even when in your own garden it is soooooo important to have your i.d on your dog. so glad microchipping will soon be compulsory - but it is invisible so visible dog tags are vital to reunite dogs immediately with owners name and address. it makes life for the finder so much easier when the dog's phone and/or address is on tag. scanning for a microchip involves a lot more effort for the finder, and there are still some people who don't know what microchips are. my dog tags cost £4 and are worth their weight in diamonds - the bitches also have tags stating - I am neutered
