Tiny the dog has now been taken safe and sound to the shelter on Penarth Road.

How sad for this little chap, first to lose your home and to end up with someone clearly quite unpleasant then to be abandoned! I would suggest that the new owner does NOT get the dog back, better to go to a rescue who can properly homecheck a new owner. Perfectly illustrates the dangers of rehomeing a dog yourself!

*** UPDATE ***

This morning, my Husband walked the dog around the area he found him last night and was guided to a particular house. Nobody was home but he managed to speak to a neighbour who recognised the dog, so my Husband left a note with a telephone number.

This afternoon, the owner contacted us and said they had re-homed the dog a month ago. She (Pat) is an older lady that is going through cancer treatment and couldn't cope. She said her partner (who she doesn't live with) found a new home for the dog, who I now know is 5 years old and called Tiny. Pat, after having spoke with us, contacted Tiny's new owner and apparently received a lot of abuse from him - she was very emotional when I spoke with her the second time. I asked her for the new owner's (Russell) telephone number and have been trying to speak with him for the last hour, but have yet to do so. I have re-contacted the dog's home and advised them of the situation and said we will foster Tiny for the interim. I hope I can speak to Russell before the end of today but this is sadly looking like Tiny may have been abandoned.

My Husband will be canvassing the area where the dog was found in a couple of hours. I have also listed the dog on a popular South Wales dog walking group on Facebook.

Thank you for taking the time to list this found dog and ensuring the safety of the dog.
Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
Please check on our Missing pages in case the Found dog has been registered as missing with us.
If possible please add a photo as this greatly assists our work in matching Found dogs with Missing dogs.
