Think you're right ellejay. I spoke to someone opposite Amida today. Their neighbour has a black/brown tortoiseshell cat which goes over there every morning. It could have been that one that I saw ...
ellejay
I have not had any more people ask since I been at work, we still have poster up in window but all seems to have gone quiet. I can't see many posters about :( wonder if they have been taken off.
I am still looking round area, but I really think loads more posters need to be put about.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
What news? I still walk past Amida every day. Haven't seen cat again, but Ellie's been sniffing along there as if something is there but she can't see it. Suggest you get some posters round the area unless you've had any other leads. Did you leaflet the people opposite? Did anyone lay claim to a similar cat?
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Didn't see cat this morning ... but I was an hour later.
ellejay
One of my work colleges lives right opposite Amida so i will inform her tomorrow. Cassy may well be lying low during day because of heat, and travelling round at night. Definatly need more posters around Eden park and towards Elmers end. She may even have made her way to the woods up long lane. There is so many possible hiding places. How about a poster at the driving range on long lane, as there is the crazy golf there with many many families going there daily. They may be able to put a poster up. I been driving round and round clockhouse rd, Forster rd, Hampden road etc..my inlaws live on Queens road and have told neigbours to look out. Come on Cassy show your face.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Yes, hopefully a reward would help - may persuade kids to start looking. Not sure if she'll stay in the same area - if indeed it was her. I was there at about 7am this morning - about 5 minutes before I made the call to Cassysmum. It may be worth the family members putting flyers through the doors of houses round there. If someone there owns the cat which I saw then at least it would eliminate her/him from the enquiries.
Millys Mum
Hi Baggy Dog! I texted cassysmum on another subject and had a reply saying that you had contacted her re the possible sighting. They've been to Stanhope Hope, presumably had a look around, and have put up a poster. It's certainly feasible for a fit young cat like Cassy to have made her way to Stanhope Grove. It's also good that Cassy's Missing posters are being put up further afield. I will speak to cassysmum & suggest that we take off 'Cassy Sighted' off the poster and replace it with 'CASSY STILL MISSING' so that people know she's still out there somewhere. Providing Cassy's family are happy, I think the wording regarding a reward should be larger/clearer and perhaps appear at the bottom. When I set the details up for cassysmum, I forgot to tick the Reward box and then couldn't seem to change it.Last edited: 2014-07-17 13:53:38 by Millys Mum

I was rather hoping for some good news by now! Did you see any cat when you went up there Cassysmum? Hopefully you would have seen the one I saw - even if it just eliminates that one from your search.
Gino
Tx Baggy dog!
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Just seen a cat looking very like Cassy in the grounds of John Lloyd (Amida) in Stanhope Grove. Had my cat-chasing dog with me so couldn't approach the cat. I phoned Cassysmum to let her know. Fingers crossed!
ellejay
Oh no, hope its not Cassy :( I am back over that way in an hour so will have another scout about.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Possibly deceased cat was at the other parade of shops in UEER (as that's the one near the vets). The place where the new Sainsbury's local is being refurbished.
Millys Mum
cassysmum has confirmed that the deceased cat was seen in Upper Elmers End Road but she doesn't know what part, as a long road. Obviously, it would be good to know the exact whereabouts as it will help with our enquiries. I'm guessing it's the shops down by the now closed Rising Sun pub and Co-Op food stores but, as I say, it's only a hunch. Team Cassy are out again tonight checking out the local streets. Fingers crossed xx
Millys Mum
Yes, as Baggy Dog has said, it's great that people are remembering Cassy (and her photo) when they are out and about in Beckenham. As far as I know, there isn't a Eden Park Road but is a South Eden Park Road (quite a distance from you though) and an Eden Park Avenue which is slightly nearer to you but you said during our phone conversation this afternoon that the person who saw the deceased cat mentioned shops and there aren't any shops in either of these roads. Do you think she meant Upper Elmers End Road as there are two parades of shops in this road? cassysmum - I've left you a message on your ansafone to say that it's also likely that, since the Council or O'Rourke haven't picked up a deceased cat, that the owner of this poor moggie has found it and taken he/she home to bury in their garden. If you get clarification that it was definately a cat (and not a young fox, as plenty around) that you drop a short note through each of the houses in the immediate area asking whether anyone knows anything or if the deceased cat lived in one of the nearby houses. It's got to be worth the effort to get to the bottom of this sad story.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
The only good thing, then, is that people ARE taking notice of the posters. As has been said before, by putting up lots of posters and putting LOADS of flyers through doors then it keeps Cassy in the public's mind. Trouble is that if you see a cat wandering around you don't think anything of it, unlike dogs - dogs on the loose are always missing, cats may be just 'out'. Keep strong - you know that our mutual friend got her cat back through sheer determination some years ago!
cassysmum
Had a phone call from Eden Park Vets that someone saw a cat looking like Cassy that had been run over in Eden Park Road. I have rung council and O'Rourke who collect at the weekend, but no report of a cat being picked up. Also someone said they thought they saw a cat resembling her in Queens Road, we searched but no sign of her.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Any more news Cassy's Mum?
Millys Mum
Also, unless you've already done so, Clockhouse Cars need a large poster and a batch of mini-flyers for the cab drivers and customers (presume Terry C still works there) and Clockhouse Station also needs posters by both entrances. Might also be worth popping into VIP to ask if Simon or John have seen or heard anything from their customers.
Millys Mum
These sites ('pets' for sale) need to be checked on at least a daily basis. It was through a 'Yorkshire Terrier For Sale' advertisement that ellejay tracked down missing Dylan.

Posters in Eden Park Vets and Sainsbury's Beckenham.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Gave poster to Barry this morning to put up in clubhouse at allotments, also one to local friend.
Millys Mum
The Cats Protection volunteer said that she will also pass Cassy's details on to the local RSPCA person. And... next to the Dorset Road allotments there is a park (don't know what it's called) which needs a poster or two. Good Luck 'Team Cassy' - fingers and paws crossed this end!
Millys Mum
Baggy Dog and ellejay - I reckon the allotments are a distinct possibility - it just hadn't occured to me how close they are to the area around Cromwell Road. And, as I've mentioned previously, there are so many nooks and crannies also in the immediate area and beyond. I know that the original wild Bengal cats are twilight and nightime hunters and so I expect that Cassy is finding a food source after dark (and I don't mean checking out the local takeaways!) and water (good it's rained) and then lying low during the day and so the allotments or an overgrown garden or odd bit of wasteground would be the obvious choices for Cassy. I spoke to Eden Park Vets yesterday afternoon as some of their customers come from the Croydon Road area and I will pop a poster in to them today. I also contacted the local Cats Protection League Lost & Found cats volunteer (and emailed her a poster) and so she will put the word around.
ellejay
Actually the allotments may well be the Dorset rd ones, i know you can see them off clockhouse rd, right in the corner at the top end of road, the road has a little side road with about 3 houses and you can see them behind them. I got many friends who live round this area on the look out and they spreading the word also.
We just need that one person to be able to spot her and ring number straight away, but word is spreading so hopefully wont be to long till she is found.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Millys Mum - if you look on Googlemaps then Dorset Road allotments are actually fairly close to Forster Road! I am going up there to agility later today - I'll take a poster up there. When driving to Beckenham yesterday I noticed that at the Croydon Road end of Cromwell Road there's a newsagent there - may be worth a poster in the window? As you know I've never had cats so not really sure how far they might travel. But I would guess it would be to quieter places such as the allotments. I'll know if there's a cat there as I'll get pulled by my geriatric dog. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Forster+Rd,+Bromley,+Beckenham,+Greater+London+BR3,+UK/@51.4009296,-0.0371659,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x487601a655bff803:0xe7c195ad94dacda7
Millys Mum
What's good about these sightings, and the interest from local people, whilst we were out and about yesterday evening is that Cassy is becoming well-known in the local close-knit community. We just need to make Cassy the best known and hottest girl in town. cassysmum - ellejay mentioned some nearby allotments which are the sort of places a cat might be hiding out as plenty of nice quiet hidey holes and resting places, especially at night. Do you know where the allotments are that ellejay mentioned? The Dorset Rd allotments are too far away but presume there are some closer to you?
cassysmum
Thank you all, will be out tomorrow to deliver some more flyers up and down Forster Road where there was a possible sighting. She is very vocal so I am sure I will be able to hear her if she is nearby. Will keep trekking!

Millys Mum
ellejay - it's so good to hear that people are showing great interest in Cassy's poster and good to hear about the possible sighting in Forster Road (I'm just trying to place the road and where it is in conjunction with Cromwell Road - will have to ask the OH who knows Beckenham inside out). cassysmum was planning to drop a poster into St James' church this morning and she's also posted some more mini-flyers through letter boxes. When we were out yesterday evening, I was looking through a locked gate leading to 2 blocks of garages which was near to the possible sighting of Cassy on Monday morning. I found out today that the garages belong to the company I work for and so two very kind people checked out all garages but sadly no sign of Cassy but at least we can rule out the possiblity that she's shut in those garages. Hopefully, with more people at home over the weekend, it will bring about those oh so important phone calls.
ellejay
Had loads of people ask today as they saw poster in window. One lady said she thought she saw a very familiar cat in Forster road jump over a front gate, this was yesterday morning she said. But when I asked what part of road as its quiet long she says she couldn't remember ..but if it is a true sighting Cassy could well be circulating main area, so we need to get as many posters on trees and lamposts round these side roads.
Unknown
If Cassy has been sighted, it is a possibility that someone else may bde feeding her.
Millys Mum
Thanks Riverlady - very much appreciated!

I've been asked if Cassy responds to her name ... please advise!
Millys Mum
Doh! ellejay - i didn't spot your post about the poster on display in your surgery. It sounds as though it's giving the patients something to chat about which is great. That's also a good idea about the church. Hopefully cassysmum will see your post and pop one up there tomorrow before she starts work. She's also planning to put a poster up in or near Croydon Road Rec and hand some mini-flyers out to the local dogwalkers who frequent the park.
Millys Mum
Meant to say Cassy's poster is in the window of a nearby doctor's surgery and so hoping a patient will give us another lead as to where she might be hanging out.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Glad the sighting is positive. Fingers crossed. If my dogs went missing I'd get some t-shirts printed up with pictures and Missing details on. Snappy Snaps in Beckenham did some 'bloat awareness' t-shirts for us last year. I think the Beckenham market is on this weekend so there'll be lots of people out and about.
ellejay
I put the poster in our surgery window, already had at least 10 people ask when they came in and said they will keep look out and spread the word.
There is also an allotment just off clockhouse road i think,( in the corner) so maybe go there and ask the people there. I have been driving very slowly down St Jame's amd roads off it, keeping eye out. Also has a poster been put in the church on St jame's as there is also the preschool there and their grounds.
Millys Mum
gino - thanks for bumping Cassy. We spoke to the woman (and her husband) this evening who is certain that she saw Cassy in her road (nearby Shrewsbury Road) on Monday morning. They have a beautiful black and white cat of their own and so were very keen to help keep an eye out. We met another mum who said her children and other children from nearby Balgowan School were also aware and looking for Cassy. There are many garage areas, sideways and bits of land where a cat could be disorientated and laying low and so hopefully it won't be long until she shows her pretty face. Come on Cassy - your family needs you home, preferably by tomorrow morning!Last edited: 2014-07-10 22:52:17 by Millys Mum

Twitter alerts requested as local sighting.

Bumping...
cassysmum
Thank you to everyone who is helping me to find Cassy. Millys Mum and me have put up more posters and dropped flyers into houses in the hope that someone somewhere has seen her. A big big thank you to all, and Millys Mum always there when needed.
Millys Mum
If Jayne or one of the co-ordinators reads this, would you bump Cassy's page up due to the possible sighting in a nearby road by a woman who's also a cat lover!!!
Millys Mum
ellejay - just spoken to cassysmum. She had been out following up a credible sighting in Shrewsbury Road. She will run off a poster and hopefully some mini-flyers and pop them round to you in work this afternoon (THANK YOU!). Baggy Dog - thanks for your offer. All being well, cassysmum will print some off but, if we need you, I will give you a call. I've said that it's best to print the mini-flyers onto coloured paper i.e. bright orange so that they stand out when they are delivered through people's doors or in people's pockets, handbags etc. After work and dog walks, I'm popping round with my laminator and we plan to blitz the nearby streets!
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
Just added details on Twitter.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
I've just added details to Streetlife, local website.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
If there was someone willing to put mini flyers through doors in Cassy's and neighbouring streets then I would be happy to print out a batch - Millys Mum - if you think this is a good idea then perhaps you could email the mini flyer (and let me know how many to print).
Millys Mum
Thanks Baggy Dog, ellejay and Alison. I'm in work (again!) at the mo but have just left a message on cassysmum's landline (will also send text). ellejay - will ask cassysmum to drop a missing poster round.
AlisonH
Mini flyers made up and emailed as requested.
ellejay
Millysmum as you know I work in this road, so will keep eyes peeled and spread word. I will check out grounds when I go in tomorrow. if they can pop a poster in to surgery I will put in our window.

Would a co-ordinator be kind enough to add REWARD to Cassy's details please (am in work at the mo and so can't send an email). Thanks!
Millys Mum
Thank you BelieveInMagic - that's very kind of you. I've just had a text from cassysmum to say that Cody, their injured cat, has gone into shock this morning and so please pray for their lovely lad.
BelieveInMagic
I have shared this on Twitter and on the two Crystal Palace local groups. I hope she is found safely soon and their other cat is on the mend.
Millys Mum
I know that cassysmum has another photo to send but it's on another mobile but (hopefully) this can be sent tomorrow. Also wanted to thank you for sending out the email alerts.
AlisonH
Second photo sent was exactly the same as the first photo. Age now added.
Millys Mum
Thanks Alison for adding Cassy's photo. It's my friend's cat. I think you've also been been sent a second photo. Would you or another co-ordinator kindly add Cassy's age (Young Adult)to her details and that Cassy's owners are happy to offer a REWARD for her safe return. Sadly their other cat was involved in a RTA outside their home this morning and is at the vets with a fractured pelvis and possible nerve damage. It goes without saying that they need Cassy home as soon as possible. They have alerted many neighbours and have put up a poster close to home but have advised them to put up many more. They will also speak to their Postie to get him/her to pass the word around at the sorting office. They are very close to a junior school which needs to be alerted before they start their summer break because, as we know, children are very good at spotting cats and especially one as unusual and beautiful as Cassy. Also would you please send cassiesmum and me some of your mini-flyers. Thank you.
