Still thinking about little Bear, not long now and it will be time for his first injection. Postering as many vets again and maybe alerting dog training clubs in your local area that hold puppy training classes from when he would be 11/12 weeks old. (Some puppy jabs have an eleven week fininish) Hope there is some good news soonxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have seen what bull terrier mums can do to there babies and i agree it is horrific bear was the second biggest pup in the litter he was growing feedind ect normaly. also in the litter was a seriously small and i mean small baby she had trouble feeding and breathing and was three times as small as the others we revived her at birth and for days i watched her struggle and wounder if i had done the right thing for her or weather i should of let her go we had to intervine with this little one giving her supplement feeds and stayed up with the litter for eight nights feeding her extra every two hours any way if mum was going to kill one she would of taken her survival of the fittest and all but she did not the little one is doing just fine obviously after bear went i still stayed up with them feeding her. I truly understand where you are coming from but blood would of seeped into the paper blanket or shavings. I dont want to sound horrible but bear was a big pup and he would of took some eating and then to clean up in a short space of time no way im not giving up on him I know he is out there and some one has him I know he was only nine days old but there is more than a good chance that he is still here and i wont give up on him. I totaly understand that mums do and will take a pups life i have seen it happen in one of my most loving mums she took one at two days and it was horrific and clean up was good but she did it for a reason the pup was weak the runt of the litter. I belive bear was taken by someone who knew my dogs hence mums lack of reaction and i also belive he is no longer in the area its so easy to shift on such a young dog who is going to be inside for many weeks but im not givin up on him ever xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have thought long and hard before this message but there is a theory that might explain Bears vanishing act. I have had bullies for 50+ years and twenty years ago I was breeding showing and doing a bit of judging. Bull Terrier mothers can be dreadful and I used to sleep by the whelping box for a fortnight. They know if a pup has something wrong with it and will put it outside the box. The worst scenario is that the bitch will actually eat a puppy and you will not see any sign of this. Don't want to be unkind or crude but not even a speck of blood. When our bitches whelped we banned visitors and the window cleaner. If burglars were in the house and she was disturbed I am inclined to think that she might have gone down this road. It's awful I know but believe me I do have experience of this breed. Thanks ollies mum I am havin the same trouble with the evening chronical have also tried magazines who take true life stories but again nothing has come back its such a shame we are a country of animal lovers so many pets are going missing and we could all do with a little press help to get our pets home I know bear was only with us for nine days but he was loved as much as the rest of the ebt gang my heart goes out to every one who has a dog missing at this time its such an awfull thing the not knowing what has happened to them is the worst but a keep reading the reunited stories and there is hope for everyone xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Am sending the press release to the Daily Mail AGAIN because have heard nothing, and when I phoned this afternoon the unhelpful female I spoke to said 'If we were going to use the story, we would have done so by now'. I told her that it was a little more than just a story, and that the papers help was required as a matter of urgency. Lets see what happens now.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I too am wracking my brains to bring this little mans loss into the public eye. Please forgive me if this is a dumb idea as geography is not my forte, but what about posters and flyers being handed out at Newcastle Uniteds ground when there is next a match, which is next Sunday (celebs v legends). This is also televised live on sky one so the crowd would not just be from the local area but also further afield. 52,000 capacity predicted - thats an awful lot of extra eyes and ears. Contact the club and ask if they could make a plea at half time and possibly put details of Bear on the big screen (can't remember if they have one), and leafets inside the ground. I wish I could do more to help, but am so far away. Take care baby Bear.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

kiaorcadian bulls the spraying your car with Bear's details might not be such a mad idea you know - anything to get press attention is what you need at the moment. make sure you've emailed the local BBC news team too... I don't know if you have it up north but down south we have plenty of farmers fields with huge banners in - and plenty of happy birthday banners on sheets on bridges - can you mock up something big and eye catching - photo it and send it to all the local press and tv companies for the area? You need Bear to be too hot to handle.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The only things i can think of is have you tryed the local schools/Unis and advertised your reward to the kids/youths (im thinking if it was youngsters then they might not be reading newspapers and will be more likely to give him up if they know theres cash in it for them, little gits that they can be) Also posters in the local shops near the schools (the ones where they and get there fags in there dinner brake! ) also chippies and fast food shops. Ive been posting all about him on a Doggie website that alot of kids and adults from all over the U.K (and the world) use and i will keep trying to think of ideas, Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Its so hard where do you look for him I know my best chance is injection time ect but thats seems a life time away. The evening chronical was going to run a story but nothing happened they say they still are but i wish they had done it earlier then the people who had him may of felt edgy. Some one on behalf of the daily mail rang to but again i have heard nothing back i am tempteded to spray my car with his details to draw more attention to him a need more publisity because hes not getting seen outside and when he does come out hes going to look a lot different than in his posters am brain storming for ideas x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did any newspapers cover the story? Dont give up hope Bears mum & dad (sorry dont know your names) There might be more luck when he gets to a age when he will be needing wormers/first jabs, As long as all the vets in your area know about him theres a good chance he will still turn up :)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SO SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE STILL NOT GOT YOUR BABY BACK. I HAVE HAD ALL MY DOG'S AND EVEN HAD TWO CAT'S TATTOOED AS SOON AS I HAVE GOT THEM. PUPPIES CAN BE DONE WITHIN THE LITTER BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW YOUNG. I WILL SPEAK TO MARYLIN WHO COVERS THE NORTHWEST. IF THE PUPPY IS TATTOOED AS SOON AS THEY CAN IT IS BETTER AS THE TATTOO GROWS WITH THE EAR. THE LINK WITH DETAILS ON GETTING YOUR DOG TATTOOED IS ON THE RIGHTHAND SIDE OF THIS PAGE. Poor Bear, still not home. I really feel for you Gemma, I know you must be fearful for the other pups too..... how about a baby monitor with a screen so you can keep an eye on them, CCTV, or a fixed down crate with an alarm.... its just so disgraceful than we should have to do such things to keep our dogs safe!!! I cannot believe what I have just read. A nine day old puppy being stolen from it's mother. Police who refuse to give a crime number because there is no proof it even existed. What sort of excuss is that? I think people who steal dogs are despicable but I can see the logic when there is an opportunity to make money but the response from the police beggers belief. Are they idiots or can't they be bothered? I wonder if they read this site and now know this story may go to the press hence a crime number. I really do hope with all my heart that little bear is found soon.xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

no news on bear yet suppose no news is good news. Still no print in evening chronicle have spoken to them and they say they will still run story but want more info on more lost or stolen dogs i have given them the web address so hope fully they will get in touch. Looking in the local papers there are adverts for people wanting puppies to sell on to loving homes surely this is just an advert to steel puppies. Also if anyone ouy there is in the process of buying a pup english bull keep a look out for him a know he will only be 15 days old now but who knows what people are capable of these days. Am off to poster some more now every one in this area is going to see this little pup. Thank yopu all again will keep you posted on any news xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is the Bull Terrier Club show this weekend - I am there taking some overseas visitors. I will poster there for you on the off chance that someone has contacted a breeder believing a someone had 'found' Bear. I will also seek out all those in the North East area just in case they hear anything in the coming days. Please contact the local schools and ask the headteacher to announce this theft in assembly. This worked for me years ago when my fox terrier puppy ran off. We tried all the usual avenues and found him through one of the children coming forward saying they had found him. Make this little man too hot to handle! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a despicable thing to do - I don't understand why they only took the one if they are that way inclined I suppose the mother would have reacted more if they had taken more - Do you think it may be someone you know? awwww i hope and pray this little baby is home safe and soon poor baby ,mothers are normally very protective over their babies ,has there been any people taking alot of interest in the mother lately,? building her trust up ,even though shes freindly she still would have been a bit wary of someone coming near her babies , the person that has taken this baby would have to be feeding it by hand every 2 to 3 hours for it to survive ,or maybe they have a whelping bitch already and have just added your pup to the litter ? is there many of that breed in the area do you know ? and have they had litters? there are many small mined ppl out there and very cruel ppl to .surely if it was a teenager that had taken it the parents would have noticed .im sure if my kids brought a puppy home especially one thats tiny i would have to ask them when how and where they got it from good luck in getting this baby back Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can I just say a massive thank you to all who have shown interest in bear. I have been inidated with texts and calls and a lovely lady rang to say ahe had put up a poster in the local woods thank you so much for your efforts I am now beginning to see a little hope for bear. He was taken away from his mum and his brothers and sisters on fri 22nd. His mother is such a sweetheart she would allow some one to touch her babies beliveing every one to be kind and gentle. bears dad was in the next room and the theives would of come past him to get to bear. Although both parents are gentle and pose no harm to any one I feel that who ever has taken bear would of had to have been aware of how gentle these two dogs are as you would have to be mad to enter a home past a big male bully and then go and remove bear from his litter box whilst his mum was there only to leave past the big male again with this in mind I feel he is in the local area or at least taken by locals. What is it in human nature that makes people do such a cruel thing if you have bear please please bring him home get in touch with this website he is just a tiny baby he will not survive long if he does not have special care he still needs his mum. If you are helping to find bear i offer the biggest thanks you for your kindness and time if every one in the world was like you horrible things like this would not take place thank you all so much for your help and support thanks again gemma x x And to any one out there with a litter dont leave them for a second if they want them they will get them there is no doubt in my mind that my home was being watched by these horrible people.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just realised the date this litle mite went missing, it has been 5 days and he would have needed 2/3 hourly feeds day and night plus an outside heat source, His eyes will be open by now, I really feel for the owners as they must be prepared for the worst, May the theives rot in hell for taking this little lad . Do the owners know of anyone who has a bitch of any breed who has had a litter recently where he may have been placed?" Kc registrations are given on the details supplied by the breeder and are not a guarantee of their accuracy" Statement on the registration forms and application. This is not proof that the puppy existed even photos of the litter as the police would again say "one could have died" but you would think that they could be humane and do something to help this little baby, it is such an appalling thing to do, have they no hearts!! Appalling behaviour from the Police. Obviously if you are a breeder, get the puppies KC registrations in immediately so you have some proof of how many pups were in the litter. Even a Policeman can count. I am so sorry for these owners, looks like it was someone who knew the dogs, though I suppose if it was a break-in .............. did anything else get stolen ............ ? You just can't leave a litter for even 5 minutes once any advertising goes out. Owner will have to go over everyone who knew about the litter - and ask if they have told anyone else.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This turns my stomach and makes me so angry - what are these people thinking??? Would vets have checked the puppies when they were born and made records?? or is it still too early - not too sure how it all works. But once again the laws being an ass!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Every dog snatched is an evil act undetaken by the thief, but to steal such a tiny helpless puppy who is totally dependant on his mother is disgusting and dangerous to the pup's welfare. Really hope this tiny little mite is safely reunited with his mother and family very, very soonxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What planet are the police on here? No proof of existance? Will they say that of an as yet un-named baby? Does look like somone who knew the dogs. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keeping everything crossed for this little one. As for the b*st*rds that took him, lets hope they do one thing right in their lives and give him back. Sally xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Police have not given owner crime number as they say there is no proof that the dog existed-despite owner having photos! Only one of the litter was stolen and mum and dad were there at the time which leads owner to believe it is someone known to the dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How awful! This makes me sick - absolute evil b*st*rds! This baby needs to be found soon, what chance does it stand at 9 days old with people who clearly couldn't give a damn about it. Please, please lets get this baby home! Praying for puppy xxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is very ,very sad as the care this little one will need is tremendous, possibly eyes not even open yet, Will need hand rearing or a foster mum who has milk therefore check vets for enquiries about feeding also pet shops, ask them to report back on any enquiries. Probably been stolen by mindless idiots who may not have a clue. Where was Mum? Did she not protect them? does she know the culprits?????I will pray for this little baby and his safe return, ChrisxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
