This has been posted by Hooky's owner Sandra this morning. I personally also would like to say thank you to this lovely man, what a kind and caring thing to do xx

"I don't know the name of the gentleman who helped Dominique and myself get Hooky off the moor last night but I want to a heart felt thank you to him because we would have struggled by ourselves. He kindly talked to Hooky all the while he was carrying her and gentle put her into the cars when we got back to the car parks. His kindness was much appreciated and hopefully I will be able to thank him in person again when I see him out walking with his dog. Xxx"

I am so very sorry for your loss of your much loved Hooky. She had to have had a fantastic 4 years with you as her new owner and a far better life than she would have led. The memories of all your happier times will help to heal your loss in time. Many years ago I rescued a Lurcher and we too were inseparable and he appreciated everything around him as I'm sure Hooky did. RIP Hooky now forever young. xx Last edited: 2015-05-13 20:46:43 by ClaireC

I am so very sorry to report Hooky's body has been found. Copied from her FB group:

I am afraid I have some very sad news.

I have just received a call from Dominique, who is out now with Sandra on the moors, and I am deeply sorry to say they have found Hooky's body. I have no more details than that.

This is clearly not the happy ending we had all hoped and prayed for. But at least Sandra has some closure on the situation now.

Hooky was a rescue dog, a former travellers' dog, adopted from Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue four years ago. From talking with Sandra and Pip at EGLR, as well as from seeing Hooky's photos, I know that Hooky led a full and happy life during those four year and that she was very much loved. It's more than many dogs in this world get and yet less than Hooky deserved.

Thank you to everyone who has liked this page, shared the posts, printed and put up posters, paced the streets, walked with or without their dogs in the area Hooky went missing in and so on. I am sure Sandra is very grateful. Right now, she is obviously spending time with Hooky and her other dogs. She is clearly devastated.

Rest in peace Hooky.

I am so sorry.

I would personally like to thank everyone for their help and support to Sandra and of course, Hooky xxx
Thoughts are with Sandra and her family, and everyone who has been involved in the search, at this very sad time. Run free over rainbow bridge beautiful girl xxx

My dog went missing near here at Christmas and I was amazed at how so many people I had never met were looking for her and helped us to find her. Keep positive - ours was away for 4 days. I'm on my way home now, I'll go that way and have a look. Hope you get news soon
