This is such a sad story. I have also been owned by members of this breed for many years, and wonder what happened to Hugo? Has there ever been any more news?
Florence's mum
I got directed to this page when I was googling Spinones just the other day and I thought Hugo had gone missing just last week. I now realise this was about 5 years ago! However, as mummy to a Spin called Florence and a lover of the breed, I wondered if lovely Hugo was ever found. Does anyone know?

Still in my thoughts Hugo, hope you are safe and well.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am still hoping to see Hugo again and will not give up on him. Thankyou Jacks for taking some posters to your daughters grooming parlour, the lady where I take Hugo to for his pamper day has put posters up and given them also to customers and often gets people coming in from the street to ask if he has been found. Thankyou also Ursie for taking posters to the champ show. Also thankyou again to everyone who has helped with posters and sending their best wishes. Lets all keep hoping. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Nik, I read the message from Ursie and I rang and spoke to several people at the Hull Daily Mail regarding further publicity and the only thing they could offer was to put another add in the lost column. If you need any info on Hugo ring anytime and thankyou for your help. Denise xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi, i dont wish to get your hopes up but i think i may have seen him, i was in the car and so could not stop so we turned around to go back but when we did we couldnt see the dog again. really sorry. it was only a quick glance we got of the dog, but he seemed a little darker than the one in the pic so might not be him. we spotted the dog at the top of north road (anlaby road end). Hugo's Mum: I have re-done Hugo's pic, because although people are a lot more aware of Spinone's since Crufts, I think that people will get a better idea of him from this. (I can change it back if necessary.)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I really hope you find Hugo soon. I also have a Spinone who is my pride & joy. Since the attention they recieved at Crufts I have had a lot more interest in her from strangers. I up in Scotland, but let me know if there is anyway I can help. Have you contacted the spinone clubs who maybe able to offer some support ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well done, Ursie, hopefully that'll bring some news. Persuade Look North to combine the two missing dog stories. It gives stronger emphasis to the issue.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have rung the Hull Daily Mail and given details about Hugo to them. Hopefully they will place something in tomorrows paper. Also going to contact Look North as I have seen that sadly a French Bulldog that is due to whelp has been stolen in same area and this is going to be on Look North, I am going to try and get some publicity about Hugo.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Hugo. Jan xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
