Thrilled to have a telephone call from Claire saying that Rory is home!! Maybe he had seen enough of the racing .. or maybe he knew the rain is coming tomorrow!!! Whoo hoo! I've asked for all the details and also a reunited photo for this page.
Phew .. relieved!
Well done Rory .. you are one clever lad! Stay safe now please.Last edited: 2014-08-09 11:59:39 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Claire
That dog really looks like Rory! Unfortunately Rory has more white fur on his chest. I wish it was him. We searched in Rottingdean and Seaford last night but no luck. Put posters up. Fingers crossed for more sightings...
Phoenix
He looks very like dog found 73232 long way away but we had one recently that turned up 110 miles away from where lost. Worth a quick look anyway.

The sighting was of Rory in Rottingdean possibly heading Saltdean direction. I expect Claire will update further when she has the chance.

Do we have any helpers in the Brighton area that would be able to help Claire and put up posters please? Last edited: 2014-08-09 01:59:38 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Claire
Have had a possible sighting of Rory in Rottingdean. Waiting for more info.

We've been out again tonight to the racecourse but no luck. And no more sightings today :( Have got lots of posters out and have spoken to local dog walkers too. This site and Brighton Dogwatch are great - the power of social media!Posters are around racecourse, Queens Park and the level. There are a couple down at the seafront but I think it will be too busy for him down there.Last edited: 2014-08-07 22:31:46 by Claire

Claire has been out searching at the racecourse since 5.50am but no luck finding Rory yet. I have rung and spoken to them at Brighton Racecourse and they promise to keep an eye open for him. Also emailed ATR who air the race meeting to ask if they would mention Rory .. bit of a big ask but as a top jockey lost his dog recently they may just help!
If anyone hears of a sighting and it's not on here please leave a comment saying where and when .. then admin can 'bump' the page.

If anyone is able to help Claire poster in the racecourse area or anywhere else in Brighton it would really be appreciated. Many thanks.
Come on Rory .. show yourself so we know where you are today.

I have shared Rory's page on Doglost South East and East Sussex Fbk pages and he is on Brighton Dogwatch page too. I have also emailed Claire with advice.

A sighting of him Wed evening up on the racecourse and Claire has been up there to look for him but no luck.
As there is a big meeting at the racecourse tomorrow I have emailed the Clerk of the Course to let them know about Rory. I've also asked them if they would make a announcement on their public address system. Worth a try as they are good people there!!
Have suggested Claire takes posters there and asks permission to give them out as there'll be lots of racegoers .. a lot of them local so a great way of getting the word out that Rory is still missing.

I'm pleased to say that Rory is already on the Dog Warden site and hopefully local vets and rescue centres have been informed too.

If anyone is able to help put posters out in the town that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hoping that little Rory stays safe and is home very soon.
