I love this little girls face, she is so beautiful. Very pleased that Lexi is where she belongs but my heart does go out to the wonderful people that had bonded with her. I hope they will find joy in the fact that they have done a fantastic thing in returning Lexi to her family. Brilliant people all round in locating Lexi. Well done to everyone concerned. To the owner, I think most of us would go into shock if our furbabies go missing or are stolen, so don't beat yourself up over it. You will probably be able to help out when someone else unfortunately goes through what you have just been through. Have a long, happy & safe life Lexi. xxx

UPDATE posted on LEXI's fb group:

Hi everyone, it's Zuzia here. You all know what's happened to Lexi from a previous post made by Lisa, how she was dyed, sold, and made her way home through this page.

I'm happy to say she's home safe and sound now. She's very tired and a bit confused due to everything that's been going on but is doing very well and getting back to her old self.

I have to say I'm very grateful to the people that brough her back. Don't want to add names in case they would prefer to stay anon for now, but I'm sure they will see this post and want to say: Thank you so much for taking good care of little Lexi. And thank you so much for bringing her back. I know it's hard for you because I saw the bond you had formed in such a short amount of time, and that just makes my gratitude all the bigger. Thank you so so much.
One more thing I would like to say in this post, from both myself and my mum; we want to send out an especially big thank you to Lisa Harris and Ania Tronina for all the help from day one. For those who don't know, my mother moved to New York recently and wasn't able to do much in terms of helping to find Lexi, and I myself had trouble coping emotionally and honestly was not much help, but Ania and Lisa stepped into our shoes, took over, and both put in a lot of time and effort into finding her. Without them, I know that Lexi would not be home with us right now. I owe you both a very very large thank you for everything you have done. These two women are amazing, to say the least XxX

And last but not least, thank you to everyone who liked, shared, and followed Lexi's post throughout the past few weeks. Without all of you pitching in to get the word out, Lexi would not be home either xXx

A bit on Lexi's first night home. She was brought here in the evening. She had some food and didn't want to be cuddled just yet, much prefering to explore her new home instead, followed by a bath that she enjoyed. She hardly got any sleep at night due to the excitement of being home, and due to her missing the wonderful people who brought her back to me. After both of us staying up all night we ate a quick breakfast and fell asleep on the sofa for an 8 hour cuddling nap. She's currently happily laying next to me on the carpet while I post this update. Will keep everyone updated on this page of how she's doing

claire. putting a disk on a dogs collar is good, however it can easily be removed. in lexis case, the power of facebook is whats brought her home :D
lisa
here is the post ive put up on lexis facebook page. there is important info that everyone should take note of. We were contacted during the day today by a lady whose friend had bought a Shih tzu a week earlier. The dog the friend purchased was black and white and sold on Scumtree as 13 weeks old, very rare colouring for £400, answering to the name Mapple. They collected the dog from Piccadilly in Manchester and didn't think anything of it. After the dog became dirty, they bathed her and the black colour ran off leaving Lexis grey colouring. They tried to contact the seller but the number was switched off, they became very concerned at this point. They got Lexi scanned but nothing showed up, probably because of the position of her microchip. During the day Lexi popped up on the ladys newsfeed and she contacted us straight away. Zuzia spoke to her and it became apparent that the behaviour patterns the dog was showing matched Lexi and we then had an anxious few hours waiting til the dog was brought to Zuzia. Instantly Zuzia knew it was Lexi. Since buying her, Lexi has been very well looked after and both Lexi and the man who bought her, had become very attached to each other. We have no way of knowing how she was kept in the week leading up to her being sold.

We are all so happy for Malgorzata and her daughter Zuzia. What none of you know is that Lexi was supposed to have flown out to New York to join her mum Malgorzata, last week. Malgorzata has been stuck at the other side of the world not knowing what had happened to her baby. Currently Lexi is very confused, obviously, and not wanting hugs. It will take her some time to re-settle especially as they now live in a different house, they moved house the weekend Lexi got lost. She will be taken to a vets tomorrow to get a few things checked out.

As a lot of you know, I have helped in the search for Lexi, and myself and the family would like to thank everyone for all their help and support during the last few weeks. Special thanks go to @find harvey, who donated flyers and made her dog of the week this week, and to @chico power (mel) who has also been a huge help. We all can't thank everyone enough. Lots of love to you all. Lisa xx

What fantastic news! Jayne - this is the post on the Find Lexi FB page that I think resulted in her being found.

"Hi, I've just come across this page on my news feed and I think I know someone who may have bought her. I don't want to give false hope but my friend bought a very similar dog about a week and a half ago, only she was black and white but after she got dirty on a walk and he gave her a bath her colour ran off to what lexi is in the photo. He tried to contact the seller but the number was switched off and it all seemed a little strange. He's taken her for a microchip scan and she is not microchipped. We think she responds to the name Lexi much better than mapple (the name he was told when he bought her) what should I do? Who do I contact?"

URGENT - i have received this message this morning "Savannah Carr:
I was driving last night but it was really dark but im sure i seen your dog but i thought that she was with someone and it was about half 11 near winstanley nursery. I hope this helps x".....whilst this remains unsubstantiated, please can I ask anyone in the area to keep their eyes open, just in case there is a shih tzu wandering. This nursery is not far from the sighting on Oldham Road the other day.
