then please just give me a ring....not that easy during working hours but would do my best any other time. Fingers crossed that the chap can set up a trap for her. X
Jen
Goodness that little girl is doing some running!I know when I spoke with Anna she had only recently re-homed Cuckoo. Do we know where she lived before and is there a chance she may be trying to head back there? I will be in the Stonegate area tomorrow morning so available if you need someone to give a hand should she be sighted again. Let's hope the trap works tonight though.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks Alison. That should cover us if Cuckoo is still running.

Just had a call to say that someone has seen Cuckoo in Spring Lane, Burwash this evening. Definitely sounds like her as had red collar and looked rather thin. I think they said that she was caught but got away again. However, this person has a fox trap which they will bait with smelly food and hope that Cuckoo will go to.

So Cuckoo is definitely not doing what I expected! Maybe something frightened her and she ran scared again. It's only about 7 mls away to Burwash though and no posters in the area so I have suggested getting some up as soon as poss. If she started running again after getting away then she could go anywhere.
Zoe .. that's even nearer to you! Also nearer to areas that I know so if she is not caught in the trap tonight then I will have a drive around places like Etchingham and Brightling in case she keeps on running.
Let's hope she stops and holes up instead.

Admin: Would you send email alerts out to TN19, TN20, TN21 and TN32 please?

Anna
Absolutely amazingly there has just been a sighting of Cuckoo in Spring lane in Burwash!!!! She was in a kind gentlemans garden, looking thin and skittish apparently. He has been incredibly kind and is setting a fox humane trap with some food in and around the area tonight so fingers crossed
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for the updates Anna and so good to hear of another sighting. Looking at the map it seems as though Cuckoo may be moving in a sort of circle now. So from Bewl, into Wadhurst, Cousley Wood, Osmers Hill and hopefully heading back around again! If we try to predict her next move I think she is likely to either go back to Wadhurst or Bewl. Well worth refreshing the bedding/scent articles you have previously left in a couple of places as Cuckoo may find them this time around.
She may even go back along the Sussex Border path which we thought she used when going into the garden she visited when she was first lost so perhaps the kind owners there would let you leave something there too.

The posters you have put up are definitely working .. well done for getting so many up!
I think you are all doing a brilliant job and although Cuckoo has not been found yet at least you know roughly where she is. If she does what we expect her to then she should stay in the 'circle' that she seems to be travelling in.
Jen: Thanks so much for searching for Cuckoo.
Zoe: Many thanks to you also for all your help and support to Anna.
I agree that it is very frustrating not seeing her and I think she will be quite hard to catch .. it will be a case of softly, softly and following the Doglost advice for catching her.
Thankfully I know Zoe is an expert at this! You did great when you caught Ruby aka Woody the Boxer!

I think that if anyone sees Cuckoo on their walks or whilst searching that it would be best to call Anna please. If Anna goes to the sighting them she can also call Zoe to see if she is around to help her or myself.
Thanks again to one and all who are following the search for this little girlie. Your support makes all the difference.
Come on Cuckoo .. time to give up and let yourself be caught pretty please!
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Thanks so much Jen. Just raising awareness of Cuckoo is a great help - we know she's lurking not very far away which is the most frustrating thing:-( Everyone is doing an amazing job with searching and postering. X
Jen
I drove down Balaclava lane today right through to Three Oaks lane and onto the station. I then went back up the hill towards Wadhurst and turned left into Jonas Drive and drove around all the estate roads and then followed the road back down again to Three Oaks and out to the station. For good measure I went up Faircrouch Lane, into Fairglen Road and back down Mayfield Lane. I then parked in Wadhurst and walked my two dogs including my Border Terrier visiting shops and speaking with people asking everyone if they had seen Cuckoo or to keep an eye out for her. I then came up the lane from opposite the Greyhound Pub coming out at Pell opposite Balaclava Lane. Sadly no sighting, but did see lots of posters, so well done for getting so many out. So wish I could report better news.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Brilliant news Anna - Balaclava Lane was one of the lanes I drove down on Monday....so wish I'd got at least a glimpse of her but great to know that she's still moving around and ok. x
Anna
I have a New sighting of her Monday afternoon in a garden in Osmers Hill, which is heading back towards Bewl, off Balaclava Lane. .... so that's good news. And she still had her little red collar on............more good news
Anna
Just an update About little Cuckoo, no sightings today. Or yesterday, any news would be great. We have been around the Sparrows Green Area, Recreation Ground.Tennis Club and allotments near Western Road.Re walked and scented the Bewl Bridge Lane walk back to Bewl Fishing lodge and put more Posters/Fliers around the Station, Old Station Road and Three Oaks Lane. Web Story on the The Courier website. Just come back now little dog.....please
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Thanks for the update Anna - I didn't get quite that far over:-( Looking at the map, I drove as far as the lane that joins up with Neills Lane. I'm glad she is staying the lanes side of the main road though. I really wish I could help you this week but I'm back at work for the rest of the week. I walked with a friend this morning who drives through Cousley Wood every day so have asked her to look out. TK - thank you for having a drive out yesterday. x PS Meant to ask were you actually parked at Bewlbridge Lane on the day she went missing?Last edited: 2015-08-18 09:36:06 by Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Anna
New information, transcript of conversation of latest sighting ....Hi we saw a dog that looked like her chasing a rabbit at great speed along a lane between Wadhurst and Hook Green about 9 am Sunday morning. It was going too fast to get a good look though but we couldn't tell where it had come from. I asked for a location.....I think it was Neills Road and the dog was heading from the Furnace Lane end towards the junction with Hog Hole Lane. Hope you find her! ................So still the same sort of area
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Well done and many thanks Zoe and TK.
Thanks Nina and yes, scenting and other advice was sent out when Cuckoo was first lost. We were hoping that she would go back to the place she was lost but Bewl is very busy with people now it's the holidays so that may have put her off.
Anna you are doing everything right and I think the lack of new info is most likely due to Cuckoo hiding herself when she thinks people are near her, although I may be wrong.
It does sound as if she is around/going back to the Cousley Wood area but could also be trying to make her way back to Bewl. Either way it's good that she seems to be staying in this sort of area.
Just keep doing what you are doing as far as posters and searching. Would probably be a good idea to do fresh scent trails .. maybe one leading to somewhere in Cousley woods where you could leave a box with your scent items (unwashed socks, tshirts etc) for her to settle in if she finds it. Nothing wrong in having something there as well as the place in Bewl. However, it's very important to check both places to see if you think she has been there.
If anyone spots Cuckoo it's going to be a slow process to catch her. However, she will probably be hungry by now so that may help. Think if she is seen the sardines should come out!
I've got quite a busy week working with the horses but will try to get out to have a nose around the area of the sighting if I can.
Best of luck everyone.
Come on Cuckoo .. time you showed yourself so you can go home.
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
I had a drive up through Ticehurst, into Wadhurst, down by station and back up through Wadhurst, we did see posters in Celia Hammond shop window..
Looking at map we were prob too far south, but did keep eyes open just in case we spotted her... x
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I have just got in - no sign unfortunately:-( I drove round all the lanes between Durgates, the station, and Bewl Bridge Lane which was where she originally went missing from. I did see a lady out walking, so stopped and gave her a black and white poster, but she was aware as I think one of her friends had shared on Facebook, and she'd seen posters both in one of the lanes and a shop in wadhurst, so well done for postering. I am back at work for the rest of the week and have commitments after work as well but am hoping that there is another sighting today for others to work on. X
Anna
We are basing where we look from the Most recent sightings. Sort of around three Oaks lane and Old Station Road (Which is a continuation of Three Oaks Lane) The gentleman who saw her there thougth she was headed back in the Cousley Wood Area
Anna x
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
If I come up in a while and have a look aroind, where is the best place to be looking ..? x
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
She could be following her scent back to where she was lost from, Jenny has been away, not sure if she is back yet , would be lovely if she could come and track x
DogLostSpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
I wonder if she is following her scent back to where she started if she is heading back to cousley wood?
alikat
Could it be time to bring in Jenny & Tiga (http://www.k9tracker.co.uk/)? I am sure Jenny would have some useful advice even if she can't actually get there.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I'm planning on going up there again for a couple of hours at lunchtime. It seems she was spotted exactly where I was walking on Saturday, pretty much at the time I was there, gutted I didn't catch sight of her:-(
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Am so sorry to hear Cuckoo is still missing, I live in Hastings, so not familiar with area she is lost in, but if I can do anything to help I am free tomorrow.. stay safe little one x
Anna
We have doe a bit of scenting when she was near bewl and you could try to lead her somewhere safe. Now she seems to be in a bit of a wider area, I don't really know where to start with it. Thank you for the suggestion Nina
There was a sighting of her yesterday Late morning about 11am running past his garden.... He lives on Old Station road Wadhurst which is a continuation of Three Oaks Lane. He said she was going back into countryside. Away from the Station and Back towards Cousley wood. So it looks like she hasn't changed area too much. Although despite searching, postering and Flyering the area there have been no other sightings reported today. Please share, and keep me posted if you see anything.................Thank you
DogLostNina
I haven't scrolled down to read all the posts but was wondering if anyone has advised you to use the scenting method of getting this dog home.
Unknown
Good Luck Anna praying she gets home real soon xx
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Brilliant news and I'm hoping she stays in the area so you are able to catch her. This may be a long, slow process so please be patient and remember to read the Doglost advice re catching your scared dog.
Best of luck Anna.
Anna
She was seen this morning by Wadhurst Station:: I Think Its Quite important to say that if you do see her. the best thing you could do is to lure her into somewhere secure with food and call me. Don't call to her or make eye contact. She is apparently bolting away form people. As I say she is incredibly timid. Posters Everywhere we can think of.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I've just got back. Sadly no sign of Cuckoo but did meet several dog walkers on my travels who I gave posters to and asked them to keep an eye open for her on their walks. I did a drive down Faircrouch Lane, Three Oaks Lane from the station end and then drove up to Jonas Lane and parked up there. I headed off on foot back along Three Oaks Lane, and did a circuit, some on road and some off road - I think the way forward is postering the area as it is really quite rural in that area and so many places for Cuckoo to hide. Great that there was another sighting....it means that word is getting around. I can spare a couple of hours on Monday if someone can print some poster for me to out up. X
Anna
A gentleman has just called to say the He Saw Cuckoo last night, after the sighting in Tree Oaks Lane, back up towards Cousley Wood in His Garden. He is By Sprarrows Green, Just before Turners Green Road............
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks so much for helping Zoe. Good to see even more sightings of Cuckoo although she seems to have gone away from Bewl now.
Anna: I suggest as many posters as poss in the area of the sightings and all over Wadhurst now. There are quite a few shops there that I am sure would be happy to display them in their windows and I would also put a large one at the station. I have advised Anna that it would be wise to alert Network Rail.
Best of luck with the search tomorrow.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Sorry for the late reply - we've been out for the evening. I may give you a ring in the morning when I get to wadhurst to see where you want me to focus on (although will check on here before I leave). Great that there's been a sighting - I know that area relatively well, it's just deciding what the next plan of action should be! I'm really sorry, but I don't have any posters to display, but I did print a couple at work just so I had your number and to give to anyone I bumped into. X
Anna
Some more Wadhurst info! Cuckoo Was seen on Three Oaks Lane, not going Woods Green way . So maybe the lane that goes towards the tennis club in Sparrows Green and links up with South View Road possibly. Daughter didn't get clear view of dog so I drove all around there as soon as my daughter got home (about 7ish) to try and see dog so if it was yours we could try to contact you but I didn't see any sign. Dog could have gone back down the steep hill that my daughter came up (that links to Three Oaks Lane) and then gone up Old Station Road which links with Jonas Drive hence sighting there
Anna
Right Todays Cuckoo Update.
After no sightings for 36 hours Cuckoo has been seen this evening Jonas Lane in the Durgate area of Wadhurst. That is Near the Petrol Station. She has previously been in Cousley wood So I don't know if she would head that way or towards the station. If any one can help I would be so grateful.
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
Sounds like there is quite a few people got their eye open for little Cuckoo. I will head over there in the morning - need to be home by 12.30 but I should get at least a couple of hours looking. X
Jules1
My mothers elderly dog wandered off and she used her own scent. The dog was sitting on the door step first thing in the morning after being missing for two nights. Don't give up hope. I walked that way yesterday and it was very quiet but no sightings. My husband cycles round Bewl early on a Saturday morning so will keep an eye out.
adamp
Hello I searched the cricket ground in cousley wood last night and a nearby footpath. Also searched all local lanes. Will head back towards bewl this evening
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Oh that's great that you have another sightings! I said to you that I thought Cuckoo would go back that way as she will follow her own scent back to where she went missing from. We know that dogs will do this and she will hopefully follow the scent trail that you have left.
If you are able to get over there at first light then she may even be waiting for you. Did you leave some bedding/unwashed clothes in a box or something close to the car park? If so she will have something familiar to settle down in and wait for you.
When it is busy at Bewl I think she is more likely to hide herself away.
Anyway, I know you are doing all you can and you should be able to find her very soon.
Best of luck! Last edited: 2015-08-13 21:29:28 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Hi Rufty, I have spoke with everyone I could find at the Fishing lodge and the Kids had a go on the rib which made their day!! They are devastated. The people there have been lovely and in fact it was their staff who sighted her last on Tuesday then went out with mules and rescue boats searching. However there are a few members of staff who work shifts so probably worth mentioning to anyone you see down there to keep them informed and on the look out Anna xx
Anna
Hi Zoe, She has been with us such a short time I don't really know. I think she has been around other dogs all her life and would be reassured by them as long as they are not too nosy or aggressive, but I don't think she would approach anyone. I don't know where the Old Vine pub is so Couldn't comment, but a few of us have been out with posters now so it is quite likey to have been done
Anna
I've just got back from searching with the kids. So a bit bonkers. She has been sighted down Bewlbridge Lane and Hook Hill Lane. Last sighting Yesterday evening at about 6pm which is positive she has gone back towards Bewl. Spoke to most residents on Bewlbridge lane I think who are all lovely. I also scent marked where I walked and left the car there for 3 hours. No Joy. We have a super busy work day tomorrow but will try to do the same tomorrow evening
DogLostZoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
I am really hoping Cuckoo has been found by Saturday, but if not, it is my intention to spend a couple of hours on Saturday morning in the cousley wood area - will tie in with walking Roxie. Will keep an eye on any sightings listed on here or Facebook and focus in those areas. Has anyone put a poster in the Old Vine pub? Anna - how is she with other dogs? Would she approach them or run away? X

Ana, I have been out around the area near where she was seen yesterday, both last night and this afternoon after it stopped raining... there is a lot of shelter around the cricket ground in Cousley Wood and it has many paths down to the round Bewl path. No sign unfortunately but there are a lot of rabbit and fox earths in that area .. if however the report yesterday is correct she has possibly crossed the B2100 away from the Bewl Estate towards Woods Green Last edited: 2015-08-13 19:12:21 by Rufty
Rufty
Fishing lodge is the management centre for the estate workers.. there is no sailing school.. the Outdoor centre( Kent LEA) is near the dam, the former BVSC is in liquidation and has no staff .. It is the small white building where the fishing boats are hired from at the Hook lane/ Ladymeads lane end..before the black sheds used by the Rowers Last edited: 2015-08-13 17:47:14 by Rufty
Anna
Where is the fishing lodge Rufty,,. Do you mean by the sailing school??
Anna
Thank you Everyone for all you are doing to help me. Cuckoo still hasn't been found, I am going back to Bewl this afternoon to walk back from the fishing area toward Bewl Bridge Lane and Cousley wood where see was seen. I will scent mark

Thanks for the update and the news of another sighting. That's good and maybe some more sightings by tomorrow.
I have done a fair amount of Tweeting tonight and if anyone else does Twitter then please retweet my ones. I'm Clarkey @mivvydog on there.
Got quite a lot of Retweets already so that's another way of getting the word around to people who do not use Fbk.
I'm hoping that Cuckoo will stay in the Bewl Water area as she will at least be able to find somewhere t stay dry out of the rain.
Thanks again to all who have been helping today and well done to Anna for doing all you are. Just keep at it! Best of luck for your search today :)

Anna are you on FaceBook? If so please ask to join Border Terriers Lost & Found - I so hope she's found soon.

Thank you ALl so Much for all your help. I can't tell you how touched we are. Apparently she has been spotted Last night in Bewl Bridge lane, and this morning in Pells Green, so she hadn't gone too far. She will be very frightened my number is 01580 831 845
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thank you twoDs and BattyB. So kind of you to help Anna.
I was told that they went for a walk, starting at the main car park at Bewl Water, they crossed the dam and whilst walking some cyclists came up behind them and Cuckoo got scared and ran off. I am hoping that Anna will update on here later so maybe she will be able to give a more precise area for you.
If the weather forecast is correct then it will be very wet tomorrow and if it is raining then I would suggest you do not search as Cuckoo is bound to hide up.
The time to search would be just after the rain stops as Cuckoo is likely to start moving around after that.
Thanks again to everyone for your help.

I have been over there for 1.5 hours this afternoon but had to leave for a doctors appointment. I am very happy to help put posters up and help with a search tomorrow if the poor girl is not found beforehand. I am in Ticehurst so can post this side of Bewl (Flimwell, Ticehurst, Wadhurst). sorry I cannot go out again this evening. can someone confirm where she was when she ran off in case she makes her way back there? fingers crossed you find her this evening - good luck!

I have shared in all the BT groups asking for help - can the photo be amended to say it's a similar dog as well? I just hope she can be caught soon.Which rescue is she from? They may have an actual photo of her?Last edited: 2015-08-12 17:40:33 by twoDs

Thanks for all your help Rufty. Great job to get all those posters out. That's really going to help and hopefully will bring in some more sightings of Cuckoo.
Rufty
Info that I have is that she might be north of the B2100 towards the vicinity of Woods Green or Newberry lane / Monks Lane . Anyone walking the woods or Sussex Border path in that area please keep looking.

Posters up around Cousley Wood and in Victoria Stores Lamberhurst (beaten to that by a gentleman from the garage?) Have searched in woods north of B2100 , also around village and visited both Nikwax depots who have a lot of staff and huge out buildings . Did not manage to go to the cafe at Beals Barn on Ladymeads Lane. Nor to the fishing lodge where the remaining rangers are based .. all worth repeat visits

IF anyone is able to help Anna please let her know.
Posters need to go up in the area please. I would suggest on all the roads bordering Bewl and in the area of Wadhurst and Cousley Wood please (near to where the sighting was)
Cuckoo is very scared and at the moment we have no idea which direction she is going in. Most dogs would head back to where they were lost, ir Bewl Water, but I'm not sure about this terrified girl. Let's hope she does as she has more chance of being found there and getting good shelter from the storms due.
Anna does not live in the area but in Bodiam so it would really help to get posters up for her.
We need to find this little girlie as bad weather is forecast to come in during the next 2 days.

Poor little soul. I have two BT's and know how I would feel if one of them went missing. Hope she is caught soon.

Cuckoo went missing in Bewl when scared by cyclists. Owners and helpers have searched all night but no luck.
Anna says seen in a garden of house between Wadhurst and Cousley Wood this morning. Not an area she knows and she legged it when they went out to see her ...had spent night in dry area of garden.
I have sent Doglost advice emails to Anna and spoken with her this morning. They went to the house but no sign of Cuckoo at the moment.

If anyone sees her please do NOT TRY TO CATCH her as she is very timid and will run. Please just watch her and ring owners who live some way away .. they will come over.
It is very important to try to keep her in the same place so that they can try to catch her. Thanks.

THANK YOU ADMIN. Photo of similar Border terrier is put on here as Anna does not have one. Last edited: 2015-08-12 12:34:18 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Shared to Border Terriers Lost & Found on FceBook but photo needed if possible - maybe her rescue has one if owner doesn't?

Any idea whereabouts at Bewl she went missing? Quite a large area. Will share as friends walk their dogs there.
