Thanks for the update Alison .. hope you mean she was passed by the vet, not gassed him!! I hope Pebbles recovers from the stiffness, scratches and her ordeal very quickly. You will be able to enjoy your holiday now.
Goldenfrodo
What fantastic news xx Well done to all involved. Welcome home little Pebbles x Please stay very safe from now on sweetheart xx
Alison
To each and every kind, caring and wonderful person that helped and supported me in the search for my darling Pebbles.
Words can not express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks for the tremendous and overwhelming help.
We have been totally beside ourselves with worry and grief since losing her last Sunday.
To have her back home safely is a miracle from above.
She had travelled so far and just have been truly terrified.
I'm pleased to report that she gassed the vet and only has superficial injuries.
She has been given anti inflammatories for her stiff legs and joints and sudo crem for her tummy that is sore from brambles and undergrowth.
Without the support of everybody involved I alone could not have coped.
God bless you all , it's a miracle she's back in our arms!
Love and light
Alison xxxxx

WHOO HOO!!! Pebbles is home with Alison. I have just had a call from her saying that she was found and caught on Battle Road by a lady who was on foot (I think a couple of lads helped too) and then passed to a kind gentleman who took her and checked for owner details. Well done to that lady and many thanks to that man. You have made Alison a very happy lady.
This was a long way from where Pebbles went missing so I'm wondering how she ended up there .. but no matter, the important thing is that she is back with her mum.
I'm so happy for her.. it was obvious how devoted she is to little Pebbles.
Thanks to everyone who helped Alison and myself in the dearch for Pebbles . you are stars!
If any of you would be happy to help with other lost dogs in the area .. not many of them thankfully, please 'join us' on Doglost home page. It's easy .. just click on 'join us' add your details and that's it. You can do as little or as much as you like. Sharing always helps, but if you want to do more then postering and searching is brilliant. Thanks!!Last edited: 2014-08-05 09:58:21 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Hi Clarkey, Hopefully if the editor/journalist reads this page they will pick up on all the information about Pebbles. Have put posters in Collington Surgery and Collington Newsagents.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks K9 Capers .. Well done! maybe mention that Pebbles was found abandoned on the beach in very poor condition .. probably released after her use as a breeding dog was over. Very sad and pulls at anyones heartstrings.

Should also say that if anyone saw or knows the lady with the white dog in her car .. please contact Alison or Doglost in total confidence on 0844 800 3220. Thank you.

Have emailed the following to Bexhill Observer, hopefully they can feature Pebbles this week.

Dear Sir,I am hoping you can feature this story in the next edition of the Bexhill Observer.
Pebbles went missing in Potmans Lane on Sunday 3rd August. You can see all the details of Pebbles, where she was lost and an update on the search of this timid little dog on her Dog Lost page.
The website link is here http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=72960
There is a belief that a lady may have picked up Pebbles but so far she has not reported this to any authority. We appeal to this lady to do the right thing and take her to a local vet as Pebbles needs daily medication.
Thank you for you attention. Kind regards Barry Line K9 Capers Bexhill

Hope Pebbles is found soon.
I will be in Sidley area this afternoon, anything I can do?
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for the update Alison. You are doing brilliantly and all your friends and helpers too. It's so good to see where posters have been put already .. it saves others putting them in the same places. Thanks to those people for posting those details .. well done!
Carry on doing what you are doing .. there can NEVER be enough posters.

I've been thinking about the lady seen in Pear Tree Lane who was asking about an owner for the dog (which did sound like Pebbles) in the car. She was obviously well meaning because she picked the dog up from the road to take it to safety. However, the finder has still not reported finding this dog ..which is a requirement of law. On rare occasions there are people who think that Dog wardens put dogs to sleep if they are not in good condition .. this is NOT the case. The Dog Wardens in this and our surrounding areas are very good and do NOT do this.

My other thoughts about this person go like this:
> the lady may think that, due to her condition .. the stress, the very baggy teats, that Pebbles present owner is responsible for this. We know that is NOT true. Alison rescued Pebbles from the beach in poor condition but this lady would not know that.
She will also not be aware that Pebbles needs medical care because of her previous sad life as a breeding dog.
> Pebbles collar has Alisons contact details woven into it, but no one has rung her yet .. it may be that Pebbles would not let this lady get close enough to read these details as the dog she had in her car was described as stressed.
> she may have decided to keep the dog which is also against the law .. it is plain and simple THEFT.
If she that is the case sooner or later someone is going to notice this.
Has your friend/neighbour just got a new little dog?
Have you noticed someone walking a dog when they did not have one before?
Have you heard a dog barking in a house/flat where there has not been a dog before??
Have you seen anyone buying/taking dog food into their house when they have not had a dog there before?
If so, please check that the dog it's not Pebbles. Most people will want to chat about any new dog that they have.
> Pebbles only feels comfortable with Alison and no-one else so it's very likely that she is likely to escape from this lady sooner or later. So we must keep looking for her.
> it's possible that the lady has already released the dog somewhere (like in the woods) so she could well still be loose somewhere. Again ..please keep looking for Pebbles.

I don't have transport today so I'll be busy sharing Pebbles Doglost page again. Keep positive Alison. You have lots and lots of people helping and routing for you and little Pebbles. Good luck.
Alison

Thanks TK and cavalierandlhasamummy.
I went back at 5.30am and sadly no sign of Pebbles althought the food had gone (probably eaten by the black cat I saw twice in the early hours!) I postered around the substation area (left posters on the cage) and at the bottom of Spratts Lane.
Then had to go to Eastbourne .. on way back put 2 large posters in car park of Highwoods, met lots of dog walkers who took smaller posters with them. Many of them were already aware that Pebbles was missing as they had received a text early. I'm not sure who sent the texts but if it was you..well done and many thanks!

>>> I spoke to a gentleman who lives in Pear Tree Lane (Ninfield Rd end) and was told that yesterday at lunchtime a lady had stopped by his house. He said she had a lttle white dog in her car which was stressed and did he know who the dog belonged to. When he said he did not, she said she was going to the woods carpark where the dogwalkers go (Highwoods) to see if she could find the dogs owner. It does sound as if this could have been Pebbles but no one has contacted Alison despite Pebbles having a collar with her contact details on.
This lady has NOT reported finding Pebbles to the Dog Wardens (which is required by law) or taken her to a vet to have her checked for a microchip.
If anyone else saw this lady (only description I could get was 'lady approx in her 50's in an ordinary car) or knows who she is please let Pebbles owner know and leave a comment on this page.

>>> A lady at the substation mentioned seeing a lady on Sunday who had a small white dog in her arms up near the Ninfield Rd end of Potmans Lane. When she got to the entrance of the footpath up there she put the dog down and walked down it. It could have been the same lady seen by the householder in Pear Tree Lane but may also have been someone walking their own dog ..we can't be sure.

I suggested Alison and friends poster the houses along Potmans Lane, Pear Tree Lane and also at the footpath entrances to the wooded area beside the substation. Posters are so important .. please put posters into letterboxes of houses in Potman's Lane and Pear Tree Lane.

I went back to the substation area and met several people looking for Pebbles .. thanks to all of you and for spreading the word.
>>> Alison has contacted the vets in the area and is searching and postering today. I will leave her to say where this has been done.
I also adviced her to inform the police about the possible sighting above in case it was Pebbles in the car.
As we can't be sure what the lady did with the dog afterwards we need to carry on searching and put as many posters up everywhere and anywhere in the area of Sidley and Bexhill, as it's possible she let her go. If it was Pebbles it means she may have been picked up shortly after she went missing and would explain why there have been no sightings of her since she went missing.
Pebbles was found quite poorly and in a bad condition on the beach in Bexhill a few months ago. She was taken in by Alison and she just wants her home where she is safe.

Do you know of someone who has just got a dog that looks like Pebbles???
If so, please call her owner or contact Doglost on 0844 800 3220 in total confidence.

Poster power works so as many as possible out there please so we can get some more information coming in. Thanks everyone.

Unfortunately Pebbles has not been found yet so we must widen the search for her.
If anyone is able to help her owner put posters up in Bexhill and Sidley it would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have some posters and will be outside the electricity substation in Potmans Lane about 8.30/9am if anyone wants to join me. Off to Eastbourne now.
TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Fingers crossed she will be found by morning, I can help look for her mid morning if needed .. x

Tk, Ali, K9 Capers: Brilliant! Thanks for sharing .. good to get the word out so quickly. I knew I could rely on all of you!

>>> As Alison says we had a little BBQ with smelly bacon and sausages and have set up a cage with Pebbles bedding and toys in it. Let's hope she comes back later or in the early hours. I;ve come home and will try to stay awake and print some posters for the morning.

>>> Pebbles is an ex breeding dog rescued by Alison so will be nervous with people she does not know.
Dog wardens are aware and I'm sure vets will be notified in the morning too.

>>> sharon Thanks for having a drive around and looking for Pebbles .. very kind of you.

>>> Glad you were able to register and comment on here Alison. You've done everything right and taken all the advice so let's hope little Pebbles comes back to the cage tonight or in the early hours. If not I will be back early tomorrow or after I have taken hubby to work in Eastbourne.
