Hi, I am currently in Cardiff -as a student at the Royal vet college in potters bar I cam home for xmas see. I will be back on monday. I will call owner monday evening as seeing grandparents this weekend in west wales. Once back in Potters Bar I can hopefully meet up with owner and see where still needs to be posted. I will also put a poster (as I do for all the lost dogs in the area) in the Vet college as often strays are brought in. Really hope we can bring Heidi home. xx

hi i used to work for an animal rescue that had a dog stolen a few years ago by the owner who had signed the dog over to us! we had him on cctv, his name, temporary address (which was a guest house) and the two councils involved in relocating him, we also had tools he used to break in (causing a few hundred pounds of damage, not to mention the emotional distress!) and a bottle that he had left behind which would have his DNA on. We gave all this to the police and got nothing back! not even an update, every time we phoned the person dealing with the theft was not there! we complained and still nothing! This year when a dog was again stolen by a person posing as a potential adoptee, we notified the police, nagged them several times as a matter of principal. But with the help of Dogslost five weeks later we got George back and all involved had a party to celebrate! Wish i was in your area to help but sadly not. Good luck getting Heidi back, if your stuck for helpers to poster do a local radio appeal. publicity works the police don't. xxx

I have just read through this and I think the police SHOULD have "further lines of enquiry" if they have been given vehicle details etc. Sure they'd act quickly enough against me if I caught the b******s and gave them real justice! Does anyone with more knowledge than me think a complaint is in order?

I cant believe what I've just read. This is disgusting- what exactly are the police doing about it this is THEFT. I'm too far away to be any use but as I've been involved in trying to find 2 x GSD missing since May (north -s72) my heart goes out to you. Dont lose faith, trust in the Doglost helpers. Some one somewhere knows who took her & where she is.

Might be worth getting in touch with City of London and Essex police dog sections as they often get calls to look at young dogs from private owners, just thought as Heidi is still young someone may offer her to police. Any luck with Lynn Cook or Hillside Kennels ?

i dont know if theres anyway of her seeing it i will ask my mate if she has got the internet im sure north weald market is run by epping forest distict council perhaps if you contact them and ask them to make the surcuity aware of people trying to sell dogs over there they can put up posters i sometimes go over there myself but not often i will try to make it over there saturday but i cant promise this week my printers knackered cant print a thing , i do know alot of people take there dogs over there i take mine sometimes but if someone can print off posters and get over there to hand them out it would be great as thousands of people go over there ,good luck xx

Thanks for all the support. Have checked South Bucks and it is not her. these people meant business, left a large pair of industrial bolt cutters when they were disturbed and a branch of pine (not as a walking stick!!}. We feel very vulnerable especially as the police have said they have" no further lines of enquiry", even though we gave them a description of a car and registration of some "t "people who called two weeks previously claiming we had been looking after their brothers dogs and they had come to collect them. We are a sanctuary, not boarding kennels. Bridget xx

Give Hillside kennels Epping a call and also Epping dog warden Lyn Cook she is a GSD lady ! its a long shot but she covers a large area and knows her shepherds . Hope Heidi comes home soon.

I have a GSD called Heidi too. I am so sorry. I really pray your Heidi returns home soon. I cannot believe the scum that walks this earth, it makes me so cross. What is wrong with people? What is this world coming to? I hope the people responsible for stealing her will know what is like to have things taken from them, Only 10 times worse. Doping her! What low lifes. What goes round comes round. Heidi will be well and back with you soon. Don't loose hope because of the scum.
