Look at that gorgeous girl! Note the blue collar ....this was all part of the distraction along with her white spot being coloured red! Owners will have a new pink collar for her by the weekend and they are so, so grateful, happy and thankful to this site and our insightful volunteers xx

oh gosh Hazel - i'm in tears - of joy that she has been found but of sadness that some evil 'beings' could treat her so badly & then 'sell her on' - It amazes me how people will part with good money without seeing any papers, vets records etc. & the fact that she has gone through 'quite an ordeal' wouldn't you think that they suspected something ? So glad they took her to the Vets & did the right thing in handing her back - lucky Roxy x
& a BIG THANK YOU for all that you did for Her & Her owners - I am sure they appreciate it ?
Good Work Hazel x (HunnyJax)

Thanks Bobble....visited gorgeous Roxy today after her 5 week ordeal. I have booked her in for a free health check and microchip with thanks to The Dog Trust and Rowe vets. She's lost weight, was starving and very clingy...she's had quite a cruel ordeal without going into detail but if the person who stole her is reading this, find an honest living....you have experienced the weight of the massive army of doglovers and volunteers out there who communicate via social media to help dogs like Roxy find home ;)) Karma means you will have your day to answer for your greed

Fantastic news to log on to. So pleased!!! Sad for the people that seem to have bought her in good faith though. As always these people who steal dogs, the heartache often doesn't stop with the owners. So pleased she has got back home where she belongs xx

Woo...hoo! I have some fantastic news ...little Roxy has been found! Charlene was just taking her home following a call this morning :) Roxy was apparently sold for £500 and the 'new owners' were taking her to the vets, when she was recognised from the Facebook posting as Roxy! I am going over to visit them tomorrow...the whole family are so happy and wish to thank everyone who helped to get Roxy home...over to blue....now to wipe my watery eyes! :)) x

Spoke with Sharon at Wiltshire Constabulary and she will ask the lady who reported the sighting of this dog to call me..Keeping owner updated and will let all know when contact made....whoever has Roxy will find it hard to keep her in...she's a free spirit and this will work in her favour in finding home....xx

I have now added an advert on gumtree for Roxy http://www.gumtree.com/p/pets-missing-lost-found/roxy-light-fawn-white-chihuahua-white-spot-on-nose-stolen-hickory-land-almondsbury-bristol/1082939158

DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
We took the bridle path today that leads to the motorway subway and the fields beyond. Walked along the edge of the fields, Postering on the way, including all the houses backing the fields leading to the A38. Postured up the A38 into and along all the houses in Hortham Lane. Come on Roxy....just one sighting or a small lead xx
Sarah
Meeting now at 10:30. Changed colour description to point out white dot etc.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
There is a distinct white spot on Roxy's nose that everyone in the area should look out for!
We are meeting near the bus stop in Hickory Lane tomorrow at 11AM to search for her in the bracken and beyond....bring some posters if you can as someone has taken a number down....sometimes a sign ;)
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Yes think its worth doing Sarah....you can see some of these tones in her pix and it was certainly the impression I received from those who sighted her around the estate before her disappearance.
I postered Winterbourne yesterday.
Given Charlene the 3 key DW nos to check regularly
Planning to set up a Facebook account for Roxy this weekend

We are planning a walk through the bracken with some postering on the way if anyone else would like to join us on Sunday at 11am?
Sarah
Also just thinking whether the colour White is a correct description as comments have been that she is a very light whitish/fawn colour. I can change that on the description if you let me know as don't want any finders being put off if the one they find isn't snow white.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Had good catch up with owner Charlene who has visited kennels and vets in the area as well as postered /made enquiries through neighbours. Charlene agrees that a Facebook page would be a great idea along with a post on gumtree and will contact the Police to make sure it is a CRN she obtains. Without saying too much here, there is a possibility that Roxy is being held in the closer Bristol community so posters are still key from Almondsbury down to Patchway and across from Thornbury over to Winterbourne/ Yate / Westerleigh ....anyone able to assist Postering in these areas please do help search and spread the word :)

I took another look this morning and managed to put more posters up around the grill, the fencing beyond and bus stop. Also took a photo of inside the raised drain with the hole on the side as well as the drain below the grill = relieved to say both are all clear :)
The children were keen to help so I arm them with 70 posters and they posted them through letter boxes around the estate :)
Spoke to quite a few dog walkers who are all now looking out for Roxy....one did say she was asked by a traveller a couple of weeks back if she would like to swap her dog as they were looking for a female!
Someone must know where the travellers in the area have gone?....probably not far, Bradley Stoke maybe? I still think it is worth speaking with the travellers liaison to see if they can help?
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Forgot to say, I'm tweeting for Roxy and some neighbours said they would share Roxy on their Facebook x

Took another look around this afternoon and returned little later at dusk to see if I could hear anything but sadly nothing. I did call round to speak with owners this afternoon and will try again tomorrow. The children in the neighbour are great....they're spreading the word with posters and acting like little detectives! Sounds like Roxy likes to play on the green field where the children play football and has been seen in the past near the grill which fences off a drain below, just beyond this green. I didn't have wellies on but wonder if someone can check the drain underneath?....it's not wet, just lots of undergrowth....sort of place Roxy could get herself stuck? I will be back down tomoz morning if anyone else is around and will hope to speak with owner Simon and his wife xx
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Thanks Sarah....yes I gather she was let out and about and I got the impression from the owners she would play a lot with the children...I do wonder if perhaps she's been taken to a home or by someone walking their dog as they do have a lot of dog walkers from outside of the area using the park? I think it is definitely worth anyone available over this weekend, especially Sunday morning which is when she went missing, to speak with dog walkers and hand out posters ...just might jog a memory ...I will be there for sure x
Sarah
Thanks Hazel. I have been out there twice now - it seems from talking to a few people that this little dog is very often out and running around and following people. I spoke to someone who said that the dog was playing with the children in the park a week or so ago which is sort of the other side of the estate. I am not really getting any response about whether when she's out whether she heads towards people or likes going towards the brambly bit but it is sounding as if she is a people dog. As posters go up and are handed out, word will get around about her missing I'm sure - just need a positive sighting/info for that Sunday. I did start walking in the overgrown bit, but it's a bit creepy on your own! I initially handed the owner about 50 posters (small and large) to get about the place so word should be getting out there.Last edited: 2014-09-20 09:51:02 by Sarah

Great to hear this Debbie....looking at how the land lies, the estate is like a little village but needs many more posters further out especially south side of the motorway by the subway and on the A38. Apparently there was a travellers site close by?....they moved out just 2 weeks ago and I wonder where they have moved to as I believe little Roxy has found herself there before. I also understand there is a reward for her safe return ....their little boy is heartbroken x
debbie
Afew ladies from lost and found pets in Bristol and south Glos have been out searching in and around the area without success. We have been trying to get updates from the owner but have had no response as yet x

Took lots of posters over today and caught up with a very helpful gentleman who will poster during his many dog walks. He will also walk across the bramble field from the bridle gate where I have put up a new poster. He tells me that the path has a motorway subway and recalls men gathering there up to something? It is perfectly possible for someone from there or across the other side to take Roxy on the Sunday so I suggest that whole area is posted.....are DL able to appeal for more Posteri helpers by widening the postcode areas to cover the other side of the motorway?

I have been informed that there is a tree cut down on the gravel walkway with a drain exposed on its side which is large enough for a small dog to get stuck. The council were due to repair it but never came back ....it was too dark for me to locate it but can someone check this please?

I spoke with concerned neighbours so message is spreading....there are a lot of dog walkers that visit from outside of the estate so worth stopping and asking in case the've seen Roxy or saw something odd on Sunday xx
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
There is a pathway through the thick bramble field via the bridle gate on the outer gravel path (almost opposite where owner lives) can someone walk this fully and check as I was alone and unsure where it leads ..it must drop down to a bank to motorway so worth a check....Is is also worth advising Highways too.? X

I have shared with Doglost FB page & Twitter. Hope Roxy is safely back at home soon. X

Spoke with lots of dog walkers and neighbours today...all now know to look out for Roxy ...looked around area for 2 hours ....lots of undergrowth. Concern is that Roxy disappeared at 11.30 on Sunday and may have been picked up as,there have been no sightings of her since. I notice:
1) The bus stop outside so worth letting drivers/passengers know
2) Ask local neighbours if they saw anyone suspicious around that morning?
3) Advise police and request CRN as they will have an idea who is operating in the area and be able to do a watch patrol
4) Advise pub landlords incase attempt to sell
5) Poster and advise every vet, pet shop and dog walkers (man with 2 staffies uses a dog walker)
6)Poster more...a lovely couple in Camilla drive will poster areas on Sophie's walk 4x per day!!i will drop poster down to them
7) Consider popping advert in the Post and Gazette....or ask for article pulling on heart strings of how upset your little boy is ....happy to help if you find this difficult
http://www.bristolpost.co.uk http://www.gazetteseries.co.uk
8) Still speak with gypsy liaison ...I believe they left 2 weeks ago but my be able to lookout /know who is in the area
9) Get friends to watch all sale sites....preloved, gumtree, http://www.newsnow.co.uk/classifieds/pets-animals/teacup-chihuahua-puppies-for-sale.html, freedads, pets4homes, trade it
10) Check with Dog Wardens everyday as Roxy is not chipped...bristol as well as surrounding area.
11) Create a Facebook page for Roxy ...your friends in the know will be able to help you with this
I will be tweeting for Roxy as I hope anyone else can :)

Stay strong and positive for your little boy, was good to speak with you both and I will be back down tomoz pm xx

I am available to help search tomorrow ...I am GL12 and Almondsbury is only 5miles down the road x

I have printed a batch of posters for them to put around. Really hoping they get some news of sightings as surrounding the housing complex is a very overgrown area full of brambles and scrub that stretches for many acres.
