Brilliant news , just goes to show even a puppy can survive, Dogs are clever, survival mode sets in and we must/should read the signs, well done all especialy the Son for the Rugby tackle and Jackie for not giving up, it also just goes to show Jenny and Tiga's tracking was spot on! & please someone ban those horrible flexy leads! :)

So so pleased and relieved for everyone concerned under the circumstances. As the son left the car park last night Rufus was spotted running across the road, down towards the village and he jumped out and managed to catch Rufus
Rufus was very wet and was without his lead and harness.
Well done to everyone that helped to searched.

Sam I tend to agree with you, there is another search party out tonight started at 6.30, I was going to go up myself but feeling unwell so have got into bed. I understand there were a lot going. They are concentrating search on opposite side to where he ran and in the rapeseed field.

Jenny and Tiga did track outside of the carpark but I understand the owner discounted the idea of him making his way back to the village. But maybe he did try then backtracked to another area and would make sense why no one has spotted him.

He could well be hiding in the undergrowth, fear will make him freeze and stay silent if he cannot escape. His harness could be caught so a very thorough search needs to be done as soon as possible.

We spoke with the son this morning whilst we were walking our dogs. One of our dogs had sniffed Rufus toy and both our dogs were nevously sniffing and looking really interested in the brambles on the right hand side of the track (in the woods opposite the carpark, the woods with the dog kennels) for about a quarter of a mile.

Have arranged a thunderclap for Rufus
Need to make him too hot to handle ASAP
Owner is making calls tomorrow to all relevant places that maybe able to help
Or may know something. More people helping search tomorrow, we won't give up Rufus stay safe,we all want you back home safe with your lovely mummy. X

The car park is on a road in the woods but the fields lead down to the village. I suspect he is still quite close by but I also think he needs to be made too hot to handle.
I wish I had got more time to go back but I did 650 miles in 2 days and Tiga needs a rest.

Tiga tracked loops always coming back to the car park indicating that he is staying nearby but he will need to be getting water and there was no sign of any around. It is still possible he could have been picked up from the car park or has since wandered some other loops in search of food and water but by
9. 30 last night it was too late to find him without frightening him off in the
dark.

Is not too far for him to wander down the hill into the village and maybe find the school where he likes children.
Apparently he is the size of a cocker spaniel so not as small as perhaps we think.

No luck in finding Rufus today but Tiga seems to be telling us Rufus is still in general area from car park in direction he ran to probably hiding. Clever boy Tiga I hope you get a well deserved rest after the last two days and Jenny too.

As you go up to the entrance of harewarren woods there's field with a gate that says no unauthorised entry with yellow rapeseed oil plants in , that's where he was last seen

Have given advice to owner and put her in contact with Jenny and tiga k9 searchers have advised to let police and dog warden know and to put up posters also to contact petlog.
