I have not been able to find an update to how she is doing. Shame because we would love to have known how she is doing.
Unknown
Any news on how she is doing please?
Esther
Brilliant news. Wishing her and her new owners all the very best.

tha nk you to the person who has taken this girl in. you are a STAR* Surely someone would know an owner who had an elderly dog, who was deaf, and no longer there. Wouldn`t they be suspicious. the so called owner could then be called to account, and be prosecuted. Jayne. Yes we must have a photo of herm and her new family.

Fabulous fabulous news. Our old gal has got her new home. She's staying up in Scotland - which is best for her - and they were inundated with offers. Well done to everyone concerned and especially to our Springer lass! X

Have phoned the number and left details. Can't have an old gal in her dotage not having a comfy chair to see her days out. I too hope there's a long queue or an owner desperate for her. Either way we'll all get her sorted eh?! X
digbysmum
Hoping for a happy ending for this lovely senior citizen. Do hope an owner can be traced xxx

Chewitti How kind of you. keep us posted; lovely caring person.
ClaireC
If you are offering a forever home to this old lady you would probably need to phone the number as stated above. I can only hope there is a concerned owner looking for her or at the very least a long queue wanting to give her that special care. Good luck and thank youxx

Happy to donate too. If gorgeous gal wants to come live with my four year old Springer and me down in Sussex she's welcome. Genuine offer.

Can't stop thinking about this old girl. I can't offer her a home, but happy to donate if she needs care.

Oh I hope she wasn't dumped, poor girl x
susieq666
Poor dog. I cannot imagine abandoning any dog, let alone an aged deaf one. Only absolute scum would do that, so I hope she just got lost somehow.
Unknown
According to her rscuers she could not have got there by herself. It would be lovely if she was accidentally lost though, and an owner is looking for her.
ClaireC
Poor poor dog. I am really hoping that rather than being discarded and dumped that she has just simple become lost and that there will be an extremely grateful owner out there looking for their much loved companion of all the years. I feel sure that she will have pulled a few heart strings and somebody somewhere will look after her in her twilight years if not claimed.

Such a sad story. Lets hope it has a happy ending and she finds a loving home for what is left of her life. Thank you to her rescuer. I would not hold my breath for an owner to appear.

I hope and pray that someone has genuinely lost this wee dog, and is out there looking for her. I cannot believe that anyone would deliberately abandon her in such a remote place.

So sad, I cannot believe someone would have taken her there and left her. She was somebody's pet for all those years. How could she be deserted and left when she is elderly and deaf. My rescue dog is 15 1/2 deaf and nearly blind. How could they ?

Pete is hero of the month as far as I'm concerned! This is surely worthy of a local tv news story. Happy times ahead for this little dog I'm sure.
Esther
Thank you so much for rescuing her. Has she got a rescue space if one is needed ? I think we probably all agree with you janiejewel

FINDER>> Thank you for helping this poor dog. Perhaps someone may know of the dog, and owner, and be called to account. I hope when you are old, and deaf asomeone leaves you in mountains to rot. I feel like pushing you off a b....y cliff myself. At least she is in safe hands now. am willing to donate to her care if needed. So pleased there are such caring people around to help. thank you once again finder for rescuing her..Last edited: 2015-04-21 15:01:45

The area on this says North West, should it be Scotland? x

It's a huge distance away but, just in case, I posted this yesterday on Ruby (doglost number 82165). This old lady is going to be picked up by a rescue when her 7 days are up :)

Lost: Springer spaniel found near Loch Callater. Pic: Pete Mulvey

A deaf, elderly dog has been found abandoned and near death in the Highlands.

The female springer spaniel was discovered at Loch Callater near Braemar on Friday afternoon.

It is unlikely the dog travelled to the area alone but she is not chipped and was not wearing a collar.

Walker Pete Mulvey, who found the spaniel, said: “Going down the side of a hill I saw her lying quite deep in the heather not moving.

“I thought she was dead but then saw she was breathing. Eventually she began to show signs of life and started shivering. I tried to give it some water and cheese but she wouldn’t take it.

“I managed to persuade her to get back on her feet and follow me back to my car. It was pretty slow going as she wasn’t great on her feet but my wife drove from Braemar and took her back home in her car.

“We managed to persuade her to eat and drink and she perked up a bit and then fell asleep on the floor beside my own dog.”

The spaniel is now in the care of a kennel in Aberdeenshire. Anyone with any information about her or her owners has been asked to contact Aberdeenshire Council on 01569 768 224.
