I have very good news. Henry the stolen Lurcher has been retrieved from the Animal Rescue Centre, Foxdells Lane Bishops Stortford and is now home safe and sound. Many many thanks to everyone who shared my posts. Many many thanks to everyone in Felstead for looking out for him, many many thanks to the couple who managed to get him only for him to repay them by running away from them and many many thanks to the couple who also managed to get hold of him and took him to said ARC. A massive thank you to everyone you ALL helped and had a hand in my parents getting him back home.Last edited: 2014-12-27 19:19:24 by ESSJ - Area Co-ordinator Rutland

just had a call from the owner. Henry is *FOUND*. He was at a rescue place somewhere towards Stortford. He was picked up yesterday. Safe and well, and he's had a bath ;-)
Allison
I live aboout 8 miles from where the other dog was found. We had an intruder on the 9th dec whom luckily was confronted. We have a large run although it is not for dogs as our 4 all live indoors, however it could be mistaken for a dog run and this is the area the intruder went over to. I rang 101 who were nothing more than useless. My daughter then chose to plaster the CCTV images over facebook and somehow the intelligence team at Stansted Airport got hold of the images. They have been brilliant and although a crime did not occur they have been out twice to us and then a PCSO turned up two days before Christmas to make sure all was ok and to see if we had had any further issues. The intelligence team at Stansted may well be more helpful than the local police in this case. I really hope that Henry turns up safe very soon.

The vets told me in a phone message that they were contacting local police when his kennel mate was found. Due to the fact that Henry was missing and could well be in the same place from whence we suspect she ran.
Rightly or wrongly i have zero faith in the police having the manpower or will to do anything for this dog.
Allison
Shouldn't be difficult to follow quad bike tracks with all the mud around at the moment. Has anyone contacted the local police?
Cath R
I have put a call in to dog warden out of hours service to ask for a call back.
Cath R
I do hope its the latter and the warden has it.
As lads on a quad bike would indicate its been taken back to where it may have escaped from.
If the warden had it she can read its microchip and reunite with owners. I do hope we are told if and when hes found as i have lost a lot of sleep worrying about the fate of this boy.

We re-walked the route we took yesterday. The owners of the house into who's garden he ran say they saw him following lads on a quad-bike. However, later on we me a man (walking a black lab) who said he'd heard that someone had called the Warden and that he had been captured. I've no idea if this is true, and of course by the time it got to us was 3rd or 4th hand. We have passed this onto the owners.

I have just driven around the area and a few miles around where Henry was spotted yesterday and my partner has looked on foot. Sadly no sightings today as yet. We have told as many people as we saw in the area so people are keeping an eye out for him. Hopefully someone found him and took him in overnight. I do hope so.x
Cath R
Littlerob you have been brilliant. Thats one scared dog and you did amazingly well to catch him in the first place, we will walk our dog down that way tomorrow too and look for him.

I'm the person that saw Henry this afternoon. He was at Absol Bridge, Mill Lane just south of Felsted. We gave him some treats and put our dog's lead round his neck (he had no collar) and walked up the road to knock on a local house. they didn't know him (obviously) and so we decided to put him in the car. however, when we went to shut the hatchback he took off (and threw the lead) and when off up the road (Further south from Felsted towards North End. He went into a garden (of the first house on the left, and I'm ashamed to say we gave up at that point. I'll go out tomorrow and see if I can see him again.
Cath R
Not confirmed but possible sighting of him this afternoon in Mill Rd, Felsted CM6
Somebody tried to catch similar dog and get in car but it ran off.
