Fantastic news! Well done all who helped this little fur baby and her poor distraught owner so far away. All safe and sound once more. Phew! Thank you Owl for letting me know but I couldn;t get on till now to post a comment. Cassie well done for trying and Littlelabd, well done for registering Gracie on here. Welcome home Gracie!!! XXXX Maybe an idea to show Gracie's owner, Tina, this page so she can see how we were all supporting her and Gracie so she knows that despite being so far away, they were never on their own. x

Great news and clever girl for finding a nice lady to help her :)
BearsMumma
She is a very healthy but exhausted little bear, but she seems fairly unfazed at the moment. She's stopping with vets for now but she is in very good condition. Thanks again everyone for you help and effort in every special way. I personally cannot thank everyone enough for helping me get my friends dag back x
Chris63

Debs
Elated to say Gracie has been found safe and exhausted but seeming well, she's just off for a vet check. Seems Gracie had enough of all this partying malarkey and was found sitting at a ladies doorstep just by the recycling centre where the search party were at just yesterday following sightings. The lady took Gracie in and contacted the owners. Welcome home Gracie!!
Littlelab
YAY so pleased, Gracie has been found and will be reunited with Tina when she lands later tonight

K9 Tracker help finds lost dogs. Also local group called Bella's angels have volunteers to help searching for lost dogs. Hope they can help. X
Chris63
I believe there is lady who can come out with her dog and they can pick up the scent of a dog. Might be worth looking into, fingers crossed this little one is soon home. X

Littlelab, I emailed Cassie on the email addy given into Admin but she says she hasn't received it. I am in contact again with Cassie to get correct email addy or to check her junk box.
ClaireC
In my area, and a couple of surrounding areas, they do not come out only if dog is contained! You are lucky to have the support of your area DW believe me. x
Littlelab
Alan one of the DW's is on voicemail at the moment, but I have left him a message
Littlelab
Tina her owner is desperately trying to get a flight back from Egypt, in the meantime her friend Cassie is searching for her day in day out coming over from Colchester, however, of course Gracie has become skittish, she has been spotted today in Rush Green Road, Clacton on Sea, so we are now desperate for help as she has become afraid of all human contact
Debs
Depends on area Claire, Basildon dog warden for example is brilliant goes out of her way even on her days off! I've asked Kimmybear to offer support and advice as the area I cover mainly is Southend and I feel you really need some support and advice ATM, Gracie CAN be caught I've every faith in that
ClaireC
My friend Chrissie has just emailed me to say that she has flooded local facebook with her telephone number and will keep sharing. Looking at google map of area there look as though there is another holiday village down Leewick Lane - have you been down there and put posters up. Dog may head down there looking for food source. Also not sure when your bins are emptied in this area but neighbours and bin men may also see her. Maybe speak to refuse dept to make them and usually they are very accomodating. You could also email the dept with poster for them to put in their vehicle.Last edited: 2014-12-28 22:35:36 by ClaireC
ClaireC
Yes and i would probably feel the same as you. Sometimes its not quite that easy to get back and who knows the owners may be on their way back!
Folly
If this were my dog I would forego my holiday and come home immediately so I hope owners have been notified and given the opportunity to put their dog before their holiday.
ClaireC
Trouble with dog wardens, in my experience, is they will only come out if dog is contained and not on the loose!

This little girl will be hungry soon as a suggestion is to put her feeding bowl with some of her food where she is being seen on a daily basis. If she comes to the bowl whilst you are there it is best not to say anything to her or even make eye contact in the initial stages. If food is being placed there regularly she will continue to come to it. When do her owners come back?Last edited: 2014-12-28 19:27:29 by ClaireC

DW both Colchester and tendering have been notified as soon as we knew and have contacted since by spotters but sadly they did not come out. Any reminder/updates to locals to look out will be great thanks.
ClaireC
I have some friends who live local to this area and will notify them of this latest sighting. They are aware of this missing dog. Might be an idea that if you haven't already done so as you have posted that you have notified DW but not sure which one but notify Tendering Dog Warden as well. Update. .. spotted this morning in same area of LEE WICK LANE at the water works. Been our all say again with no other sightings. More posters, knocking, etc. Any new sightings please contact me ASAP day or night but please do not approach -thanks to all for or sharing /searching
DogLostOwl
If chip address is out of date you can ring the chip company and update this now. You will need to call them anyway to notify them that she is missing.
ClaireC
My phone wont allow me to add but give a poster into Reception at The Orchards but go to the Owners at reception part.

Poor girl x stay safe until you get found x x
ClaireC
Brightlingsea is a fair distance from St Osyth i have a caravan sited there. It might be that this dog may also go in the direction of The Orchards caravan site by possibly the footpath by The Mill and follow the sea wall walk. This walk is approx 2-3 miles and a good place to pop a poster up is The Ferryboat inn which is roughly where the walk eventually turns the bend at Point Clear. The site is open at the moment and if you put some posters up by the Entrance to The Orchards and also at the bus stop there. If anybody is near the residential nursing home on the way to the caravan site would also be a good place. Sorry i am not down there to help out. But will make friends aware of this dog who live nearby. Good luck.Last edited: 2014-12-27 19:09:30 by ClaireC

Oh gosh. Poor little mite. Okay, we need to plot the sightings so we can see if she is heading someplace or doing her triangle. Posters need to go up in the places of sightings and at Brightlinsea. I'm not sure how far that is, but definitely poster wherever you can. Could be people were afraid to say they'd lost her and hoped they could find her before making it public. Emailling info to the person who put this furbaby on here.
Littlelab
We have had a sighting Boxing Day morning at 5am in Lea Wick
Lane but when approached she bolted into fields again. I'm hoping that she may be heading into Brightlingsea area through fields and farm land
BearsMumma
Please contact Us day or night with any sightings. She WILL run if you try and approach. She is very scared and strangers will unsettle her further. Thank you in advance. Please keep following and sharing.
Littlelab
Dog warden and Police have been notified, owner is on holiday in Egypt and it is her friends out looking and putting the posters up. It is quite possible that the full story hasn't been given and the friends only notified that Gracie had escaped 24hrs after the incident, there has been a note on FB to say there was a sighting in Longfields
