update email from finder...
Sam is in Easter Compton, just down the hill from the motorway junction. I believe Dog Warden is still observing. Police have closed the log and handed it to the dog warden to pursue. I have attached map. I have to do school pick up now but will pass back through on my way back. Not sure that I can be of any help though as he is not responding to anyone.

Have asked whereabouts of sighting...

Update from helper...
Thanks Jayne for putting it on - I'm just trying to read through all the
comments - think police went by but couldn't stay because he wasn't on the
road?? But helpers did speak to police and police are getting annoyed as owner
not in contact/arriving?? Dog Warden is there I believe. Sam is said to be howling and
very frightened. It's a bit confusing as several people trying to keep him in
sight. Just so needs his owner right now!!

message from helper...
Police are there - getting -pee'd off with owner as apparently said to someone 45 mins ago on way, but nothing since??? Not sure if there is confusion but it's a dangerous area for the dog to be in as literally a few hundred yards from busy motorway. No one will catch him I don't think - he is scared stiff. Apparently owner's workplace isn't far away but owner's boss won't leave premises - police might insist, however not sure if that will work either unless he happens to know the dog well?
Sarah
Sam is located and people are trying to keep him in sight but need owner as he won't go to anyone. Messages left on owner's mobile. If owner sees this, please check your mobile messages urgently.
