We were searching the field opposite the Cemetry as his food kept going and someone had passed by and thought they'd seen him. Someone then called from prestwich to say that he'd turned up at their door. I don't know how he got there and we were in complete wrong area.

We took him to the vet as he is stuck thin. The vet isn't too worried but kept him in overnight to keep him on a drip and deal with a minor infection. He should be allowed home later.

Thanks to everyone for your massive help in searching and sharing. We really appreciate it.

Feel free to drop me a text if you want to come and meet him.

Found in Prestwich.

A small black cat wanders around the cemetery area, it could have been mistaken for Fritz at a distance.

oh my god that's great news! i'd been there again today with my nephew. so glad!! Celebratory drink for me I think!! Please can we have a full update of his turning up please? x
Bazwa1983
He's turned up in Prestwich believe it or not. Just at the vets with him. He's hungry and thirsty but seems ok. Will update later but thanks for everyone's efforts.

I would love to continue looking but my husband is away now until Sunday night. After the suspicious looking guy the other afternoon I don't want to go on my own. But, if there is anyone else going and I can join your search party, let me know. Text me on 07817 258484. I'm free afternoons and evenings and all weekend. ta, Liz x
Bazwa1983
Hi. Yeah that is the right area. Thanks. Opposite the Cemetry entrance is a big gate where you can see a lot of the fields. He was last seen amongst the fields to the left of that gate where there are two ponds.
elspethjones
Last night we searched the field opposite the cemetery to the south of Philips Park Road, long grassy field which backs onto motorway. We walked up Old Hall Lane, past the cemetery Building and the farm house with the chained up guard dog and then back to where we parked at the big iron gates with the bollards on Philips Park Road West. Hope this is the right area to search x
maxine
great idea elspethjones

Not sure if you remember the guy in the lakes who found the Collie after it being missing up Scarfell Pike, be he went to where the dog was last seen and sat down with open packets of ham and cheese and wafted them around. The dog smelt them, approached and he was finally found. Worth a try, especially with him knowing your voices too?! x
elspethjones
Hope you don't mind but I have sent posters to Clarks Hill Kennels and also to Carters Hill Farm which owns the land where Fritz has been seen, I google earthed it, got address and sent posters yesterday so they should receive them today by Royal Mail. Might try looking again tonight but taking the hubby with me for safety!! x
Bazwa1983
Thanks to everyone for all your effort. We're very lucky. We've put posters up today all up Old Hall Lane which comes out on Ringley Road. We've also been searching the fields opposite the Cemetry and put his bedding there near some ponds where he was last seen. Jen will print more posters tomorrow and post them at nearby houses. Sorry if anyone encountered a weirdo. It wasn't me! Where he was seen on Sunday is very close to where he was previously seen on Thursday so we're hoping he's still knocking round. Thanks again.

Been in Park today with our 2 dogs and received a flyer from a lady near playground. Didn't see anything unfortunatly but will keep our eyes peeled .
I've also shared on my Facebook. Really hope you find the little guy soon . X Jay x

I've been back to Philips Park Road at 4pm, walked some of the way down, then turned back (weird guy there). Checked the spare rugby pitch, into the park, immediate right behind the gate house. Over the bridge then immediate left and followed the path to the end of the livestock field. I went into field and walked back and ended up at entrance to car park and play park. Then walked back to the road. Looking on google earth, there are a lot of houses i.e. Parkstone Drive etc which back onto the fields where the jewish cemetery is. I think these houses could do with posters putting through each door, as they have a fab view of the fields, maybe they can look out once notified. I suppose a lot of people won't notice the posters on lampposts etc unless they are walking in the area. I think the waste ground between Philips Park Rd East and the motorway could do with checking, but preferably people in pairs, its a bit eerie! x
elspethjones
If you haven't already done so contact Clarks Hill Kennels, they are in that area and own a lot of the fields there. Also take flyers to all the stables on both sides of Ringley Road. They are out riding all the time and would have better access to the fields that general public do x
Jane Doherty
Fingers crossed, have shared on FB as I'm originally from Whitefield. Probably already done this, but get loads of your dirty clothes and put them in the areas he's been sighted with some dog food and if he has dog blankets etc put those out too. I'll keep sharing where I can. Good luck x
maxine
fingers crossed for more good news

Hi. I have had an update from a walker who saw Fritz on Sunday morning. There is a cobbled area on Philips Park Rd West with some fields and a Jewish Cemetry on the right. Looking at the map it is with the junction of Old Hall Lane. This fits with the direction he ran in. He was amongst the fields there.
Bazwa1983
Thank you so much. We're out today with more posters. Had feedback from a lot of walkers/bikers who have seen them and are looking now too.
elspethjones
I've put posters on Gardener Road, Clifton Road and Church Lane in Prestwich at entrances to the Clough this morning. Hoping they will be seen by the moutain bikers/walkers who head through Prestwich Clough and Waterdale to get to Philips Park. Also put one up at Avon Cottage Stables on Clifton Road, the woman said they will all look out while riding out in the area.
maxine
put posters up on the lamp posts nearby to raise awareness, hand flyers to dog walkers in the park
Bazwa1983
Thank you for all your effort. He did run down Phillips park East yesterday back into the park. He was seen to take a left which should loop him back into the main but though. We've spoken to the house owners round there and also with the pub, golf course and rugby club. We'll drop some posters off with them though.
elspethjones
Sorry guys, I've just spent 2 hours in Philips Park and no sign. There were already posters up at the main entrance and through the park. I searched and put posters up in the harder to reach footpaths in the park (circular walk) and also along Philips Park Road East that runs parallel to the M60 from J17 motorway roundabout near Westlands to the entrance to Philips Park. A lovely couple took a poster from me to put on their neighbourhood watch on Seargents Lane, Whitefield. Has anyone asked the Parkfield Inn, Sedgley Park Rugby or Whitefield Golf course to put posters up? Sorry I couldn't call in to them but I had my dog with me.
elspethjones
Ok, I will print some now and also a map as I have only been in there once recently. I will be there approx. 1 30pm. I will put one on the main entrance and then as I go along. x
Bazwa1983
Hi. Thank you for that offer. We are trying to get a load printed today but if you could put some up too we'd be really grateful.

There has been no more sightings since yesterday afternoon but we're hoping he is looping round the park still.
elspethjones
Have poster been put up in that area? I can print some off this morning and put them up in Phillips Park this afternoon when I go looking for him?
Bazwa1983
Not found yet. He has been spotted though this afternoon on Philips Park. This is where he originally ran off from. Please keep a look out. He is very friendly but scared of strangers in general.
maxine
