"Just to let you know a Railtrack engineer posted on Facebook; spotted Long Buckby site about a dead black dog on the railway line near buckby - I contacted Railtrack last night and again this morning which culminated in my going to Whilton Locks to collect Buddy. I took him to the vets (in the hope it was a doppleganger) but the chip number matched. So sadly an unhappy ending - but at least I know where he is. A huge thank you for all your help."

Buddy has been found. Sadly not a happy ending, but at least we know what happened. A big thank you to everyone who was so caring in trying to find him, at least we have closure.

Had a couple of comments on facebook: "A black lab ran down the main road in West Haddon yesterday. I couldn't catch him and he he didn't have a collar. Some other people further up past the post office tried. Could he be the same one?" and "Black lab was running down East street during busy time the other evening. He really was running very fast through traffic, hope he's ok" x

Buddy was seen going down East Street, Long Buckby at 6.30pm 30th September. He had previously been seen in Ravensthorpe at 5.30pm and went down the West Haddon Road into a farm on the Long Buckby side of the West Haddon Road.

Had a message via facebook~the lady thinks this was Saturday: "I saw this dog by ravensthorpe reservoir car park then it ran all the way up to the hill towards hollowell and went down the tiny back road towards coton, look very scared with no collar"
Unknown
Message received late last night.

"At present we "know" where the dog is - and he is sticking to a circular tour, but so far we have been unable to catch him.
Tomorrow morning I have the dog trainer of the dog coming at first light to have another go at catching him.
The local gamekeeper is also putting out a fox cage with some meat in it (hopefully he will close the door when he takes the meat) where he is visiting on the farm.
I have placed items on his track, put my scent there and also put his bed there, but he is so spooked at the moment he is impossible to catch. We very nearly had him on Wednesday night, fingers touched fur, but he was going so fast we couldn't hang on.
Hopefully he is getting very hungry now and also very weary and I hope we have better luck tomorrow."

Best of luck to Team Buddy today. Hope today is Buddy's day x
