Welcome home gorgeous Ted.xx

I am so pleased you have got Ted home safely. My two girls Tinker and Hemp 71080 and 71081 are still missing. Please keep a look out for them both xxxx

After his night on the tiles he has hardly moved from his bed all day! Of course being Ted he has taken command of the huge bed whilst my poor Lab is squished into Ted's! Yes, he is certainly back home.....

Great news that Ted seems to have survived his big adventure quite unscathed, apart from a sore paw. I'm so pleased that Jenny was able to come out for you - and also glad that she wasn't needed in the end. I'm sure Tiga would have taken her straight to Ted if he was that near. I'm sure your other dog must be delighted that he's home - probably fast asleep now!

Brilliant News!! :-)

So so happy for you, what great news! :-)

Huge relief, my husband found him just before Jenny turned up with Tiga. It was lovely to meet them both though and I am so grateful for her kindness in coming out and getting stuck in a traffic jam too! Ted just suddenly appeared on path near youth hostel not far from where he went missing and despite us having searched area repeatedly. He seemed pretty casual about it all and not in the least bit concerned - just has a limp because of one sore paw. Goodness knows what he had been up to but is no worse for wear as a result. A massive thank you to everyone for helping, spreading news and being so supportive. It will be an extendable lead for Ted ALL the time from now on I think as don't want to go through that again!

Fantastic news! I was at Polesden and asked the office if they would put up a poster - only to be told he had just been found. Well done everyone!

Fantastic, i really hope there is some good news soon. xx

Have just spoken to Jenny and she is going to meet us up at Polesden with her tracking dog. Let's hope Tiga can work some magic for us along with all the lovely people keeping an eye out for Ted. Thank you all so much,
JEC
We are going up there this morning with posters and am also in contact with Jenny and her tracker dog so keeping everything crossed. He could well have drifted to Norbury area so thank you so much for keeping a lookout. I will update. With news but won't have much access to Internet for a while.
Snowy
That is a very good idea smj10, this area just comes into the Dorking sorting office area so it might be worth a try.

This morning i walked from the small pond (in the woods where he went missing), through the woods past Tanners Hatch and then took the bridlepath up towards Ranmore. Then i came back down Yew Tree Lane. Sadly not a sign of Ted. I was really hoping for just a glimpse or some barking but i am afraid there was nothing. It was raining though so he may have been taking shelter somewhere.

It will get a bit busier up there soon as more walkers arrive so i hope he is spotted soon. Have you managed to get any posters up?
smj10
When we sadly lost our dog 2 years ago, I asked the Royal Mail to kindly put a notice up in the Leatherhead sorting office for all the postmen to see before they go out on their rounds. Just an idea. Walking up at Norbury this morning so will look out there as well. Really hope you find him today.
JEC
That is brilliant idea, thank you. I have contacted her! So many dog walkers at Polesden I am hoping with spreading the word he might be spotted and found, especially if people are aware he is missing and looking out for him
alikat
I know where you mean as well. Not sure which way the group walk will go, but will make sure we all spread the word. It might be worth contacting Jenny to bring her K9 tracker dogs and try to track him. http://www.k9tracker.co.uk/ask-for-help/ If you put in the details on this page, I'm sure Jenny will have loads of helpful suggestions for you even if she can't get there herself.
JEC
You are all so kind, thank you. Please feel free to share on any other FB pages or Twitter that might help. We are going back again in morning with our black lab who is as distraught as us..... Thank you all again, it is so appreciated xxx
Snowy
I know exactly where you mean, i will walk that way first thing in the morning to search. I can also help with posters, will print some tomorrow.

I hope he is back home safe soon. X

This evening I have added him to our Cairn Terrier Rescue page on Facebook, he is getting a lot of attention and already has been shared 59 times. Over 3,000 people have viewed him. I hope he is back at home where he belongs very soon.
JEC
He went missing at Tanner's Hatch which is down in the valley beneath the house - wooded area between two fields with a small fenced off pond. It is on one of the NT marked routes. If you walk up the woods away from the path (direction he was going) you reach the Youth Hostel. I hope that helps give you an idea where he went missing. Have been back tonight and told chap at Youth Hostel and also the tenant in the farmhouse nearby. Have also alerted National Trust staff/rangers and dog wardens for Mole Valley and Guildford. He walks at Polesden a lot but we live in Cobham so unlikely to find way home. I fear he has become disoriented and might even be up towards Ranmore Common area. We are going to go out again tomorrow searching. I feel absolutely distraught but thanks everyone for your support.
Snowy
Can you tell us exactly where he went missing? Does he know the area, could he get home himself?

I will be walking at Polesden early in the morning so will keep a look out. I do hope that he is found by then though.
alikat
Shared on Facebook. I will be walking my dog at Polesden Lacey tomorrow morning, with a group, so I'll print off a couple of posters and see if I can put them up. I'll try to show it to as many dog walkers as possible - whereabouts were you on the estate when he disappeared?Last edited: 2015-02-24 17:12:16 by alikat
