So very sorry to hear about Clover. My thoughts are with her family. Please take comfort that you have not lost Clover forever, as she will be in no more pain, and discomfort now. And when the time is right, she will be waiting for you at the bridge, amongst all the Angels. Now in the tender care of Jesus. She will always be with you in spirit, my friend sometimes sees his late dogs, playing happily in spirit. She will remain forever in your hearts. She knew how much she was loved by her family too. Dear All,

We would like to extend a very belated and heartfelt thank you to all the individuals and organisations who helped us in our search for Clover, our 15 year old golden retriever who went missing in July. People put up posters, and spread the word far and wide, in the South Hams. On facebook we had over 12,000+ (yes, really!) shares and hundreds of messages offering practical help, advice, empathy, sympathy, and even - in one case – an offer to add to the reward we had put up. We were really overwhelmed.

Sadly, we did find her - but not alive. She was in an almost inaccessible and very hidden place where, it appears, she chose to die.

We were overwhelmed with the response and generosity of everyone, and are only sorry that we cannot reply personally to each message we received. Thank you for them all. We also extend sincere thanks to the friends, neighbours, dogs and Kingsbridge Police who helped us search.

If you are still displaying a poster, please do take it down now, and my apologies that we cannot get around everywhere they appeared to do this ourselves…. Although we started by keeping a list, we soon lost count of how many people offered to display them!

We apologise that this email is much later than it should have been. Immediately following Clover’s disappearance I was ill and am only just recovering, so our summer has been somewhat chaotic and I am only now getting around to catching up with correspondence etc.

Thank you Goldenfrodo and jenny4. No, we have no news at all. We are overwhelmed by the number of followers and sharers - but no sightings, despite extensive searches of the area by ourselves, many good friends and their dogs. Yes, I have tried Margaret Green and other rehoming and rescue organisations in Devon too. I would be interested to hear how we might go about finding a tracker dog if you have more information on that. I will keep you all posted. Many thanks G xx
